As I train for the academy I think about my son everyday. I vow to keep my community safe from evil ones and if god must take me then I pray he blesses my family.

Former LEO myself. This video had me bawling after 30 seconds. My baby hadn't been born when I first started, but when she came and as she grew, I kept barely escaping situations that woukd have fit this song. She's 8 now. I've been out for 4 years. I see this and I feel torn. Glad my baby won't get a folded flag, but I also feel like I abandoned my brothers and sisters. It messes me up to think about it. I miss my Blue Family.

Today I just found out that my best friend’s dad died. 😭 She went to dance after school today and she walked in holding back tears. The moment I hugged her she balled, so did I. I never truly knew her dad, but I know her and my heart is broken into pieces. This just fully broke my heart. 💔 🙏🏻

Letters written every year by a little girl to an ordinary man that didn't ask to die, but wanted with all his soul for America to be free.
That was the whole point of her tragedy. When he got on the plane, he didn't sign up to die. He wasn't military, he wasn't trained in physical combat, and he WASN'T A POLICE OFFICER. so all these people doing him dirty, like he CHOSE his JOB (like a police officer) sickens me.
People give police and military medals and honor every day. Why? Because they chose their fate?
Then this man deserves the highest honor for doing something no one was willing to. He didn't say "I don't get paid enough." He didn't say 'it isn't my job.' he said "Enough. I might not be able to go home, but I'll be damned if you make it to her first." A completely irrational thought, yet concise and probably accurate.
So no... It isn't okay that they take this ACTUAL fallen hero's letters FROM HIS CHILD and turned it into a "let's worship those that chose to give everything," and it sickens me.

My dad is a cop and a year from retirement, I am grateful for my dad being a cop and that God kept him safe all these years and I just wish i could have followed in his and my grandad's footsteps.

I was looking things up for my criminal justice class when I came across this video. Even though I haven't lost anyone like this I have lost my own father to cancer when I was 13. I am now 27, so hearing these girls talk to their father it hits home very much. I too have tried to be strong for my mother and my siblings. Though it is hard because there have been so many times where I question myself if I can do it or not.
This Made my HEART Shatter, I miss my Grandma, She was a leader of our Boy scout and Girl scout, She Helped me with everything, That's why I made her proud, We got 3 Championships in a row!

My dad was a police officer as well as i am too. Im also a volunteer Firefighter for my community. i love doing both. Every Christmas, in honor of both, i hang a string of solid blue Christmas lights and a string of red Christmas lights. They are a memorial. The blue is not only for my dad, but also for all of the fallen officers around the world. The red is for all the fallen Firefighters around the world that lost their lives. Thank you for your sacrifice.

My friends dad died a year ago from a cardiac arrest, but he sounded like a great dad. I feel so bad for her. She came into school and I went over to her and we both cried hugging each other. Losing someone is hard, but know that they are in a better place now.

I couldn’t finish it. In 27 years, so far, I have lost 6 good friends. 4 in 2 years, 3 in 2 months, and 2 in one moment. This made me remember their children and my own. I made a promise to my wife and children that I will always come home to them, one promise I will never break. I pray everyday for Gods protection over us and for us to make it home in the same condition we left. I pray I will never break my promise to my family.
