I want to travel with you all. By the time I would get to Chicago I would weigh 10 pounds more, but I would be happy😅👍😉🫶 BTW, I subscribed because I want to travel more with you all - beautiful family ☺️
The kids loved Amtrak because your parents made it so much fun. You were well prepared and you completed the assignment. So that is a memory that you created for your children that they will remember forever. Nice job parents.
Did they? All we have seen of them is them being on electronics, bored when walking around, scared of the doors. Happy when they were entertained with food and games, but I think they could care less about what was happening outside the window. They didn t complain, but it doesn't mean that they enjoyed/cherished the experience
I really like your attitude about travel! It is all about excitement and wonder. Too many people complain so much, they miss the point. Thank you for taking us along on your journey.
Thank you for your kind words and blessing. We visited Dayton Ohio last year and loved visiting the Air Force museum. Sending Love from Long Island, New York
@@KhizEesa I live about 15 - 20 minutes away in Dayton from the Air Force Museum! I toured it with friends visiting last summer from Wisconsin. 🙂 The museum has grown almost a lot over the years. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos! Hugs!
@caryndalton7413 you are lucky, That is a great museum with such rich history but we only had 2-3 hours when we visited. All the people we met there were super nice. Video of the museum is here th-cam.com/video/eWfE4ei5rdw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k1jKfG0GDATJPFkj
I totally agree w you !! 👍I did sub right away nyself ,too ! Lol. I usually don't. But,lately I have been finding real good channels ,so subscribing right away to those !! Lol. 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Your video made my husband and I confident we could do this journey in coach - thank you! We sleep all the time on overnight planes and this is so much better. Your kid's reaction to the journey ending was so cute.
Glad this was helpful. This Amtrak trip took us by surprise and we can’t wait to do New Orleans to New York this summer to see if my husband and kids enjoy it as much as we did the first time New York to Chicago! Thank you for your comment
@@KhizEesa I understand your excitement. Once we reach Chicago, we'll connect to the California Zephyr the day after. I'm so giddy about it. Enjoy your trip on the Crescent.
This was a lovely video and you are a lovely family. You made your children’s trip a wonderful one. I love traveling by train too. So glad you are introducing a new generation to train travel. 😊
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you liked the video! We booked our next trip from New Orleans to New York and can’t wait to be in a 33 hour train ride.
Yes,indeed !! Family like them is definitely wonderful people to ride with & meet on a train & they can make our trips fun & pleasant !! Their kids are very ,very polite ,too !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
I always travel coach because it fits my budget and I meet more people. Thank you for your lovely video. Most people who do videos are grumpy when they are in coach. You show that it is a matter of attitude. You chose to be happy and think it is a great trip.
Thank you for your kind words. And yes, we are just blessed to be experiencing travel in general. Whether coach or roomette, it’s starts with one’s attitude. It was such an incredible experience!
I have been a fan of trains my whole life and have done the Lake Shore Limited many times from NYC to Rochester to visit my family. I loved your positive energy of the whole trip. Meeting and talking to new people and seeing the country in a way you would never get on a plane. I subscribed to travel along with you. Life long Long Islander here and you represent us very well. You all are an amazing family.
Great job on the video! This really shows how it looks to ride economy and it doesn’t look bad at all. Personally, I would be challenged with sitting so long but you did a great job demonstrating what the ride would be like. Thank you!
Really nice video. I share your sense of excitement about train travel. I am planning to take 3 economy class trips this summer, the longest about 15 hours and you captured perfectly what I will encounter. Thanks.
Well we had a Roomette and it did not have near the leg room as Coach seats. Even though I had a bed, the train was shaking and waking me. Our trip was from Memphis to New Orleans.
