- Logan the Irish Wolfhound just over a year old at Dog shows. He loves meeting new people and dogs. Logan passing his CGN testing, what a good boy. We should all be as happy and friendly as Irish Wolfhounds this world would be a much better place! We should be an Ambassador for our breed , they are amazing animals and everyone should know it. Nothing better than Wolfie kisses

That is one good-looking and happy looking dog. He seems very self confident.
My first memory of a dog was my father's Irish Wolfhound. Dad used him for hunting primarily and breeding - usually to Scottish Deerhounds other farmers had - produced a faster hunter but more robust than deerhounds, for taking down the kangaroos. Spike may have been a hunter/killer but was amazingly gentle and loving with the family. He made really old bones too - passing just shy of his 17th birthday - Dad reckoned Spike could still catch foxes when he was 15 - mind you - only the old foxes ...
I owned another wolfhound when I had my own family - Harry. I successfully completed CD training with him and he collected some ribbons and a trophy. His favourite trick was to have a drink and soak his beard in the bowl and then trot over to where you were sitting and smooch - like getting swabbed by a wet wiry mop. Irish wolfhounds have the deepest, soulful eyes and a nose like a bowler hat. I so miss him, passed when he was just 8 yrs from bloat while recovering at the Vet's after a bowel hernia - would have another wolfie in a heartbeat. Your Logan is a great example of the breed - he moves beautifully - love to see him hunt but sadly those days seem to have gone by - they are truly magnificent in full pursuit.
What a handsome hound. I hope my wife hasn't seen this video. If she does she'll want to add a Wheaton to our pack.

They don't hunt nothing anymore but they are a beautiful breed a gentle giant. Super good with babies.

Wheaten is my favorite color of Irish wolfhound. I love that you were allowed to show him in a halti, so much easier on their necks.

Used by some for better control. But alittle more training would be better.
