Just as you're sneaking through a Bandit camp... "I got a letter for you, from (x). Well, good luck!" Pulls you out of stealth and puts the whole camp on alert. I've had one grab me inside a fort. Luckily I had murdered all the nearby soldiers, so it didn't matter, but it did startle me.
I would like a game where the Messenger levels up with you. Sometimes they have companions that imply they help them deliver Messages, sometimes their garments would look tattered to imply a difficult trek. Then maybe give a little talking dialogue to check on them in the Tavern.
They mod _Interesting NPCs_ has a hilarious reversal of this. Mugnor (the college's most addlebrained mage) combined the Clairvoyance spell with Conjure Familiar in an attempt to create a spell that would go fetch items _for her._ Unfortunately, she reversed the polarity, creating a spell that would take your items and _lose_ them for you. Honestly, half of her ideas would be incredibly useful if she would just repurpose them or try to work the bugs out instead of just abandoning them.

One followed me into Apocrypha(? Is that how it’s spelled?) after I killed Miraak and gave me an inheritance letter for some random NPC that I did a quest for once and then -murdered- politely made them stop living.

It's my belief that Couriers are taught the spell that makes a path to your currently active quest, and that's how they find the people they're supposed to deliver to

There's a mod you can get that allows you to use the beacon as a crafting material for a mace. It disables that annoying quest but the best part is when you swing the mace at an enemy it goes, "A new face has touched the beacon".
You would think that, being a fantasy setting, maybe the poor folk receiving mail are illiterate, but it seems like everyone can read and write. So why is this guy reading us our mail? 😂
Well in the case of a pamphlet that's probably not sealed, why would you seal something like that if you're probably gonna send out dozens of them, it makes sense why he knew whats written in it, perhaps has even gotten one himself. Now if he would know what's written in an actual letter, rather than a pamphlet, but even in the case of Calcelmo's Note, that you can get if you find or buy any dwarven item in a town, he only states "A note, from someone named Calcelmo" As a matter of fact the pamphlet is the only instance i can recall, where the courier knew what was written in the letter.
One time the neighbors kid came over to our house and opened our mailbox, grab our mail and said "you got mail!" My aunt siting behind me said,"that's a federal offence"to the kid I I started dying 😂

@@jeremycheney142 the beacon spawns in a random boss chest so you can technically get it early, but funnily enough if you WANTED to get it early you don't even have a reliable way to get it. TL:DR annoying quest to complete randomly and deliberately

A courier was walking up to me in Solitude once and I didn't feel like dealing with whatever he was going to put onto my long list of quest already so I just fast traveled to Riften and dude was right there. This man followed me the entire way across the empire to hand me a note about a museum.
i got that museum quest once and really didn't want to do it, so i found a trick that avoids the quest, first you need a weapon... you kill the quest-giver NPC, and pay like 23 gold coins to the guard, he will put you outdoors and now you're free to go 👌

i completely like the expression and emphasis of your courier in this bit. & the armor and shape of the artifact was perfect. also the reverb you put on the 'beacon' when it speaks was so accurate!
I left it in the chest like 4 times and then it started appearing like every other quest. I left it a few more times and then IT SHOWED UP IN MY HOUSE! I went to store some weapons in my weapons chest in my armory and it was just chilling in there! I was finally like "you know what, fine. I will give it to you, you earned it. *proceeds to pick up Beacon*". Then I ignored the quest after that.
@@morganc.m1830 you can get mods that allow you to remove quest items from your inventory. However I was not playing with mods, it was never in my inventory. If you ignore it and don't take it from chests when it shows up it will continue to move chests until you finally find it and take it. I think it glitched tho because I don't think it should be able to move itself into a house chest. That is what happened, I left it a bunch of times and eventually it glitched out and appeared in a chest in my house.

It does make sense, I thought about it. Rumor travels fast in a land of no telephones. People like the courier are very skilled at getting from place to place, hence the constant running at you. You’re going about your life in Whiterun and the merchant sees you and trades with you. You leave, courier arrives, asks around for you and they say “I saw him leaving for dawnstar” he gets to dawnstar before you because you took the slow ass carriage. And waits. Because nobody has seen you yet.
In a way it makes sense. He might have a horse outside cities then wander inside asking around for you. People who seen you give him directions and he'll find you....always.... even when you're in the middle of the wilderness

Quick note the courier in skyrim can actually deliver meridia's beacon meaning the courier most likely had to fight tooth and nail with either bandits, drauger, mages or a combination of any of them just to retrieve that beacon