One of the very best videos of this route trip / ride for Amtrak !! 👍👍The mom is beautiful & she can cook & their kids are very well behaved & handsome boys !! The dad is a very lucky man !! I loved your enthusiasm & I totally can relate to your feelings & being a bit emotional & sentimental at the end of this video ( ride ) & swearing you'd ride on an Amtrak train ,again !! That was what & how I felt when I took an Amtrak train to San Diego from L.A. a few years ago !! ( it was not my 1st time taking Amtrak ,though ) The staff were so caring & so nice to us ,too !! We rode in a business class. We loved our souvenir boxes from them ,too ! I am very glad to know you guys were very comfortable in coach class seats for 19 hrs .!!! 👍👍I'd love to do this ,too ~!! I'll bring my own meals & snacks as well ! That was a hefty volume of snacks you brought in ,though !! 😅 Haha. I wanna try some of that vegan BBQ 🍔, too !! 😋 I am currently planning to take this route with mom in a wheelchair. So ,debating between this & a roommate, but it's gonna be super expensive to do the round trip from L.A.if we'll do all sleepers cars plus our cruise to England from N.Y. !!! Lol 😅But,we are very determined & excuted for our trip together !!! Thanks for this wonderful video !! It was really great !! I really enjoyed !! You said it felt like a short trip & you wanted more ! I felt this video went really quickly as I really enjoyed !! Which is not really often the case for a long video ! 👏👏👏💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🚈🍽💕💞
Thank you for your kind comments. And we are very happy you found the video helpful/entertaining. Your trip and cruise sounds great. But it sure is a very long train ride. We are booked on a 33 hours in Coach this summer from New Orleans to New York. You may want to consider Coach and Rommette (half and half) if that is possible to control the cost. We wish you the very best in planning your trip and thank you very much for your kinds words. 🙏❤️😃
@KhizEesa Yesss ! That's what I am considering ! Some coach class & some roomette rooms ! 👍We'll be taking Louisiana route ,I believe ! I am very happy that I found your channel !! Thank you so much for your replies & tips !! I appreciated. 🙏👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🚈💕💞
This was so much fun to watch! I love your family. When you went through Goshen Indiana, you passed about 5-6 miles from our house. 😀 Good luck on your future adventures!
Thank you for your kind comment. Glad you enjoyed our Amtrak adventure. We absolutely loved Indiana, such a beautiful state. We just researched Goshen Indiana, just to see where it is. Our next series (starting next week) will be about our trip to Indianapolis visiting the Indianapolis Zoo and then driving to Dayton Ohio to visit the Air Force Museum. Thank you for reaching out, and have an awesome day
I am Colombian, currently living in Germany, and I consider myself a born traveler. I have to thank you for this video, because next year I want to go to the United States to visit my sister, and one of my dreams is to cross the country (from the east coast to the west) by train. So, this video helped me get a little idea of what to expect, in fact my idea is to continue to Los Angeles as well. Thanks again and greetings from Munich.🥰
Thank you and glad the video was helpful. Your cross country Amtrak adventure sounds amazing. We recently posted New Orleans to NY which was 32 hours of fun that went by quick 32 Hours in Amtrak Coach from New Orleans to New York for $94 in @amtrak Crescent #travel th-cam.com/video/2OwtKherP5s/w-d-xo.html Safe travels and greetings from NY
That Chicken Biryani looks AMAZING!!!! Your enthusiasm is contagious, I was smiling the whole video! I live in Chicago and have never been to New York, so I've been thinking of maybe taking an Amtrak there sometime in the next few months - so all these Amtrak videos are coming up in my feed now haha. I haven't taken a real train journey in years. I'm originally from the UK and I used to take the train between Glasgow and London several times a year, and I found it so much less stressful than flying. But those trains were only 5-6 hours, I'm not sure how I'll deal with a 19 hour ride! Loved your video!!
Thank you for such a kind note and we can confirm that the Chicken Biryani also tasted amazing. We had a great time in Amtrak and ended that adventure wondering if we would love it if we tried again. Last month we took Amtrak Coach class from New Orleans to New York for 32 hours and again loved it. Train travel is defensively a more calmer way to experience travel as long as you are not rushing. We highly recommend it, at least once. Thank you again for your kind words and glad you enjoyed the journey with us!
I have to say your wife has a great smile and keeps your family together. And not sure how Indian men take this compliment but your wife is very beautiful. Please keep it up.
Nice video, I went on this same trip a few months ago and totally enjoyed the experience but didn't get any sleep at all. There was one guy sitting behind me snored all the from Rochester to Chicago . . . no one got a wink of sleep !!
