- Sonic Lost World was Sega’s attempt at bringing a new formula to the Sonic franchise in the 2010s, and the reaction from the fans was divisive to say the least. There are plenty of arguments for both sides to the point where I’m not entirely sure if there’s a definitive answer for Lost World’s actual quality, just people who either love it or hate it. Personally, I love it. In fact, it was my first ever 3D Sonic game, but I can definitely see the cracks in the game. As for Charriii’s video, it’s pretty alright. Nothing particularly exceptional but also nothing outright horrible or even that bad. I believe he said at the end that this was to commemorate his one-year anniversary of doing EWWs, and honestly, he did a decent job.

Okay, so I know I said at the end that I couldn't get the NiGHTS DLC, but literally right after recording that, I checked the inside of the box and found the code for the DLC. It said it was expired, but I typed it into the Eshop and it worked! The NiGHTS DLC is mine! In any case, thoughts on Lost World?
Not my cup of tea for a Sonic game. But I do like Sonic's feistiness and savagery, Tails, the music, and Eggman threatening the Zeti.
Lost world is a fun game. Despite Similar to Super Mario galaxy. The story is very decent, gameplay is also fun.

@@theoriginalmagalor3DS Desert Ruins act 1 is not that bad. Sure, the controls of the Asteroid Wisp could be a bit better, but i've seen worse acts from that version. Like Frozen Factory Act 2 and Silent Forest act 3.

Actually, in the Japanese translation, it's stated that Eggman resurrected the Deadly Six. Meaning the Zeti were extinct long before LW.

Agreed to an extent, it would be nice if they showed something recording the action like many other media so it doesn’t look weird.
Besides, if Mania existed, they could’ve used the camera badnik. And it’s dynamic camera angles is a funny node to it coming from a TV studio level.

I might or might not make it to the premiere but I am excited for this video. Lost world is really underrated, there are some things that I do dislike like the deadly six (their theme is a banger though), and some levels are annoying LIKE THAT F*CKING SNOW BALL LEVEL. I was honestly expecting you to put that level in best and worst levels in the sonic games from that video. Also what is your favourite and least favourite level from the 3ds version.
That was a great video there. Since I now own the 3DS version of Lost World, the question is: Should I REALLY give it a test run?
Lost world is underrated in my mind, i played through it recently and I think its really good, only bad thing is the final special stage but thats not that bad.

Ah, this game. Sega's version of Super Mario Galaxy. It's OK. The plot is… not-so-great, let's put it that way. Another Sonic game I need to play though (because my family is in a very poor state), but even so, I got several pros and cons out of it.
Loves:
-The music (as usual). I personally like Snowball Waltz (Frozen Factory Act 2), Island Relics (Silent Forest Zone 4), and Dragon Dance (Sky World Act 2).
-Eggman's character in this game. We get to see a bit more through his personality, including his sidekicks, like Orbot not liking to work for Eggman, as shown in the Tropical Coast and Sky World cutscenes. Also, the way he is able to fight by himself without hiding behind his mechs all the time, when he was able to run fast enough from the Zeti after they thrashed his Egg-Mobile AND fast enough to keep up with Sonic. And that cutscene from Frozen Factory, oh boy, the threatening side of Eggman we love just finally woke up from its slumber on that cutscene. That comeback he gave when the Zeti called him fat, oh wow. And how he process to punch and break a screen of ice with his BARE HANDS. (His hands do are gigantic to be fair) Eggman was the best in this game.
-The Deadly Six, actually only Zazz, Zik and Zavok, the rest are just there for comedy. "Why Zazz and Zik?" you may ask. Well, the fact he seems to have a strong bond with Zavok, mainly for destroying things, and his villainous insanity is just awesome. Zik has that same bond too, since he is Zavok's - and the rest of the gang - sensei. The honor he has with Sonic on the Tropical Coast Act 4 cutscenes, he's not even fully wanting to destroy Sonic like Zavok wants to, but also test his worth to let Zavok know, and on battle when he says "Your master should be proud.", recognizing how powerful Sonic is.
Now let's talk about Zavok. "Discount Bowser" jokes aside, this guy's even better than Bowser. I once saw a comment about Bowser vs Zavok saying: "Bowser's villain character was driven because of a love that doesn't love him back (Peach). Zavok's, on the other hand, was driven by hatred of Eggman for just walking into his planet and slaving his and his group with a mythical conch God knows how he found it, and the desire of destroying everything." The Sky World Act 2 cutscene, that evil laugh, oh my. Those factors makes him one of the best villians in he Sonic franchise for me.
-(Edit, forgot to add) I also like the "main hero starts to get through intense suffering including the loss of his friends" situation Sonic goes through in this game. When Sonic says "I was supposed to be the fastest, but I was too slow to save my buddy.", for instance. That line was so well directed. It's so heartbreaking. It gives a feeling like if Tails died and Sonic is mourning his death or something. 😥😥
Now, let's get onto the hates, shall we?
Hates:
-I feel like the plot was too rushed, especially about the Lost Hex. We get no information about it, how it came to exist, and the Deadly Six. Lack of lore about it, basically.
-As you all expected…
TAILS'. CHARACTER. IN THIS GAME. 😡😡 HE'S BEEN REDUCED TO A WHINNY OBNOXIOUS BRAT IN THIS GAME THAT ONLY COMPLAINS ALL THE TIME!! THAT CUTSCENE WITH SONIC, TAILS AND EGGMAN INSIDE HIS BASE, OH MY GOD, THAT TRIGGERS ME! - Okay, not that much, BUT IT'S STILL FRUSTRATING! - As Sonic from the OVA movie would say "SHUT UP TAILS!!" HE STRAIGHT UP DISSES EGGMAN OUT OF NOWHERE AND PICKS A BONE WITH HIM FOR NO REASON!! NOT EVEN THE CHAOS CUTSCENE FROM FORCES COULD COMPARE TO GAME'S TAILS!!
Well, that was my review. 6.5/10. Would try it out. Not the 3ds version tho.

