  • There were quite a few 47s and 57s working on tours and route learning towards the end of the month, with 57012 riding shotgun ahead of the Flying Scotsman's trip to York, its first day of a four day tour of the ECML. More class 180 units, looking in much better condition than Grand Central's offerings, going for storage at Ely Papworth.

Thank you for watching yet again most of the clips we saw together.😀

Thank you for taking the trouble to label the trains, David from New Zealand

It is a pretty time consuming job doing it David, taking notes then having to record it on the compiled video. The amount of individual clips that I take which are then seen in the final video may only be 50% at times so there is a lot going on at this end. I will try to keep captioning the more unusual workings in future videos, whether I extended it to the more mundane workings I don't know. I just like watching the trains go by.😁

Thanks for going to the effort of identifying the train number and journey details. A useful extra dimension. Amazing how much they can store at Ely old sugar factory sidings. Great Yarmouth carriage sidings look fully populated now.

Thank you Tom, I did (half)listen to your requests😀. I have done a few identities as I explained to @davidlee9024 below. There is usually quite a turnover of stock at Ely with things coming and going for refurbishment which makes for some interesting workings here.

@@werringtonjunction I read that steam coal is now costing the heritage railways about £500 per ton so we must savour what we can see from the lineside. Your lucky capture of Flying Scotsman was evidence of frugal use of the firebox. Rds TC

@@tomcarr1358 Oh yes, let us ban that horrible polluting coal.
Let us ruin the heritage centres, the steam rallies, the small model engineering clubs and the wider engineering leisure industry. Lets us ruin the lives of people earning a living in the engineering sector, building new machines and maintaining our heritage. Let us kick those hard working volunteers, enthusiasts and the ordinary people reliving our history where the sun don't shine for enjoying themselves and polluting the world. Don't get me started..........😠

Great video Mick. I see your marking some of the train details now which I think for the rarer and unusual services is worth it. See how it goes and whether you should increase it it not.
You also did well with some celeb liveries for my lot as well 👍🏻

Always nice to see the different liveries of the GBRf fleet. I think the occasional train details works ok, rather than putting everything in the description. To record every one as I was filming turned into a bit of a nightmare at times as there were so many trains coming at me I just lost track and gave up.😀 Thank you for watching and commenting Ben.