Glad you enjoyed the video! That’s too bad to hear. One of our viewers recommended eye mask and ear plugs for our next train ride. And your story confirms it. A blanket, neck pillow, eye mask and ear plugs if anyone wants Amtrak Coach overnight!
What a wonderful travelogue and your excitement for train travel was so heartening to watch. You were all like wondrous kids discovering something special for the first time! I just completed a trip from Seattle to Los Angeles then to Santa Fe to Chicago and New York (with stops in between-all by coach.) I share your enthusiasm for train travel, as it's a way to travel that invites you to savor moments on the journey. Who knows? Maybe I'll be sitting across from you on some trip some day.
Thank you for your comment and if you ever see us in an Amtrak somewhere, please do say hi. We just booked our next train ride on Coach from New Orleans to NYC this summer. Can’t wait to share that 33 hour journey! Your trip sounds great, from Seattle down and then all the way to New York. Safe travels!
Wishing you and your family safe and happy train travels. We absolutely loved our first from NY to Chicago and have booked New Orleans to NY this summer. Enjoy and thank you for sharing
Great video. Your boys are adorable . I did part of this route June 2023. I travelled from NYC to Toronto (12 hours) . Thank you for sharing the video 😊
What a delight to follow this family on a 19 hour train trip. Eesa, you were delightful as you expressed you delight and joy on trip. Are the boys always so well-behaved? This entire family made this a great trip to share with them.
Writing from Australia and having done this journey as part of a trans-Amtrak across America holiday, it was so gratifying to see newbie Amtrak travellers who had such a positive experience. Yes, compared to airline seats, Amtrak coach is almost as good as Business class. Happy and customer focused train staff also make for a positive journey experience. Wait till you eventually travel in the Amtrak SuperLiner cars.
Thanks for the comment. We were curious how much we will actually enjoy the experience and based on the NY to Chicago on Amtrak’s 49 Lake Shore Limited, we are looking to book a roundtrip NY to New Orleans on Amtrak 19 Cresent, a 32 hour one way route, in Coach! And yes we agree, we can’t wait to try Superliner Cars and the West Coast routes. Cheers from Long Island
@@KhizEesa Yeah man I think it's only on certain trains (all the ones west of Mississippi and certain ones east) but if you get the sleeper car on those, the meals are free (I was on the sleep car, in a "roomette", for a family I would suggest "family bedroom")...they give you breakfast, lunch and a four course dinner. 🙂That long distance Coast Starlight trip I took was pretty cool...normally I would go up to Seattle for a weekend, and I would fly, but it was great ride. 🙂
@@Wolf_Of_Wallstreet " nonstop journey from LA to Chicago in Amtrak coach class." Personally, my answer is definitely not. On the other hand, if you can afford to get a room, then yes, definitely, I very much recommend long distance Amtrak. It doesn't replace air travel at long distances, because in most circumstances you want to get your destination in a reasonable period of time. That's why we don't use HSR in North America and Australia. It's not our fault that the deep water ports are so far apart on these two continents, that's how we found it when we got here. 🙂 But if you have the extra couple days of vacation time to spend on travel, and you can afford the room, yes, do it. I have done long distance Amtrak once, and I definitely suggest others try it at least once. It won't replace air travel for most trips but it's an amazing experience to have, if you get a room. 🙂
Great and fun video. Thank you. We book a trip from Stamford, Connecticut to Chicago this January 2025. Will it be cold I am sure but can't wait. I love the excitement on everyone's face when you first got on the train. Awesome feeling.
That’s an excellent idea! We do that for long road trips and camping instead of buying ice! We didn’t knew what to expect but now we can’t wait to try another Amtrak Adventure! Hope you enjoyed your DC to Chicago trip
I love how excited you all were for this trip. I love taking the train! It may not be the quickest, but I have found it to be the most relaxing and interesting way to travel.
I love Amtrak. I’m 81 so I now get a bedroom or roomette but for years I took economy & loved it just as much. The fares have increased so much I may have to go back to economy!
