I’ve been a cop for about 12 years. One very liberal anti police town and now a very conservative more pro leo area. This is one of my favorite videos ever made about our career.

VERY TRUE. WE RISK OUR LIVES FOR TOTAL STRANGERS. WE SEE PEOPLE AT THEIR WORST. WE SEE THE MOST HORRIBLE THINGS NO ONE COULD EVER IMAGINE. AND THEN WE GO HOME. WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH WHAT WE SEE. THERE ARE BAD PEOPLE OUT THERE. AND THERE ARE BAD COPS. BUT I HAVE TO BELIEVE THAT . WE . GOOD COPS OUTNUMBER THOSE. Added.. 08/11/2023.. Still working today.. almost 27 years.. I love my job.. I hate my job.. Its how I am. I have raised a family, sent my kids off to college and still pay my bills and still owe too much in taxes.. I am a Navy Veteran Corpsman of 8 years prior to being a cop. I have seen so much...More than any human should.
I believe that 99.9% of cops are good people, doing a hard underappreciated job

God bless u. And thank u for what u do. But unfortunately I'm not so sure you "Good" outnumber the "bad" anymore. When the "good" don't cover for the "bad" and lie and cheat collect revenue off of extremely petty things and lie manipulate police reports and body cam footage goes "missing" all the time or "wasn't recording" etc. Its extremely rare now when a cop "de-escalate" it's mostly "ESCALATE" and it will continue and keep getting worse until they end qualified Immunity and cops are held responsible for their "wrong dueings" ..I kno not all cops are bad. But there getting worse. Its a serious problem in America! Again thank u for what u do and God bless.

To the seven of you who disliked this video, don't bother calling 911 for help. They have more courage and competence than you will ever have. And it's people like you who give them a bad name for no apparent reason other than the fact that they are Police Officers.

If this is what you believe I sincerely hope you don't work on any police force. You are exactly what is wrong with policing if you are. You want anyone with an opinion contrary to yours to be silenced, and that is as un-american as it gets. It tells me you do NOT respect the constitution you may or may not be sworn to uphold. Boot-licking isn't patriotism and it certainly doesn't help make meaningful changes.
My brother is featured in this video, so proud of him and the amazing work that him and his fellow officers do daily.

The irony is half the "madness" that goes on is caused by officers. Unfortunately they can't be trusted anymore, and worse everyday. We need officers like this followed by actions to show it...

Now I hear nothing about BLM anymore, been that way for the past 4 months completely vanished.. Ever since BLM I’ve seen more support for Police which is amazing. Thanks to BLM the Trust in police percentage went up from 2020 to 2021
I remember been a kid riding with my parents in there car. Me and my brother would get excited when a cop car would drive past us waving at them with a big smile.

Cops have the toughest job on the planet. Often alone. My respect for these officers is immeasurable.

I'm here after the George Floyd death. Very sad indeed and I'm glad the officers got fired. I stand with the police, the good officers who will protect and serve the public with no regards to their own safety. Thank you to all serving and retired officers

As a major city policeman in the US i have saved alot of lives amd helped i dont k ow how many yet have stayed quiet and humble about it. For all those who want to voice hate against us....now is your chance. We are All hiring.
The fact that every one of these heroes doesn’t walk off the job right now is just another testament to their character. Thank God for the police. They protect those that mistreat and disrespect them everyday, all day and all night. To all the good police I wish my my heartfelt gratitude and thanks.

I missed doing this yesterday.
I forgot to recognize our Law Enforcement Officers. Those who wake up every day, pin a target on their chest and set out to protect what is in large part a very ungrateful society. When we need them, we’re always so upset they didn’t show up fast enough, but otherwise we don’t want to see them. We gripe when we get a ticket, even though we know we deserved it. And we violently attack and and all of them for the wrongs of a few. We’re quick to point out the misconduct, but turn a blind eye to the thousands that do the good work every day.
When there’s danger, like we saw here in Vegas on 1 October, while everyone frantically runs away, it was our brave men & women who ran towards the gun fire. There were many who were off duty that night, but upon hearing the call they grabbed their badge & gun and ran into the danger. Thinking only about how to save. Would you? Would I? But they do this all the time. They confront the monsters and they see people at their worst. Yet most somehow maintain their sanity and carry on to the next call.
Every single day they leave for work with the potential of not making it home that night. That’s one crazy freaking job! And I, for one, am grateful to all the brave men & women who’ve chosen to protect me, my family and those I love.
Every day men and women strap on their gear to protect strangers. We do this because there has got to be a better whole rather than just a sum.
I have nothing less than total respect for our amazing Police Officers. God bless you, the ones with a good heart for our professional call to serve our communities.

