- Do you want to disable and turn off TH-cam shorts on your PC desktop. Is it possible to permanently disable TH-cam shorts? TH-cam does not have option to disable shorts permanently. So, how to hide or turn off shorts on TH-cam PC? You can disable or block Shorts for 30 days on your computer by clicking the X on the Shorts section. In this video I will show you how disable and turn off shorts on TH-cam PC. Open any web browser like Chrome, Firefox or Edge, After signing in to your youtube account, access the "Shorts" section tap "X," TH-cam will hide the "Shorts" section and say that the shelf will be hidden for 30 days. Shorts is a spam for me. I am pretty disappointed that with the fact it reappears every 30 days, plus it appears in recommendation in the top searches and blocking the space for the recommended content I want to see.

There's an extension on the Google Chrome extension webstore, just write shorts disable and you'll get what you're looking for. I've been using for the past year and it works.

There is no "X" anymore, just the 3 vertical dots, when you click on the 3 dots all you get is a "Send Feedback" link

do it from the YT homepage, don't go into the Shorts tab.
try loggin in to youtube home page, then scroll down to shorts...look for the X
Does the two colums just keep reapeering for anyone else? It still says "Shelf will be hidden for 30 days" but it keeps reapeering everytime I go onto the Home screen.

I am logged in. All I see now is a "send feedback" option. It's like they're aware that a lot of people aren't going to like this change, but they're doing it anyway.
There used to be an option to have them not show it for 30 days, but it was removed, I am assuming because everyone chose that option.

@@Lovelle1 The sad fact is, it's a more profitable model for them, or they wouldn't be stuffing it down our throats. It's been a long time since YT felt like it was for the people. I ended up having ChatGPT write me a Chrome plugin to delete them from my results.

You can no longer use this method to disable shorts for 30 days. You Tube has removed the X option and replaced it with only the feedback option. Really stinks because I absolutely hate shorts. Wish there was some way to permanently remove them for good.

I'm seeing a bunch of comments saying they have no X button. I don't either. I am sick and tired of youtube. First they prevent us from using ad blocker's, then they have innapropriate ads on their websites. This is insane. Screw youtube