My dad and I used to go every year from Elkhart to Penn station NY. We never had enough money for roomettes or anything, but boy, do I remember the names on the routes, and how hot it used to get when they separated the trains in Albany, it was fun for me, ages 8-15. I’m 28 now. Not much has changed except the seats which look nicer than the blue fabric that used to be. And the small white net that sat over the headrest.
Thank you for sharing that memory and little bit of Amtrak history. We had no idea we would love train travel as much as we did. There is just something about it that is peaceful
I watch a few Amtrack videos but they usually are just adults. It's nice to see a family video and how you all enjoyed it. I took the Empire Builder to Seattle last year in a roomette with a dear friend. It was so enjoyable. I hope your family can do one of the long trips in a sleeper car some day.
Next year we plan to book a sleeper sonwe can experience another way to travel on Amtrak. We will be posting our New Orleans to NY Amtrak Coach video in the next few weeks
What a lovely family! I used to ride Amtrak from Penn station NY to Hudson NY to visit friends in Catskill NY. I have also take the Auto Train . I enjoyed your trip to Chicago.
Awe you're a beautiful family. I hated to see you go from this video. I connected with you and your hubby and also kids as well. Do an Amtrak trip from Atlanta, GA to Maryland. Thank you for sharing your video.
Very nice video of your family's adventure on the train. I always wanted to do that trip, but always ended up with a 2 hours flight from JFK to O'Hare due to time constraints. Thank you for posting. You have a wonderful family and I hope you all had fun!
I just love your video!! I love your excitement and appreciation of the train. You both seem like lovely people and your sons are sweet. I subscribed so that I can enjoy you all along the way! ❤
New to the Channel, Excellent Video & Beautiful Family. Best of luck in your travel journeys. I’m looking forward to watching your other videos for tips and entertainment. I live in new York city suburbs and I don’t like to fly when traveling, so this train ride is an option I will use in the near future. So once again, thank you for sharing your family journey with us on Social Media. Bravo to you…
FYI, the person getting into the Locomotive is called the Engineer. The conductor is on board the passenger cars themselves. They are the ones that check tickets and run the train from the inside. Alongside the engineer who gets into the cab. Also, the locomotive number has nothing to do with the train number. Just a little few helpful temps for you guys. Great video.
The many people on trains now are clueless and are not "foamers" or "railfans" it makes me and the crews sad. We love our conductors and all of the crew members.
I remember an engineer friend telling he had a hardtime trying to explain to a cop that the EMU's class number was not the train number after having hit a car at a level crossing 😁
In french, it is more complicated 😬 The person driving the train used to be called "mécanicien" witch can be translated by "engineer", but the nowdays official word is "conducteur", though the public uses the word "chauffeur", witch is used for road vehicles, but for trains relates to the firenam, and upsets railway conoisseurs 😁 En the train, what you call a "conductor" is called "contrôleur" though the official word is "chef de bord". But "conducteur" used to relate to the person in charge of a sleeping car, especially on former international night trains, where he kept the passengers' tickets and passports, so the "contrôleurs" from all the national railways and the customs agents could check them without waking anybody up.
I love long train trips, and I am blessed to live in the Chicago area with immediate access to Union Station. 30 years ago, my youngest Brother and I did the California Zephyr excursion across the U.S. There are no words for the scenery and the experiences we had with our fellow passengers (some were from abroad), the crews and just having that unique opportunity to really talk before both our lives were going to change forever. He had just graduated high school and me college. Memories of a lifetime. Definitely try a sleeper car and a longer route with your children. Those cars are worth every penny, and I appreciated the private washroom. Take care and travel safely.
We just finished an Amtrak Coach ride from New Orleans to New York. It was wonderful seeing 12 states through our train window. Thank you for your tips as well. We can’t wait to try Sleeper car next. Safe travels as well
I would have a problem with the bathroom issue so i probably would do the sleeper. Yall did it the right way with your own food, buy some from cafe car and bring games. I loved the family interaction. Thanks for this video.
Thank you for that sweet comment and glad you found the video helpful or entertaining. We totally agree, wish the bathrooms on the trains were in better shape, that would truly improve the otherwise fun way to travel 😃
That was a fantastic overview of an Amtrak train trip. We would travel with our two daughters and this is exactly what we would hope for in our family travels. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.
