    the cheap market is euro 5 diesel if your not near a ulez zone that charges, i bought a merc e250 cdi coupe with 106k and full upto date service history for £2600 from a main dealer, the small cars are over priced

      I was having this conversation today with a friend Chris and totally agree, everyone's fighting for the same small car scraps resulting in them being overpriced and unprofitable. I haven't bought any diesels at auction yet because the potential pitfalls scare me, but l have had to start to consider that market if they go for the right prices.

    Chops, if it’s the same as the older seat’s - if you drop the rear seats there’s a slot above the lock, put a screwdriver in it and slide to the left to open manually. Then you can take the panel off to investigate

    As an XF owner myself I would say its not the car to go for if fuel economy and low running costs are your top priority - a Yaris would be a better option🙂 The XF has a many other qualities that I personaly am willing to pay a little more for in terms of fuel and running cost although I've changed the pads and discs myself which is not difficult and reduces costs. The Seat looks OK providing the body repairs aren't too spiteful! but you've a few contacts in that area now.

    The Seat looks a good deal, just a couple of things (which you may already know or have sorted) my daughters Leon boot seemed not to open but it had just stuck to the rubber seal - so didn’t seem to release when trying the handle. Secondly just check the coolant bottle isn’t one with silica in, as they can cause issues.

    In Canada where i live, if the car has been in a accident our insurance will only fix it if the damage is below 70% on the value of the vehicle. They might go to 80% if the vehicle is in exceptional shape. If the damage is more then 70% - 80% it is a automatic write off. I also do not understand why people do not keep the paper work for repairs done on the vehicle. I keep everything including receipts for light bulbs.

    XF wheel wobble under braking is a common issue. The cure is to fit EBC RedStuff or YellowStuff brake pads. The TPMS module, under the seat, can also be troublesome. With the leather dash and alcantara it looks like a Portfolio trim. So, a 3.0D S Portfolio is the one to have.

      @jonathandeeley6276 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ChopsGarage if its that older 1.2 Polo you are referring to that featured on your channel then its a different engine to the modern 1.0 litre engine. Most manufacturers specify an acceptable oil consumption figure of 1 litre oil/per 1000 miles of use, that doesn't make it right or indeed that they will consume that amount of oil. If an engine consumes that amount of oil then there is something wrong with it, ie excess clearance between the bore wall and the piston rings assuming there aren't any leaks or the valve guides aren't the cause of the problem.👍

    I think your trying to be down on your auction purchase as you don't really want to go, that seat is ideal stock, what do you want mate, you rave about these lemons you buy and your down on this, get with it at the auction, fees better, go every week, get known, stop buying big old lemons mate, tbh you dare not even sell these jags, mercs, so what's the point. I'd have run a mile from that jag deal.

    I don't want to go to the auction and buy current nailed on easy prep cars, I'd rather stay here and blow 1000s on big old smokers that I dare not sell and never get done, ha, ha mate.
