Another fun river adventure for me, I hope you guys have a good time too. Please don't forget to give it a like if you enjoyed the video and subscribe if you want MOAR!
You can use sodium silicate to recreate chipped bottle edges. I haven't tried it, but dad did and he says it's pretty good. So those chipped bottles you have, you could fix up by dripping some of that on it.
The brass things you said "looked like it had a mirror in them" are the keys to a brass instrument such as a saxophone. They hold the pads that press down and seal the holes as you play notes. I'm an old saxophone player myself and instantly recognized them. Congrats on the seated half. Awesome!
Glad to see you’re still going. You got me excited about metal detecting and uncovering the past many years ago! I love that you still have that same passion that inspired me
Woot! 🎉on the Seated Liberty!bet you are right, more where she came from! ...lol Chig i think you were being stalked ." There he is its that famous Aquachigger fella! Hes on to something ! " they say
Thanks for the video Chigg - the woods were closed to all travel here in Nova Scotia because of the forest fires. Just opened up this week. 151 homes were destroyed at one site near Halifax. Over 50 lost in the Western end of the province with the biggest forest fire in our recorded history. Flames were shooting 300 feet in the air - about 60,000 acres burned - still burning but under control. Even had fire fighters from Montana come up to help.
Definitely saxophone keys, I own a band instrument repair shop and have seen many of those in my 35+ years. The rest of the instrument may very well be in the area. The key that you found are mounted on the instrument between posts with a long steel screw. It is likely the screws have rusted away, and the keys fell off. The other round disc that has a bump in the middle that you had laying by the keys in the round up is a pary of a pad system that was used by the Conn instrument manufacturer. The pads would snap into the pad cup using that part.
Another great adventure, thanks for taking us along! Such a beautiful river! I'd ask where, but I get not disclosing that info. Keep enjoying that gorgeous nature and keep bringing us along! Cheers!
Hey Beau, I had my first asthma attack the other day thanks to this air. I'm about an hour and a half away from you. Carrying an inhaler with me when I'm hunting for now.
@@Objective-Observer I agree with you. And by the look of it, they are too thick for saxophone. Maybe from a steam organ though which would make it a steam release valve 😊
Ah, yes ... smokey haze ... We are well acquainted with that here in Northern California! So sad about the fires, though! Looks like another great Chigg-venture on the river ... You scored some good finds ... and just fun to be out. Looking forward to MOAR! Thanks, Chigg! - Muddypaw 🐾
You should see the deadfall in Nova Scotia after Hurricane Juan... it's anywhere from 25 to 50% of the forest here. Cleaning it up was discussed and dismissed when it happened 20 years ago. This is what we get for leaving millions of dead trees laying all around our urban centers. The place was and still is a tinderbox.
@@Netbug I believe it. California is a tinderbox because of all the policies they have in place that do not allow for clearing undergrowth/deadfall. Add to that the 100+ yr old electrical infrastructure and end up with things like the deadliest wildfire in the state (country) in 2018 - the Camp Fire. I work in mental health with survivors of the Camp Fire and it is still devastating lives 5 yrs later. I hope they get those fires under control really soon up there in Canada!! 🐾
I know you know how hard it is to fint a seated half, good find. I could be be detecting in a really remote spot , and like magic I hear a voice out of nowhere say are you finding anything!!! I can only imagine what its going to be like 5 or 10 years from now. I would love to see more river videos. Before I realized it was a jet boat I was thinking you were getting way to close to shore and tree limbs!!!
Love! Your jet boat videos. You all in the East are not used to the enormity of really bad dangerous wildfire smoke as we in the west and western Canada are. Its rough yes. But nothing compared to what those who are loosing land sustainable wilderness and homes are experiencing
Nice coin Chigg. I get it about wanting to protect your spot. I do a lot of river detecting and I was in a spot one day where I found a couple of mercury dimes as well as a seated dime in one area, and a few other relics, and I had a couple in a canoe come floating up to me and asked how I was doing. Well, as they were coming closer to me, I hurried up onto the bank, and I said whoa, there’s another one! And they looked at me kind of funny, and I said I don’t think it’s worth detecting here I said, I’ve never seen an area so infested with snakes and snapping turtles in my life! Lol they couldn’t paddle out of there fast enough. You mention snakes in the river and people just get all creeped out and they can’t take it most of the time lol