You guys are so cute. I was so excited and happy when I took a train from Montreal to North Canada on 13 hours overnight. It was the happiest day of my life.
Loved your review, and your excitement. I have been riding Amtrak since the 1980s and always excited to go. I love that you are enjoying the time with your family and taking time to relax and enjoy the ride.
Thank you, glad you liked the review. And yes, we e shouldn't be surprised because we love travel in general but taking a train is a very relaxing and unique experience and we can't wait to go again this summer
Good O'l Union Station .... doesn't grow old on Ya. Wish if they had dedicated carts for large breed dogs. We'd love to plan a round trip from Chitown to Big Apple.
Thank you for sharing. You provided very interesting and valuable commentary. You have a very beautiful family. The boys were very well behaved. May you have many more safe travels!!
I am soon going to take the auto train Washington to Orlando and I will go and Coach also. So thank you for the helpful video and your excitement is fun 😊 to watch. And the mommy in this video is gorgeous!
Wow, thank you for the video that brought back so much good memories. I took Amtrak from Oakland, California to Boston Massachusetts. Definitely long ride coach all the way so I know what you’re talking about. It has been a while since I’ve done that but it was an amazing experience thanks for the video.
Glad you liked the video and got to reminisce on your own train journeys. Oakland to Boston sounds like a dream to us but we are slowly gearing towards it. Next for us is New Orleans to Ny this summer, 33 hours in coach.
@@KhizEesa wow that’s wonderful trip to New Orleans. I’ve been there several times totally enjoy New Orleans. I even embarked on two cruises from there. It’s a great city. Hope you enjoy your train trip this summer and will hopefully post it on TH-cam.
Very nice family! Everyone had a great attitude and it was shining through. The only difficult amenity would be the restroom, not sure I could handle that for a trip much longer than 19 hours. You and your family would be great to have as traveling companions. Thanks for video.
Thank you so much! And we agree 💯 with you. Restrooms is the challenging part of Amtrak. Luckily we have been camping for a while and some campgrounds restrooms can prepare you for what you see in some Amtrak trains. We booked a 33 hour train from New Orleans to New York this summer in coach so that will truly test our restroom boundaries. Appreciate you taking the time to write a comment
You guys are awesome love the back-and-forth commentating thank you for sharing. I too have ridden coach from Greenville SC to Philly numerous times and love it every time.
Why I watched this video is a bit of a mystery. However, the last stop before Butler,IN is Bryan,OH where I live. I want to complement you on a very nice video.
I'm glad you didn't experience any hiccups with this trip. That has sometimes been the case with people making the crosscountry Amtrak trips where the train is stuck or delayed due to random issues with the train or no conductor. I can understand doing this trip at $70/person, but I just find that with the limited amt of time I have on vacations to speak, it's hard to justify losing a day or so in travel time. With that said, I think the sleeper car is too prohibitively expensive, as I've noticed in other videos on here. Plus you'd need to reserve 2 cabins and isn't all too comfortable. If you want to explore Amtrak, I suggest two routes: a) Amtrak Cascades: Vancouver to Seattle. Pay a little more for first/business class and enjoy the views + food. b) Amtrak Pacific Surfliner: Double decker train with pretty nice views of Southern California.
We were prepared for delays but shockingly we arrived 30+mins early. The time is also a huge factor since we only get to travel on weekends, spending 19 hours in a train may not be productive and it did took away from our time in Chicago. On the positive side, we loved the journey to the point that we want to book a longer train ride next time. These 4 tickets for $270 were a steal but the very next week, same tickets were $900. And yes we agree on the sleeper cabins, it was $1600 for two cabins which is what we pay for a 8 day cruise. Too bad that Amtrak only has the 4 person cabins on the west coast routes. Your suggestions are awesome, noted in our planner. Thank you so much for the helpful tips!
I've had the luck of getting delays that surpassed the total travel time. 10 hrs of delays for an 8 hr train ride across one state. Got to use my airbnb for 2 hrs that morning, only thanks to a generous host.