Why are you dissing Tails in this game, why are you expecting him to work with someone who TRIED TO CONQUER THE WORLD AND KILL HIM, The way Tail is acting towards Eggman is really believable
@@koffibentum7452 Yes, but 1: as Charriii said in another sin, there has been a truckload of times were they HAD to work together. Sure, a huge portions of them were "out of desperation" as Eggman said in Frontiers, but the rest of them were trying to save the whole world from a serious crisis, and they didn't bother having his help around then.
2: Tails may be a child, but he's still a super genius. He should know better than to be sassy instead of focusing on the mission which was to save their world from DYING.
3: I get that Tails was fearing Sonic wouldn't trust him, now that Eggman was on their side, but again, they've worked together before and Sonic didn't see Tails as the useless one back then, why would he see it now?
Plus, it's been a long while since I posted this comment and my feelings about it had mellowed a little.

I think they're cool. Nothing amazing but still fun.
Yeah. But the disappointing thing about them is there are not any cutscenes in them, no explanation of how he got to these places, and no coversations with them either.

Well, I like Roger because he's just fun. I like how he portrays Sonic's confidence better than both Ryan and Jason who I thought were kind of cheesey. Granted, he still has yet to truly hit the serious side like Jason has, but hopefully Frontiers fixes that.

I've played both versions of Lost World but I prefer the 3DS version because I have more memories of playing that version.
While yes the Wii U version did have the DLC stages and I did enjoy the Yoshi and Zelda stages (never got to play the NiGHTS stage due to losing the paper that had the code), the 3DS version had actual Special Stages which were both fun and challenging (although the challenge came from the controls and getting all S Ranks). Sure the 3DS Special Stages are pretty annoying (more specifically annoying to S Rank in later stages) but at least it's easier to get them on 3DS compared to hunting down Red Star Rings in stages that you aren't really meant to explore. Also the 3DS version gets a boppin' Special Stage theme that makes up for the dizziness that comes from playing said Special Stages.
That said, Lost World as a whole was an interesting concept... it just lacked a lot of things to make it great. But it's clear the Deadly Six were suppose to be main stays for the series given how often Zazz and Zavok appear alongside the other members of the Deadly Six and also the fact the IDW Comics wrote each of the Zeti in ways that both makes them interesting and threatening given what happened during both the Zombot incident and after said incident.

While I don’t think that’s an issue with LW, but more so the series as a whole, it still would’ve been appreciated as LW does still take place after.
Even then, it’s not like Sonic is going to ask Eggman how he escaped since he didn’t know but still.
I don't mind that Zavok being awesome villain character instead of Eggman but I have issues with zavok because lot of fans hate him for saying that he's a ripoff bowser. I just wish that deadly six won't be returning sometime soon after team sonic racing.

Well I know tails isn’t usually sassy and a bit of a brat but to be fair he’s working with the guy who not tried to only conquer the world multiple times but also tried to kill them multiple times. Then again I still admit that tails is still a bit botched in this game
Well isn't Super Mario Galaxy's level design entirely based on the gravity switching and multiple planets, adventure 2 has that one level similar to Galaxy

But Super Mario Galaxy was conceived as Super Mario 128 a sequel to Mario 64 released for the n64 add on. Nintendo wanted to make mario WALK ON A ROTATING SPHERE SET IN SPACE. And because it was back in the late 90s before SA2 Sonic technically still copied Mario.

Ah, Sonic Lost World. Definitely a divisive game in the series. Personally speaking, I like this game. It's not one of my favorite games in the series, but for what it is, I still enjoy it. The story is fine (though it could have explained some things), the gameplay is good and fun, the levels are mostly fun, the boss battles, while easy, are still fun, and the soundtrack as per usual for Sonic is great. As for the Deadly Six, while they are ok villains in my eyes nowadays, I still like them, especially Zavok, Zazz, and Master Zik. Also, fun fact, Sonic Lost World was the very first Sonic game I've ever played. The 3DS version to be specific. I played the Wii U version quite a few years later afterwards.

