Hard Eight is a great lowkey film. Really looking forward to it. Inherent Vice is an awesome 70s set flick when you except the first watch is a bit confusing and really take it in on rewatches. Love it. Miracle Mile is so much fun and by all accounts, this releases is a significant visual upgrade. Definitely getting that and Snake Eyes.
Man, I would LOVE for Dark City to get released by Arrow Video, but honestly I'll take a nice 4k release of it from anyone. One of my all time favorite films.
I'm excited about the Nightmare on Elm Street set but I hope they release the rest of them individually like they did with the first. I love that Steelbook!!
Got Miracle Mile through your link. Thanks Ken. I remember seeing this movie as a kid and we lived near the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville Florida and every time I was outside and heard a huge jet streaking across the sky I would run for cover thinking it was a nuclear bomb 💥 😂. Then I would be like, if it was a nuclear bomb then there’d be no cover for me to run to 🤣. Such great memories 🤪.
True. Even with Halloween the Rob Zombie parts are missing. And Scream is STILL missing Scream 4. Physical Media is a slow drip sometimes (almost always). But that's good for our wallets.
The thing that gets me excited for The A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K collection is the high possibility that we'll get Uncut versions of some the films.
Arrow Video gives us their all on movie boxsets. Some studios are lazy on giving the collectors what they want. Only Arrow Video knows what collectors really really want 🔥. FACTS#
Nothing that really interests me except Dark City. There was no way Warner would give up the Nightmare movies to another label. That's too big a title for them. But if they put out Nightmare 3 and 4 as separate releases with steelbooks I'll import them. Those two are my favorites of the series.
I’m glad u finally mentioned the sho kosugy movies pray for death and rage of honor even though I have the Arrow released only new special features are commentary from the historians it would of been great to have new interviews with sho Kosugi for both movies and his son Kane Kosugi he was only on the pray for death movie and revenge of the ninja
I just want nightmare on elm street individual slipcovers with original artwork I love all the original covers ! Maybe a minor adjustment here or there would be okay but when it comes to 80’s 90’s horror I really like my original covers . Having said that I doubt wb will deliver . Thnx for the update 😉
Maybe WB will do the Elm Street set like the way Universal did the Jurassic Park set? Do it as a book with the 4k and blu ray of each movie and the movie poster of each movie to divide the discs.
@@midlevelmediaI highly doubt it too. I might have to break down and look for that DVD boxset. Then again I already own all the movies on DVD and blu-ray so I'll probably just wait for the 4Ks.
Have they ever done a snapper case blu-ray? Like with blu-ray size dimensions? lol I’d buy a snapper case 4k. I’ve been hunting down snapper case dvds lately.
I’d die if Arrow did a 4k box set of Dark City. Also, I’m happy that we’re getting a 4k of Hard Eight. I’ve always hoped that Criterion would do a blu-ray but if PTA or DOP Robert Elswit supervise the transfer I’d be happy with it.
This undoubtedly the golden age for Transfers/product quality for movies. Make the most of it as it will be the last. I doubt we’re getting 8K releases.
We got individual slips for the Rocky films in the UK. Looking fwd to Dark City. I don’t mind comedies but not sure they have chosen the better comedies.
Hey Ken 👋 Definitely buying Gladiator II on 4k Steelbook now Blade....I have the slipcover of Blade 4k but that Steelbook is looking real good & I'm a Steelbook collector but I gotta think about that 😉
U should put that neverending story 4k box set right next too nightmare on elm street sign😂 because it’s the next best thing to happen since that set! 😆