Thank you and yes, we are very excited to try an Amtrak room or roomette in future. Make sure to check our New Orleans to NY Amtrak Coach in a few months 😃
As someone who rides Amtrak alot, as a tip I usually pack snacks and cold foods, like chicken wraps, sandwiches, etc. They do have a microwave in the diner cart. Great video though, I subbed. I also uploaded my own mini Amtrak video. Also as another tip, be very careful leaving train side. I've seen people get left behind. When Amtrak leave, they leave. They may be late to places, but they leave on time.
Thank you for the Microwave tip, we will take advantage in our next New Orleans to NY Amtrak Coach ride this summer. Also, thanks for the sub, welcome to our family 😄. We had heard about the Amtrak leaving so we stayed next to the train in Albany even though we were tempted to go grab a souvenir or snack
Great video, having traveled Amtrak before you captured the experience well, and you came prepared. You are a beautiful family and your kids were raised well, very well behaved and respectful. God bless you and I wish you continued success with your videos. 🙏✝️👍
info, 49 is the half section new york to albany first part, while 449 is the boston section, the wait at albany was for the 449 arrival / connecting to form 49 New York - Chicago train. The two engines up front are P42DCs 107 and 99 12:37 is the coupling of the initial 49 (449 section from boston) while 13:56 is the full joining of train. 49 from NYC generally has a P32AC-DM (Dual mode with a third rail shoe for NY Penn, numbers 700-717) leading then is taken off and the 449 engines are put up front. Loved the vid too.
Thank you for loving the video and sharing the details. We truly appreciate it. That is quite impressive amount of detail that one day we wish to have ourselves
WOW! well done guys. Thoroughly enjoyed your video. The excitement was lot more visible on mom and dad getting ready for the 19h trip. May i suggest getting a mic to clearly hear the conversations. Over all, you captured the entire journey nicely with great detailed background information.
Thank you for your kind words and glad you liked the video. We actually have Rode mics and recently upgraded them but have struggled with our sound, hoping to improve in future episodes. Thank again
Great video guys! I want to make a couple of notes so that people take the right train! From NYC, there are TWO different trains that go to Chicago with no transfers; there's The Cardinal (Southern route: DC-VA/WVA/OH/IND/Chicago, and the train that you're on, the Lakeshore Limited, which goes north along the east side of the Hudson River, crosses over to the west side by Albany, then proceeds to hit major northern cities such as Syracuse, Buffalo, etc, then goes along the shores of the Great Lakes and goes through Cleveland and Sandusky, OH, a stop in Indiana and finally finishing in Chicago... Both have great reasons for taking them (the scenery in Virginia and West Virginia are amazing!), but the Lakeshore Route is noticeably shorter... Thanks for the video!
I loved ur video, I also enjoy Amtrak, it’s been almost 30 yrs since I went from Chicago to Denver w my two young sons ❤ they still talk about that trip today. I hope you enjoyed my hometown Chicago.
Thank you very much! We had a great time with the kids. We loved that they wanted us to book another Amtrak even longer so we are all booked to do 33 hours in Coach (New Orleans to NY) this summer. Your 3-day trip sounds amazing with the kids. Hope you all have an awesome time.
That is fantastic to hear. We are getting close to our 2nd Amtrak train ride from New Orleans to New York this summer and getting excited about the 33 hours in coach. Which one did you book?
@KhizEesa I splurged and did a roomette on my way home! My wallet is mad but I feel like I'll be happy when the time comes. Also, your biriyanl looks so yummy!
One day we would love a rommette experience but on the west coast where 4 can fit in one room. And yes we can confirm that it was an awesome Homemade Biryani 😀

Meeting and talking to new people and seeing the country in a way you would never get on a plane. I subscribed to travel along with you. Life long Long Islander here and you represent us very well. You all are an amazing family.
Thank you for such a kind hearted comment, especially from a fellow Train Fan and Long Islander. We truly appreciate it 🙏
I never expected a video of regular folks traveling would be so much fun, but you guys pulled it off! Thank you for taking me on your trip! 😊
Thank you and glad you liked it! That was a pretty cool comment 😃
Great job on the video! This really shows how it looks to ride economy and it doesn’t look bad at all. Personally, I would be challenged with sitting so long but you did a great job demonstrating what the ride would be like. Thank you!