While I don’t really like how cartoonish the story is and some of the environments, and some of the character writing is absolutely atrocious; Sonic Lost World is still a fun game to me. Plus the art style and graphics are still pretty gorgeous to look at. Even if I prefer the more urbanized, realistic locales and looks of the games that predated Lost World. Plus the soundtrack is a bop as usual. Too bad this game also gave us the Deadly Six. At least by 2023, it seems SEGA has stopped trying to force Zavok into the plot of every game. Besides that, both the Wii U and 3DS versions are pretty good in my opinion.

It’s still, along with him and Sonic in general in this game, very clunkly executed.
Like it’s impossible for Tails to act like this, but it still feels out of nowhere since he’s normally humble, and nothing right then, not even him thinking about Sonic rather working with Eggman, lead to him acting like this.
It could’ve been an internal dialogue through out the last few cutscenes or even just better handling Sonic realizing he is in the wrong in the final act and Tails’ way of talking about he could do it. Maybe give him internal dialogue about what happened. Basically, they could’ve made this story partly in Sonic’s perspective only. It would explain why we didn’t get answers like, how did Eggman escape the void Y’know.

This area never made sense for me since it’s a planet that most likely turns. So how is the machine always in the same place? And if it isn’t, the area was never explained to be upside down or something, so Eggman falling to earth from it doesn’t make sense. If we didn’t have the older titles, and SEGA wasn’t worried about being consistent with many 2000s games (Even though they really weren’t that inconsistent in real world physics compared to the classics) then I would’ve not mind as Sonic would’ve been always cartoony in that universe.
But it’s not in our world, to this extent, before Colors or maybe Unleashed.
Sonic Lost World, my 4th favorite Sonic game. Ilreally like the Mario Galaxy-esck design and the visuals and how it subverts the grass world, desert world, snow world fire world desighn that most Mario games have. The Deadly Six while not the best villains are fine for what they are. I acsually got all Red rings on every stage and it was mostly fun. The only down sides are that most of the bosses are way to easy the parcour can be a little bit finicky and some Red rings can be a bitch to grab but over all i thing Lost World is a great game 8.5/10

Oho! Sonic Lost World! I really like this one! Granted I’ve only played the 3DS version which is usually disliked by most Sonic TH-camrs but I really liked it. (The special stages are one of my guilty pleasures) BUT SCREW THAT DANG SNOWBALL!
Zor (the one with the robot owl) is arguably worse, especially when you are in a road trip. Not only really annoying, but also both a pain in the ass and a pain in the neck in a way. It may have a better final boss than the console version, but the gyro controls are pretty shit, especially against Zor.

It's not too hard if you have all the room to move around and got the hang of the gyro controls, but it's still the worst fight overall,due to how annoying it is to fight. Zeena can be a pain to fight, but at least you don't have to twist yourself just to get the right owl mech.

also damn these cutscenes gave me some nostalgia. i remember renting the 3ds version of the game from fanily video, and i had a lotta fun with it. i agree the story could've been executed better but from what all i played, it was fun (huge fan of the quake and lightning wisps. they're really cool powers)

I like Sonic being stretch and sqaush. It's part of his look and personality that I love about him. What I'm not a fan of Lost World making the game's artstyle similar to Mario. There's no problem, it looks good. But in a series where you're trying to be the opposite of mario and 1-up him, yet imitate his style is pretty jarring for long time fans. Not a bad style, just (in my opinion), not right for this franchise.

Sin 1: Crash 4 explained how Cortex and N. Tropy escaped because it was an integral part of the new story and was paramount in setting up the new rebooted timeline. Sonic Lost World is not like that so it's not going to waste time explaining something that doesn't affect the story as a whole.
Sin 2: I'm glad someone understands that it's the execution of the cliche that matters. However, did Eggman execute it poorly? I don't see how he did.
Sin 6: You would only be right if I brought up information from those comics, but I didn't. I used information from a later scene in the game.
Sin 11: I literally offered an explanation for it. Eggman could be studying the cutscene for information. Did you not hear me?

I mean the wii u version was my very 1st sonic game, so I have a little nostalgia. But the zeti's, beside zavok and Master Zik, are kinda one note stereotypes, the wisps making no sense being on the lost hex, and the sonic is kinda cringey. But Eggman being intimidating, Orbot being funny, Cubot Having a better voice then in colors (his colors voice was annoying in my opinion), The Parkour is Awesome, though underutilized, the bosses (Besides Zenna's first boss fight) Are great, and Bringing back the old Badniks/Mechs

There's three things about this game I (and possibly the fans) dislike .
1) Tails' (And everyone else's) characterization.
2) The humor.
3) The Deadly Six.
Tbh This game feel like a 3d classic sonic game why? Because There is TOO MANY CLASSIC IMAGERY to the point that it's doesn't fit modern sonic. The concept for lost world has classic sonic and then later change into modern sonic. I feel like this game was originally a 3d classic sonic game then later become a modern sonic game.
Someone even made a mod of classic Sonic being in this game and he fits perfectly

The only thing I like about this game is the jokes aka Sonic's insults to the villains and the emotional moment between Sonic and Amy.