I've had him mid dragon fight just pip up to tell me some family member died and I'm getting an inheritance, a museum opened up, plus I have a letter here from a "friend" all at the same time as somehow I avoided his butt for so long. Anyways, insta death by blood dragon by the time I'm able to get through all those. Even when trying to skip his dialogue crap.
I once had a courier 3v1 two dragons and a giant, he killed all three and then gave me my letter of inheritance before running off to get into a fight with a group of horkers

The beacon always appears in a random dungeon chest when your guard is at its lowest and you brain autoloots the entire chest. Suddenly you're being told to head to southwest skyrim and you can't remove it.
Once, I had a currier run up to me that was being chased by 3 wolves, a giant, 4 bears,2 mountain trolls, and a frost dragon, and was still determined to give me a letter from the jarl of falkreath.
Bro I pickpocketed a quest item to sell it after and it became permanently a part of my inventory because it was marked as a quest item…If you couldn’t tell the quest was already finished.

I find the simplest way to get rid of it is to take it to her statue, put it in place and then do a runner. The one that gets me is how the Dark Brotherhood assassin finds you even when me being in that area was a random event.
I'm still in my first playthrough of Skyrim, some time ago I was trying to figure out a puzzle in the vampire castle and went to sleep for an hour in a random coffin. I woke up in this random Jigsaw trap in some abandoned shack on the mainland, don't mess with the Dark Brotherhood, they'll find you.
That quest is dope man. I'm always syked to become deff from Meridia. The sword fucks with drauger and vampires to the extreme. (just need mods to make it look good)
I personally think of Skyrim Couriers as the Fantasy version of the looney Tune's Road Runner: they get to where they need to go and to Sovengard with the lot of you....

I love how aggressive that thing gets if you ignore it for long enough.
I left it in the chest like 4 times and then it started appearing like every other quest. I left it a few more times and then IT SHOWED UP IN MY HOUSE! I went to store some weapons in my weapons chest in my armory and it was just chilling in there! I was finally like "you know what, fine. I will give it to you, you earned it. *proceeds to pick up Beacon*". Then I ignored the quest after that.
@@morganc.m1830 you can get mods that allow you to remove quest items from your inventory. However I was not playing with mods, it was never in my inventory. If you ignore it and don't take it from chests when it shows up it will continue to move chests until you finally find it and take it. I think it glitched tho because I don't think it should be able to move itself into a house chest. That is what happened, I left it a bunch of times and eventually it glitched out and appeared in a chest in my house.

Rumor travels fast in a land of no telephones. People like the courier are very skilled at getting from place to place, hence the constant running at you. You’re going about your life in Whiterun and the merchant sees you and trades with you. You leave, courier arrives, asks around for you and they say “I saw him leaving for dawnstar” he gets to dawnstar before you because you took the slow ass carriage. And waits. Because nobody has seen you yet.
In a way it makes sense. He might have a horse outside cities then wander inside asking around for you. People who seen you give him directions and he'll find you....always.... even when you're in the middle of the wilderness
I always figured he was a low skilled mage with unlimited stam. Pop clairvoyance every once in a while and never stop running

Quick note the courier in skyrim can actually deliver meridia's beacon meaning the courier most likely had to fight tooth and nail with either bandits, drauger, mages or a combination of any of them just to retrieve that beacon
The courier's subtle sway gets me every time.

I've had him mid dragon fight just pip up to tell me some family member died and I'm getting an inheritance, a museum opened up, plus I have a letter here from a "friend" all at the same time as somehow I avoided his butt for so long. Anyways, insta death by blood dragon by the time I'm able to get through all those. Even when trying to skip his dialogue crap.
I once had a courier 3v1 two dragons and a giant, he killed all three and then gave me my letter of inheritance before running off to get into a fight with a group of horkers
He found me in the sea of ghosts...

The beacon always appears in a random dungeon chest when your guard is at its lowest and you brain autoloots the entire chest. Suddenly you're being told to head to southwest skyrim and you can't remove it.

I find the simplest way to get rid of it is to take it to her statue, put it in place and then do a runner.
The one that gets me is how the Dark Brotherhood assassin finds you even when me being in that area was a random event.
I'm still in my first playthrough of Skyrim, some time ago I was trying to figure out a puzzle in the vampire castle and went to sleep for an hour in a random coffin. I woke up in this random Jigsaw trap in some abandoned shack on the mainland, don't mess with the Dark Brotherhood, they'll find you.

Quest items dont take any space in ur inventory as long as they are needed for the quest