Glad you like the video and found it helpful! Thank you for your comment
Train travel is one of life’s great pleasures.
We agree 💯
And riding a swiss train is an overview of paradise 😍
@@Tiekorolivier while having a beer is even better:--)
What a joy to watch! Loved your spirit and excitement! Thanks for the views and Amtrack experience!
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Your enthusiasm and excitement made the trip more fun for you and the kids. It also made the video fun. Happy travels!
Thank you for that feedback. We appreciate it
A beautiful family of four. Mom always smiles.
Thank you 😊
Really nice video. I share your sense of excitement about train travel. I am planning to take 3 economy class trips this summer, the longest about 15 hours and you captured perfectly what I will encounter. Thanks.
Glad you found it helpful for your upcoming train journeys! Thanks and have an awesome time on your 3 trips
Eye masks and ear plugs are my go to so I don’t wake up at overnight stops. Loved the video!
GREAT TIP! Especially the eye mask because the light in front of us kept trying to wake us up! Glad you liked the video
Thank you for reaching out, and have an awesome day
That's awesome. I live next to Goshen in Elkhart and am researching this trip. Thanks for the video
We recently posted New Orleans to NY which was 32 hours of fun that went by quick 32 Hours in Amtrak Coach from New Orleans to New York for $94 in @amtrak Crescent #travel

Watching this Video made my Day. Thank you for sharing your Family with us! Subscribed.
Thank you and welcome to Khiz & Eesa family. Glad you found the video helpful or entertaining
Thank you for the compliment. We appreciate it
Nice video, I went on this same trip a few months ago and totally enjoyed the experience but didn't get any sleep at all.
Me and my family are traveling from Toledo to New York at the end of March for my 50th birthday first train ride I am so excited🎉😊
Thank you for watching and your kind words. We loved our Amtrak experience. And yes, the kids are awesome travel buddies!
Thank you all sooo much you have calmed my nerves I'll be taking Amtrak next weekend
Glad the video was helpful. Safe travels
Hello, ím planning to take the 44h nonstop journey from LA to Chicago in Amtrak coach class. Would you recommend it? Greetings
@@Wolf_Of_Wallstreet
" nonstop journey from LA to Chicago in Amtrak coach class."
Personally, my answer is definitely not.
But if you have the extra couple days of vacation time to spend on travel, and you can afford the room, yes, do it.
Thank you and wishing you safe and fun travels
I love Amtrak too! What a great adventure!
👍
We did Washington, D.C. to Chicago a month ago in Coach. We brought sandwiches and froze bottles of water. They thawed and were nice and cold.
That’s an excellent idea! We do that for long road trips and camping instead of buying ice! We didn’t knew what to expect but now we can’t wait to try another Amtrak Adventure! Hope you enjoyed your DC to Chicago trip
They have cups of ice that the cafe car will give you for free, as long as you buy something else. Sheesh.
You all made the train trip seem so fun and now I am ready to book train trip for me and my family. I loved the excitement on the Mom's face.
Thank you. Glad the video was helpful. And happy Travels!
I love how excited you all were for this trip. I love taking the train! It may not be the quickest, but I have found it to be the most relaxing and interesting way to travel.
We loved the idea of a train ride and now that we have tried it, we love it even more. There is something very relaxing about it.
I love Amtrak. I’m 81 so I now get a bedroom or roomette but for years I took economy & loved it just as much. The fares have increased so much I may have to go back to economy!
We love Amtrak as well. And we agree, the price of a roomette is cost prohibited for us as well
My dad and I used to go every year from Elkhart to Penn station NY.
Thank you and glad you liked the video! The NY to Hudson ride is so beautiful and frankly relaxing. We can’t wait to do this again
Awe you're a beautiful family. I hated to see you go from this video. I connected with you and your hubby and also kids as well. Do an Amtrak trip from Atlanta, GA to Maryland. Thank you for sharing your video.

Ok now I am sold. I have never traveled Amtrak but now I will try this for SURE! Excellent , helpful video!
That wonderful! Enjoy and safe travels 😃
Thank you for sharing. Definitely helpful tips/correction. Glad you liked the video!