Amen! Policing runs in my family and growing up listening to my peers insult the police, talking about how they were going to try to put one over on the cops. My father was called upon to identify my 13 year old cousin's body that had been buried under a classmate's porch for 5 months. They called upon my dad because the level of decomposition made identifying her body especially gruesome. He did that so her parents didn't have that image of her be the last one they bad. He took on that task because it's what officers do. They clean up the bad stuff.
God bless the men and women who are in uniformed service, keep them safe. if you wear a shield join the brotherhood for the fallen. blue lives matter.

OMG. So rightfully... I'm a police officer from Romania.
As an Officer, you see the worst of people at their worst time. You deal with the 3% of society that everyone else locks their doors when they see, that shield their children from every single day. Yet, despite seeing all this everyday, you smile. You have compassion. You embrace that crying child or comfort that grieving parent. You maintain hope. Less than half of 1% of Police are corrupt, yet 100% of LEO catch their criticism. For every good Officer, we have your back, we will stand with you. God bless each of you and your families. We see you.

Still to this day there is bad mixed with the good in everything. Law enforcement officers are not to blame for the laws. It is only their job to enforce them. They are just like everyone else, they are just trying to survive in this world. Shame everyone doesnt respect cops as much as servicemen and women. They have an equally as dangerous job anymore. It sickens me TH-cam lets people upload footage of officers being murdered. It makes me feel terrible for the families of these fallen officers. I wish everyone understood this is a human life being lost and not something to be broadcasted to the public. Glad to see good cinematography on here. You guys did an exceptional job on this. there are very few things that make me cry. this video is one of them.
By no means do I LIKE all police officers, but by all means I do RESPECT what they do. About 99 percent of police come into this career with good intentions, to help those in need, and to keep you and your families safe. Unfortunately mishaps happen (some not mishaps), but if we were allowed to take a count of how many times an officer helped someone, and how many times they harmed someone, the negative view of police would be slim to none. I live in Kalamazoo im 13 and all my life have always wanted to become a Police officer with KDPS and when i become that police officer i will be very happy to serve and protect those in need. I dont wanna become a cop for the pay but for the though knowing you get to keep a community safe and or help someone every day. I would enjoy being a police officer

All absolutely true. That's how I lived my career (19 years.) I wish the administration felt the same. I operated on the theory of the test of reasonableness. If I could apply that I went with it. Some don't agree; it's either black or white in terms of applying the law. I don't believe that's how the law should be applied. Factor in mercy and commonsense.
The police are here to serve and protect us there is no reason to dislike them. My grandpa served in there air force then he served as a state trooper so I would just like to say thank you to all people in the service and all police officers

I’m a police cadet in training my dream to be an officer makes me happy for my family of what I got left I do it for them even for my cousin I lost to drugs to join the swat team will be hard but it be worth it all
I always feel safer with cops. I like under cover cops better tho. Cuz they seem more chillaxed on things like speeding. But I still feel protected. And I appreciate that.
I use to live in bad sides of towns. I am special needs because I can't read or write that well. But even though I live the bad sides of town I am still happy I had a roof over my head

How one Police Officer told me "Yes, there are people who somehow get into this profession with bad intentions. Yes, one person who carries that badge, and gun, and wears that uniform can ruin it for all of us. Regardless of department, race, and age. We're people too, we cry, we bleed, we love, and we die, we have families, we have our own religions. we're just like any normal person on the street."
She also said "You know driving down the street, especially at night is scary. Through the worst neighborhood, you never know. People think all we do is want to shoot people. That's wrong. We don't wake up saying 'Today I'm gonna take some ones life.'"
Another officer (Who is black.) Said this, "Saying all cops are racist is like saying all black people are thieves. Saying all cops are good is like saying a murderer wants you to come to their house so y'all can get closer."
