  • Although not my last EVER art haul, this will be the last monthly one - I just cannot justify the costs of buying art supplies that I do not need. But this one is a good one to start 2024 with, and I will share future 'hauls' as and when enough smaller packages of art supplies arrive. It'll just be a bigger video every few months I suspect!
    Let me know what your favorite item is in this art haul, and thanks for watching!

    I purchased mini Art pallets from Temu for more reasonable prices. I bought one from Esty for $25 it was warped. It took so long to deliver, I found out it was coming from China. Buying from Temu cuts off the middle man.
    If you like tiny watercolor pads, Temu, has them at amazing prices and they are the same watercolor pads sold on Etsy and Amazon.
    Thank you for sharing your haul! I love Caran d’Ache neocolor ll watercolors. If you haven’t purchased the palette, white one side smooth and the best side textured. It’s wonderful to turn the color to watercolor paint.
    Have an amazing new year! Fran from Tennessee

      Hi Fran! Thank you for leaving a comment. I try to stay away from Temu, because of the ethics that are reported by many on their business practices (I know designers who have had their work ripped off by Temu) but I do appreciate that for some it is a great option. 😎
      Wishing you a wonderful new year too - how are we in March already? 🤯

      Hi Susan! Good to hear you finally have some sunshine - we're still gray clouds and cold air here but at least it isn't raining! 😎 Glad you enjoyed the haul, it was a good one to 'finish' on so to speak wasn't it? Hope your weekend was good? Mine was low-key out and about walking 🥾 which is always a good weekend activity! Big hugs! 😘

    So many goodies 😍. Don’t you just love it when they arrive? That tiny magnetic palette, they sell them on Temu. They’re not expensive either. I bought two different sizes. Thank you for sharing your haul. I think I got just as excited as you did. Next trip to the UK, I’m going to Jackson’s. 🫶

    i know hauls probably get a ton of views, but i really do appreciate your desire now to use what you have! i do the same thing a lot of times, i buy a dearth of items and for maybe 3 weeks i get the supplies in. then i don't want anything for half a year and i go wild again :P but it works for me! i really liked your recent video about the pastels you bought. i doubt i'd ever get into the medium for a few reasons but the way you described the colors made me really happy :3 its nice to see people not only use what they buy but feel genuinely pleased by the item itself for time after.

    • @eviedivadoodles
      @eviedivadoodles  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Phillip. Maybe you should explain to me why you believe that recycling is 'awful for the environment'? 🤔 And insofar as the second part of your comment: I use art supplies because they bring me joy and peace when I need to be away from 'the real world' and all that entails. I use clothes, because it is expected that we don't walk around unclothed for all and sundry to see our bits. And I don't 'pretend' to care for the environment. I DO care. It's why I reuse things again and again. It's why I try not to buy food that isn't grown in the country I live in and seasonal, its why I buy from charity shops and thrift stores in order to not buy more fast fashion that exists just to line the pockets of greedy shareholders... I could go on.. but I think the only important thing to note is that I DO CARE... I don't PRETEND to, I DO.

      Ignore those people, art suppliers are part of the economy and we support them by purchasing art materials we want and love with our hard earned money. There is nothing wrong with consumerism once we are not in debt and know our purpose on this planet is to enjoy doing what we love. I have a dull high paying day job and love to art as a hobby buying exactly what I want to use when I want to use it. I personally don’t trawl websites but click and spend based on TH-cam hauls. So love these videos. Am down for spending on art, Lego, books and experiences allllllll dayyyyy long. The reward for working!

      @@littlebear3879well said. Also, I find art hauls a great way to determine whether I really want/need a particular item. Many a time I’ve thought “I’d like to try that” and then it’s shown on an art haul/review and I’ve decided I don’t (either like or need) want the item any more. Or it validates my initial desire. Aha! You should know Phillip that I am a hardcore socialist! 🤣 And actually? I don't give too hoots whether or not I can or can't have something... or whether someone else can / can't / should / shouldn't... What I CARE about is making sure that everyone has an opportunity, that people aren't pushed aside and told they can't just because of circumstance.
      My main business is teaching people around the world how to design and make clothes - with a sustainable focus (I know, you don't like that work 🤣). I earn a good amount of money from the high RPMs that advertisers pay to reach my US readers. And with that income? I can continue to create the very best (and FREE) content for those around the world who can't afford to go to school to learn those skills.
      Quite a few people have taken my teachings to go and create dressmaking businesses for themselves, and are able to support their small family because of it. I get nothing from that - just the joy of knowing I've helped people create a life they love.
      But that's me being a socialist, because why should I keep my knowledge and skills to myself when I can help others...?
