Thanks for the video…the main struggle I have with her is lack of aircraft. If shes up against a Saipan, she is toast, even a Graf Zeppelin or Ranger. I got her and she’s fun and hard to play but she is nothing like her sister ship Indomitable. Im excited to see what Implacable is like. Hopefully she had more aircraft
Love to see Terry is getting better at CV. Its totally alright if you are struggling more in CV's because they are the most difficult class to handle. But with time u will get better. I remember sometimes how i used to get frustrated in CV. It happens so often. When i am focusing on fighters i used to forget torpedo bombers. When i used to focus on torp i used to forget where my ship is heading. Always ended in front of a DD some how. But u will get better. Just little bit of practice. Then u are the ruler of the match
Comparing to the Furious video, I am happy to see that you improved a lot on torpedo targeting, and CV handling in general. A few suggestions from me as a somewhat experienced CV player. 1. It's always feels a bit awkward to watch someone send only 1 torpedo bomber squadron when they have more. While you explained the difficulty of handling multiple torpedo squadrons in this video, I would still encourage you to try to send multiple, even if it doesn't work well initially. This is almost a necessary skill in order to play competitively, plus a bunch of other benefit as I mentioned in the comment in the Furious video. While you are practicing, feel free to find easier targets like battleships or cruisers as oppose to destroyers. 2. While I haven't played any British tech tree CV yet, judging from the video, the planes are quite slow compare to Japanese ones. This means you need to lead a bit more both in term of distance and **angle**. This later is often overlooked by beginners. Good CV players anticipate the next move of the enemy ships and act accordingly. 3. Be mindful about the torpedo distance when targeting. Targeting too far gives enemy time to turn away from torpedos. Targeting too close allows enemy to turn into your torpedo and they won't be armed yet. While this is difficult to get right and can depend on situations (e.g., targeting far on slow moving battleships on purpose to conserve planes), your are targeting a bit far based on my experience. Try to drop the torpedo slightly closer to the target, and you may found it hits more often. I really enjoy your video. Have a great Christmas!
Thanks a lot! I used to drop too close, I think I may have overcompensated a bit here. Good advice also with the second squadron to target e.g. BBs. I think it'll come down to being more comfortable with their speed and aim, once I don't need to adjust as much anymore, it should be easier to handle multiple squadrons. I'll keep going with the T8 & 9s, need to step up a bit as not to be a total let down for my team :)

Hi Terry, thanks for another great video. Out of interest, Indomitable's larger air group was not entirely due to use of outriggers, deckparks etc. She was in a subclass of the Illustrious design which saw a return to the double hangar concept albeit retaining deck armour. Not really a carrier player myself so my few games have been a struggle, however as you say the history here is fascinating, more so perhaps than the line's contribution to the game.
Absolutely love your videos, going back they really help me if I'm deciding to spend a few bucks to buy a ship, or if a ship is even worth grinding for. Trying to get the tier 10 hindenburg because of your video right now. Keep it up, I love your videos.

I once read that if the deck was damaged and not useable for landing or take off there were some catapults on the lower deck that could get some aircraft out, i think it was the case on the Ark Royal. So Brits CV seems to be very heavy skill and experience demanding ? Also do you know the fighter bait technique? And I wouldn’t space out the squadrons if you can cluster them then more planes get trough the AA and can get more hits And last note I promise ;) on high tiers it is very very frequent that DD flank and try to kill the CV this happened countless times so map awareness is really important
I space out the squadrons for better control, but you're right, especially in a CV that has such a small loadout, grouping them up might be better. I'm not sure if AA works by lock-on, or proximity. Need to investigate that, actually.

I think illustrious is a good carrier (except for the low number of planes) In a dogfight my fighters rarely lose. Also she has got a better detection range than the ranger. The fast reload time of the planes is also nice.
16:30 Terry, you’re terrible (pun intended). You forgot about your 2nd squad and they dropped on the fishes. Edit 1: 18:50 ouch. Come on, as a CV you always keep moving forward, and change directions sometime to stay undetected. Also, a tip: On this map as CV, start moving towards rightmost (or leftmost depending on which side you start on) cap as soon as you see no enemy going for a suicidal strategy of moving towards your flank.

I've been wanting to do that for a while, but the amount of time these take is probably an order of magnitude higher than anything I'm doing atm, so they'll be very occasional for now.
I got her too, I’m not the best CV player, but I have been deplaned on Hyruy only once, and on Illustrious I’m losing all my torp bombers every second game :( t9 Audacious is so much better with my low skill i got 97k in the very first game… All in all I like new line( i have t7 and t9), it’s well balanced and quite easy to play.
I am pretty much an all class main but also good cv player so it was nonetheless entertaining xD And hey everyone needs to learn how to get good in Cvs ( expect for Indomitable, this requires no skill )

It's definitively a challenge. Even just going up against AA can de-plane you 2/3 into the battle.

The British designers also had to account for possible fire from coastal artillery also..

Seems pretty cool and i think it relies more on the pure bomb damage instead of fires. Hopefully higher tier carriers have 2 diver squadrons.
It's hard for me to compare, but people have been raving about the T9. We'll see

I think there's reason to Indomitable, an Illustrious-class technically, to be a tier higher, but I still need to read up on the history.