I really hope we get nightmare on elm street 4k collection definitely will buy it i still hope we get a box set or get them all in in separate cases i not big fan of one case with all of em in one
@21:24 May be unpopular opinion, but I think selling 3 different packages for 1 title is ridiculous. Either package the DVD with the blu-ray, or package the blu-ray with the 4K. Personally, I think blu-ray + 4K makes the most sense.
I got for hanukkah presents- willow 4k steelbook, haunted 4k, below 4k, no country from old men 4k, terrifier 3 4k, ted 4k, the faculty 4k, the gift 4k. Getting snakeseyes Nicholas cage 4k, internal affairs 4k
Honestly for nightmare in Elm Street I wish they released them individually because I have the DVD box set. I would only upgrade 4 and 3 because those are my favorites. For me personally, I feel like the whole box. It is not worth upgrading.
Ken, I understand your frustration with WalMart shipping their steelbooks in a bubble mailer, but I don’t hear you stating the exact, if not worse, Amazon shipping of steelbooks. I’ve had a couple arrive in just a paper envelope only to have the delivery guy just drop it on a concrete floor outside my door. At least the ones I have received from WalMart weren’t banged up due to poor packaging and poor delivery agents.
Got some steelbooks from gruv and man, a couple of them came absolutely mangled! First time I’ve ordered steelbooks from them. Hoping this isn’t a normal thing.
I’d email them, I’ve bought several steelbooks and movies(couple hundreds of $$) and when I’ve had issues they’ve always made it right. Very happy with their service overall.
If Elm Street doesn’t have all the special features that the dvd and blu ray had then I’ll pass on the 4k set. For me it’s not the packaging but the movies
Don't forget about Sony always being on the higher priced side of the studio releases. Everyone always brings up Disney's prices and now Lionsgate, but Sony has always had the higher prices, especially with their steelbooks.
I don't trust WB to give us quality discs that won't rot on the vine. TOMMY BOY is a must-have. I'll even get BLACK SHEEP; there's some decent gags in it (falling down the entire mountain being one of them). Not interested in WICKED, but HARD EIGHT is very promising. I'll grab that one easy. Same with BLADE as I don't have it yet.
We Need a 4k steel book Collection of all the ANOES movies Ken like the Rambo steel book collection I'd buy it with the never sleep again documentary that blade steel book oh I would love that Ken it looks cool
Here's further proof that I'm as old as I look: I saw the Lords of Flatbush in the theatre as part of a double bill with the film version of the Who's rock opera, Tommy. I seem to recall it was OK but nothing special. Pre-Rocky Sly was much better in Death Race 2000. 😁
Packaging doesn't matter to me all that much but good gawd the 4K multi-disc deluxe case (5-disc+) is absolutely horrible. They need to get better cases (better supplier?). The ones used for LotR, Hobbit, Harry Potter, Matrix, and Daniel Craig sets; they fall apart so easily. The latch will give and do not latch. The teeth holding the disc break easily leading to scratch disc. There have been better made sturdier Blu-ray cases like the ones from the LotR Extended Blu-ray set (which I ended up moving my 4K discs to), but the studios (especially WB) are not using it and opt for the cheaper flimsy case. That's what we're going to get for the Nightmare on Elm Street set if WB is authoring it. Although I'm not a huge fan of DigiPack or DigiBook I would much prefer it and pray that we get that instead.
ken i think Feb 4 is too early for wicked, should br end of Feb /early March, Bit hypocritical of Universal, when the film is still doing well in the top 10 . Wicked part 2 coming November 2025

Always at the wrong studio 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ Warner brothers started the trend of NO blurays get the facts right. Thats why the suck and they cancel all digital codes. Why do you need 4K? A: special effects What kind of films have special effects? A: horror, sci-fi, & fantasy. There you go Ken. No need for 4K comedies with a few exceptions like home alone and blues brothers
Comedies that were shot digitally I agree there’s no need. Anything like Paul that I’m guessing was shot in 2K - blu-ray is fine. BUTTTTT anything shot on film is a whole different story. Be it comedy, drama… whatever. And as for special effects most times 4k exposes the quality of 2K rendered digital effects. So just because a film has special effects isn’t necessarily a reason to upgrade
Do you get paid by arrow video? Geez you mention them a lot also why not mention shout factory since they released the halloweens, Jason’s and chuckys and were great!
Arrow is number 1 in my opinion, so they would be the ones I would want to tackle it. Go check out the probably 100 videos I have praising Scream Factory and their releases. I talk about them often. Lol
Dark City was one of the first DVD’s I ever bought back in ‘98. Still have it. Looking forward to upgrading to 4K. Hope there’s a release this year.
Agreed we need a definitive Elm street collection! Including all uncut versions, and the 3D version of Freddy’s Dead! My favorite series!

Funny how nightmare took forever and was the only franchise really with no 4k
And it’ll be one of the only few that has everything on 4k haha
