Nice video pal. He return home button is difficult to get used to, I have heard that also. Interestingly the HMS Hermes was involved in the raid on Dakar if you didn’t know? Attacking the Vichy French fleet as well, she tried to sink the Richelieu. Prior to the French surrender she had done joint patrols with the French BB Strasbourg. The Merchant navy ship decoy wasn’t just due to embarrassment mate, this was a common practice to use decoys as part of military deception. It’s been done for years (and still does) with naval vessels & often in the army, in particular with tanks, vehicles & fake communications. The ‘second’ Hermes was used as a decoy to fool Axis forces that there was another CV operating in the area. The loss of the Hermes & the Vampire was very unfortunate, they were sent to RV (rendezvous) with the invasion forces for the Madagascar raid. She was ordered to offload her squadron of aircraft. By a cruel twist of fate (offloading her aircraft) when she left to sail south to meet the invasion force she was spotted, as you said by the Jap spotter plane, the British knew this beforehand & had ordered them to return, the return trip was meant to be covered by RAF & Fleet Air arm fighters, but they got there too late, and too few of them arrived, I think they only shot down a few Japanese aircraft. A sad loss. The Japanese had caught the British & Americans with their ‘pants down’ a number of times, using surprise attacks by massed carrier borne Aircraft. The Loss of the HMS’s Prince of Wales & Repulse, & more infamously the attack on Pearl Harbour.
Mate I’m not in the position to advise anyone but just in case based on my little experience can give you some useful points you could improve your skill on torp Bombers by: Set your squadrons a bit away and make proper space to aim your target ship, especially with this kind of narrow aiming cone. ***Always keep in your mind or repeat with yourself which torp squadrons you’re working with A or B( C if you’re in Kara) Angle back your aiming cones when you set the torp Bombers, give you more time to aim better Do not necessarily attack turning targets from inner circle, try outer circle if necessary Staying away from bunch of battleships and cruisers to save your planes Use return button if you can’t set the aiming properly,at the moment you can’t speed up your attack with that ,but this stuff is still quit useful 😁 Man don’t underestimate yourself, you’re great player with excellent experiences Good luck brother 👍👍👍
Actually Terry already reviewed the Indomitable but this carrier is very brain dead and takes absolutely no skill to be mastered ( the cv doesn’t get any torp bomber, only bomber, so it’s a drag and forget gameplay )
@@FunandGameswithTerry Death From Above isn't very positive about the Furious. You get fighters with it but enemy bombers and torpedo planes fly faster than the fighters and are always getting away.
Seems like the British Carriers from Tier IV-V are a bit like the Ark Royal, armed with torpedo bombers and not a lot of dive bombers. The 10% fire chance compared to the Bogue's 45% is also felt. Anyway, great video Terry!
I think British carriers are more focused on their DPM, and that's actually suitable for them because of their decent concealment and fast plane preparation. Park them behind the island and bombard the nearest enemy. I've seen some PC gameplay, and they're usually using concealment and preparation mods.
This may be a weird question to ask in a video about CVs but what line of destroyers have the best and focus the most on torpedoes? I’m currently playing the Chinese line of destroyers at tier VI and also Tier VIII Lo-Yang. Are there any ither detroyers that pack a bigger punch torpedo-wise? I’d appreciate it
When playing carriers, why not find a good spot, and put rudder hard over before clicking plane view? Then you just stay in a constant turn until you decide to change course or need to counter maneuver.
Good video Terry. Mid tier battles in golden channel…😂😂😂. One dd passes the island everyone is sent in to kill it lol. So the Hermès…what in your opinion is the best way to play her with her little air group and low fire/flooding chance
I'm far from a carrier expert, but I'd probably play her when the server is quiet, against bots... Jokes aside, I think the number of squadrons and narrow torp spread require a skilled carrier player. So far, I think the RN CVs have a skill floor at least on par with, if not exceeding, the IJNs
Ah yes, another Terry video! I personally wasn't happy how blitz was forming these carriers. I didn't like the 6 dive bombers on Hermes. Or the 6 fighters for Furious.
These are tech tree ships. You can currently purchase the Blitz pass to get early access, or wait for a month or so till the line comes out, and grind them for free.
For the cv play I would recommend to first send the torp bombers a bit away from the ship you want do drop on. During this time aim for the ship( but do not reroute their trajectory)then when the flight line is nearly perpendicular reroute those bombers and aim them for the ship And try to keep your squadron clustered in one blob as much as possible it will saturate the AA and this way you are going to loose less planes ( especially in higher tiers ) I found this vid that might better explain it than me but the quality isn’t that good th-cam.com/video/6ndZaYqtkVg/w-d-xo.html
These are pocket Japanese, I guess. It makes sense, Japanese used and copied a lot of British designs early on, although I am not sure about CVs. Also, Terry, you must be getting good in torpedo bombing. Edit: Ahahahahaha, the second battle.

A review of the premium tier 8 Indomitable would be an eye opener for many. Especially after seeing the lower tier British carriers.

Thank you for a great review Terry! Hopefully higher tiers are more powerful💪💥
I think Furious will have to deliver, otherwise I can't see this line being popular among casual CV players

That’s a fantastic historical story on this ship! Can’t wait to see your Swordfish video! Crazy the amount of history that plane type had in WW2.
In your upcoming GK video, will you look at how the new 'secondary overload' skill benefits/ changes gameplay for GK and FDG?
Not a complete analysis or anything, but I'll touch on it. "Unfiltered" videos are sort of async live streams, just me taking while I'm playing.

SWEET!🤗
Terry you need a tablet. Best purchase ever imo
She actually does look quite modern for time. Also eager to try her out when she releases.
I will start learning CV things on this ship.
Also, she is VERY VERY pretty and has quite modern look.

Ijn destroyers.the shimakaze line.
@@oddbodslist4743 thanks!
Which nation are carriers that are easy to play an pack a punch?
Couple questions: USN Des Moines with Kinkaid, IFHE or ACPS? Same question with standard commander on USN Cleveland, IFHE or APCS?
Getting slightly jaded with aircraft carrier gameplay so hopefully the British ones will revive my love for them
Fingers crossed. For me, they're definitely hard to play, and require some skill. I think Furious is where it'll get interesting.

You can try to team up with players using tier 6 ships to force the match into a t6 match.
Big brain in that 2nd game

Terry some of your torps didn't do any damage because they hit the agincourt's bow without arming

WAIT WHAT HOW IS THE KIROV A PREMIUM i thought it wasnt did they change it
Kirov and Moskva were turned premium when Petropavlovsk became the new T10
@@FunandGameswithTerry oh thx. Now I very much regret selling it ö
Been playing the crap out of these with the UK camo they give out on pass. Hermes is fun.
I played one game with Argus and Hermes. Both bot games. Wins MVPs and now both ships are museum ships in my port with 100% win rates lol
wait....Is it on Tech tree or should spend money?
(If money is in downloading the game)

We need t6 review 🤗
It looks like I'm going to hate the British carriers more than any other carrier lol
Especially when someone stomps me in one DX
🤔 But how could it be named "Hermes", when its obvious namesake, Hermes Conrad from "Futurama", didnt exist til many years later??
Kinda sucks how British carriers have a dive bombed based ship skill but has little dive bombers. I hope that higher tier carriers have more divers

So far the British tech tree carriers are objectively horrible. Knowing Wargaming that means they'll get nerfed very soon.