Aloha Chigg, 1876, the Battle of the Little Big Horn, The American Centennial in Philly, Pa. and some nice fire bricks. Still good for a fire pit, kiln etc. Thank for the companionship Chigg!
When I was a kid here in Michigan my grandfather used to use a fishing spear like that to spear Pike and muskie ice fishing in lake St. Clair which is part of the Great lakes water system
SEATED HALF WOO-HOO !!!! Congratulations Chigg. Man you have been on fire 🔥 these last few hunts. Love the SAFETY SEAL JAR. Thanks Chigg for another great AQUACHIGGER ADVENTURE. The only thing that would have made the hunt better is if I was with you. Keep up the great work 👍 👏
Those bricks are apparently from a brickworks that operated from 1856 to 1987, they're firebricks that lined the furnaces. Not sure how they show up in strange places but I guess there's a story behind them.
Love the half dollar! I’m obsessed with the Walking Liberty coins, I even got her tattooed on my leg. I’m a Canadian but go figure lol, Liberty and her flowing gowns and holding the torch is beautiful! Yes we could see and smell the smoke for the last few days and lots of people coughing. My eyes were actually stinging at times, and I’m in Ontario! Loving your channel and have been binging the vids although I don’t think I’ll ever get through them all anytime soon as you’ve got so many! Thank you for sharing all your adventures and finds🤩🇨🇦
Hey Mr. The cast iron gig that you found was actually a Civil War Navy Seal trident probably dropped during a covert special ops raid to capture a high ranking confederate officer or war plans! As always, stay safe and healthy!
Nice finds especially the seated half were you able to clean it and see if it had a mint mark under the eagle on the reverse CC or S ? Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Your two finds that you commented that maybe a mirror was in it. I believe they are Saxophone parts that close over openings and the had pads in them to stop air leaks.
My favorite Videos are his river hunts & his desert hikes and trips for sure. He has done such a thorough job hunting these areas he is probably running into slimmer picking, but it seems the thing he is most natural doing. Who doesn’t love cruising up and down a river full of history. Also like when he mixes it with some good historical facts about the various locations. Wonder if he ever has brought the chig rig to some Louisiana rivers near New Orleans? I would think there would be some incredible history between the civil and 1812 war.
those funky round things are valves off of a saxaphone. i knew i recognized them from somewhere when you 1st showed them but took a bit to come back to me.
Up in Alberta, we had dense smoke for quite a while. The smoke u have now is from Ontario/Quebec. Man, no floating down the river for you. Looked like you were pulling a few "G's".
Beaux, the thing w spikes is one side of a Presto or Oster hotdog cooker that ran elect current through the weiner to heat it. Cooked like 8 hotdogs in 30sec.
The smoke from the Canadian fires was so back for 2 days in Northern New Jersey you could not see the sun. The sky was a crazy yellow and it smelled like someone was burning paper. We had our windows closed for both days and A/C on even thought we did not really need it.
Congratulations on the half dollar Chiggs ! Really enjoyed the river adventure and the interesting assortment of finds. Could you determine the age of the iron fishing spear ? Love the old bricks you found too. Take care and best regards always !
Another great video! We have had smoke from Canada here in NW Ohio all week. Several mornings you could stare at the sun and it just looked like a faint red ball in the sky.
🎶🎵this is a story about a man named Chigg..a old Virginia boy looking for treasure to dig..then one day while looking in the water he spied a object that looked like a lump of solder..spanish coin it was..big of width..hold your breath..ill come back..yall hear🎶🎵🎵😬😁
Another fun river adventure for me, I hope you guys have a good time too. Please don't forget to give it a like if you enjoyed the video and subscribe if you want MOAR!
Really enjoyed it. Hahaha always an adventure 👊 that's why we love ya
I thought it smelled like Canadian Bacon and I could not figure out why.
You can use sodium silicate to recreate chipped bottle edges. I haven't tried it, but dad did and he says it's pretty good. So those chipped bottles you have, you could fix up by dripping some of that on it.
i like turtles
Been waiting for thie river ratt to come out