In french, it is more complicated 😬
The person driving the train used to be called "mécanicien" witch can be translated by "engineer", but the nowdays official word is "conducteur", though the public uses the word "chauffeur", witch is used for road vehicles, but for trains relates to the firenam, and upsets railway conoisseurs 😁
En the train, what you call a "conductor" is called "contrôleur" though the official word is "chef de bord".
Lovely video. I quite enjoyed watching your Amtrak adventure 😊

Welcome and thank you!
This is a very good review of the Economy .. i was thinking to select sleeper vs this economy Thank you guys !

Wonderful, you guys will go right past where I live with my wife just before you arrive to Greenville say hey Dan and I’ll say hi to you all
It's a deal. We made a note to do a "hey Dan" right before arriving at Greenville!
Why I watched this video is a bit of a mystery. However, the last stop before Butler,IN is Bryan,OH where I live. I want to complement you on a very nice video.
Thank you for your kind words. We loved traveling through these small beautiful towns! Hope all is well in Bryan OH 👋
Great video! Seems like a great family trip! Your children will always remember this!
Thank you for that feedback.
I love Amtrak also. Thanks for taking us along.
If you want to explore Amtrak, I suggest two routes:
a) Amtrak Cascades: Vancouver to Seattle.
Here's something to consider though.....you are experiencing America rather than just flying over it
Yes! loved it.
I've had the luck of getting delays that surpassed the total travel time. 10 hrs of delays for an 8 hr train ride across one state. Got to use my airbnb for 2 hrs that morning, only thanks to a generous host.
Great Blessed happy smiling Family and equally enjoyable Amtrak Journey Blogger Mr Dad ❤😊🎉
Thank you from the Khiz & Eesa Family! That was very nice of you to acknowledge Mr Dad too 🙏❤️😃
Everyone had so much fun! Not bad for the price and experience.
This was great. I watch a lot of Amtrac videos. This was the first one I have seen with kids in tow 👍👍👍👍👍

I love how much fun you are having! Just wait until you get a bedroom car it is so much better you'll really trip out! Glad you had a good trip
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you like the video
Such a positive picture of a family thank you
Thank you for your kind words
info, 49 is the half section new york to albany first part, while 449 is the boston section, the wait at albany was for the 449 arrival / connecting to form 49 New York - Chicago train.
Just Arrived In Rocky Mt. N.C. 18+ Hours. What A Ride On Coach.
WOW! well done guys.
Thank again

We love that! Thank You for coming back to our most popular video 😃🥹
My Wife and I are about to do our first Amtrak ride.. 50 hours in coach!.. Coast Starlight then picking up the California Zephyr.. Can't wait..:)
That sounds exciting! Safe Travels
Thank you for your feedback and the tips on the two route to go to Chicago. We truly appreciate it ❤️
Love it. I feel the same way when I'm on amtrack. I did NY Tampa in a roommette because of my points. I'm thinking of doing ny to Chicago
Thank you! Interestingly enough, last night we were looking at NY to New Orleans in Economy but haven’t decided yet! The Roomette sounds luxurious
Awesome video and family traveling by Amtrak Coach!
Thank you!
I loved ur video, I also enjoy Amtrak, it’s been almost 30 yrs since I went from Chicago to Denver w my two young sons ❤ they still talk about that trip today. I hope you enjoyed my hometown Chicago.
Glad you liked the video! Thank you for sharing!
Your children are exceptional!!! Nice to see how you managed coach for the whole trip. We are planning a 3 day trip.😮 3 children, 4, 8, & 13.
Thank you very much! We had a great time with the kids. We loved that they wanted us to book another Amtrak even longer so we are all booked to do 33 hours in Coach (New Orleans to NY) this summer. Your 3-day trip sounds amazing with the kids. Hope you all have an awesome time.
My stop was Rhinecliff ,NY. I grew up there. Now I live in Florida since 1984.

Glad you found it enjoyable. Your story gives us hope that Khiz and Eesa also remembers their train rides with us. Have an awesome day
Your joy at riding Amtrak makes me so happy! I just booked a trip because I've missed it so much!
Very nice. The seats and space should be up in the air! Thanks for this fine clip.
Glad you enjoyed it!