Those are part of an old Conn sax.
As a saxophonist of many years myself, I came here to say the same thing!
Was coming here for same thing lol played sax in school
Indeed a 🎷
The seated liberty was definitely a heart stopper.
Already a great day when on the river, with the bonus of a ride in the jetboat. Very nice coin and more. Thanks for sharing, Beau.
Man I love that Jet boat, it's just awesome!!!
Glad to see you’re still going. You got me excited about metal detecting and uncovering the past many years ago! I love that you still have that same passion that inspired me
Nice seated half!!
Another great adventure. Thanks for taking us along.
Delicate flower," I'm gonna steal that !
Woot! 🎉on the Seated Liberty!bet you are right, more where she came from! ...lol Chig i think you were being stalked ." There he is its that famous Aquachigger fella! Hes on to something ! " they say
I haven't heard "delicate flower" in many years🤣 great video 👍 congrats!
Those round things you thought might hold mirrors are actually valves off a brass instrument like French horn or a saxophone. Civil war band? 😀

I’m in upstate New York Albany area , you should see the haze here , plus it smelled like a campfire,be safe
Small world...I live the same area. About 30 mins from Albany south.
A very good Saturday morning to you all in the USA from Wellington Somerset in the UK 🇬🇧

What a beautiful, beautiful river!
Love theRiver Rat Chigg boat!!! Nice finds, Chigg
Nice hunt ...it was so calm on the river. I love your videos and your finds .hugs pat😊
Chigg, the odd round brass things you have, that you thought may have contained mirrors, look like the keys to Saxophone or similar instrument.
💯 Definitely keys to a saxophone 🎷👍🏽
Bingo!
Interesting. I thought they were the steam release valves off machines.
@@Objective-Observer I agree with you. And by the look of it, they are too thick for saxophone. Maybe from a steam organ though which would make it a steam release valve 😊
Welcome to my world Chigg! As a volunteer firefighter, we have to put up with this stuff most summers, you need to wear a P2 mask which should help.
Awesome seated coin..and i like the 4 prong fishing piece from hundred years ago..eels snakes big fish.River is beautiful and aqua chigger boat.
Thanks for watching!
Great Silver. Still can't get over Doug having an Open Bottom!😂

Yup I'm in northern Michigan and it's a little smokey up here as well great adventure thanks for letting me tag along
Nice CHIGG!! THANKS!.😊👍
The round floppy looking things that you thought might have held a mirror are pieces off of a bass saxophone 🎷
I know you know how hard it is to fint a seated half, good find. I could be be detecting in a really remote spot , and like magic I hear a voice out of nowhere say are you finding anything!!! Lots of awesome finds chigger. The coin is really nice. MAkes it worth it.
Congratulations on the coin Chigg see you on the next one GOD BLESS 😊
Glad you found a nice shiny object instead of pop - tops !
Love! Your jet boat videos. You all in the East are not used to the enormity of really bad dangerous wildfire smoke as we in the west and western Canada are. Its rough yes. But nothing compared to what those who are loosing land sustainable wilderness and homes are experiencing
Some nice finds. That silver was epic. Love the old bottles. Great job dude! 👍

Thanks for the video. Nice coin!
Love your shows, chigg! They mellow me out!
Those bricks are apparently from a brickworks that operated from 1856 to 1987, they're firebricks that lined the furnaces. Not sure how they show up in strange places but I guess there's a story behind them.
Thanks for the info.
We have poor air quality in south western Ontario. There is a smokey haze hanging over with a strong throat catching smell. 🔥 🔥
The brass discs are saxophone keys. Cool hunt!
Love that outro song! Thanks Chigg!

Slipping those kayakers reminds me of a Turkey Hunter, turkey hunter will park his truck 10 miles away from where he's hunting lol
Nicely done Chigg , the seated Liberty was a great find. 🇺🇸
It was so bad up here in PA you couldn't see a 1/4 mile away if that, my eyes still hurt could smell it to
What is that bad ass jet boat. Love it
The spiky thing is one side of a presto hotdog electric cooker from middle 70's, it fries them fun to watch as a child 👍
Those things you said, "might of had mirrors in them." were Valves for a Saxophone or similar instrument.
Lol I’m in southern Ontario, working landscaping. Cooler weather is nice. Hazey here for sure but no breathing problems
Hey Mr.
The cast iron gig that you found was actually a Civil War Navy Seal trident probably dropped during a covert special ops raid to capture a high ranking confederate officer or war plans!
As always, stay safe and healthy!
What a beautiful looking river, you are blessed to live in such a location.
Fruit cups and Pepsi😜❣
As always you take us along on another great adventure 👍thank you
I'll take a seated half to start the hunt any day. Congrats 🎉
Cool machine you got to cruise the water
cool on the sitting liberty
It makes it entertaining that you are bat crap crazy! Keep it up
Chigg ! Those funny lookin circular round things connected to the arms look like they came off a SAXOPHONE 🎷
Nice finds especially the seated half were you able to clean it and see if it had a mint mark under the eagle on the reverse CC or S ? Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Good one... love the silver👍👍

at least you didnt trip on a sandbag . so you are still good
We've got the Canadian Smoke down here in the south also, nice finds thanks Chigg.
You are a card...A joker. Cool Chig-man.

That 1876 half looks like it's in mint state condition after all these years ! May be worth sending to N.G.C. for conservation and grading .
those funky round things are valves off of a saxaphone. i knew i recognized them from somewhere when you 1st showed them but took a bit to come back to me.
That's one badass boat Chigg

And that is why I don't play my saxophone down by the river anymore!!!
Soon as I heard that light "chink!" sound in your hand I thought "That's the sweet sound of silver!" I love that sound. :)
I heard it too. :)
Sweet coin Chigg

It was me the Kayak, I know exactly where that spot is. Thanks for the tip! :P
Chigg I can't believe you tossed that big hay fork back in the water, I saw one just like it in Tucson Museum and the two they had dated 1867 & 1878
I live in upstate New York but the smoke is getting more clear but it's starting to rain a lot
Congratulations on the half dollar Chiggs ! Really enjoyed the river adventure and the interesting assortment of finds. Could you determine the age of the iron fishing spear ? Love the old bricks you found too. Take care and best regards always !
The smoke is bad here in Northern Michigan too, not like New York though. That seated half was awesome.
The pintle is cool.
Another great video! We have had smoke from Canada here in NW Ohio all week. Several mornings you could stare at the sun and it just looked like a faint red ball in the sky.
Thanks for putting the glass back in the river.
