Some nice pick ups dude! Finding legit bangers at a thrift store is always so satisfying.. Here’s a little thrifting pro tip for y’all: check EVERY Wii game you come across, regardless of how crappy it appears to be. You’d be shocked at how often you’ll find a Wii sports or a Mario kart disc in the wrong case. 😉👍
Cool video. Here in the UK I stop off at a few charity shops (same thing as goodwill) once or twice a week on my walk home and 90% of the time it is old sports titles but I do find the occasional fun game. Found a copy of Guitar Hero world tour on xbox 360 and guitar bundled for £9 a few days back and last night me and my brother got it working and spent a good two hours taking turns rocking to some songs. Since covid a lot of stores stick a lot of electronics (Not just games) online but I still pop in and have a look around and find a fun game.
I’m late to the party. I normally stop what I’m doing to watch your new video, but I’ve been super busy. Still wanted to stop by and show my support. I always watch.
Yo la Tengo t-shirt!! One of my favourite bands! John as soon as you release a video honestly it's an instant click from me every time, thanks for all the great content. You're a pretty rad dude. Much love :)
I love the tycoon games as well! Every time I see zoo tycoon I never play it or get it and idk why! I will check it out now that you have brought it in to the spotlight! Great video John 🙂
Goodwill is shifting more and more stuff to their online auction site. Nothing but garbage in store now. I am getting some deals on Xbox 360 stuff online but not as good as I used to get in store. That being said, sometimes an employee will just throw some nice stuff out periodically but it’s much more rare now.
Our Goodwills send all games to a central location to be put online. The occasional Wii game sneaks through but usually no games to be found. PS2 Burnout, a definite pickup. Why did you leave BOTW WiiU behind? That’s an easy flip even if you didn’t want it. Overall good video and good pickups. Have an awesome weekend!!!
Eh a disc only copy of BoTW is only like $15... I could've made a few bucks on it but would rather leave it for someone else. Hope you have a great weekend too! Thanks for watching!
It's because the employees take them and Goodwill have a new Games electronic outlet which they ask close to ebay prices .. Unfortunatly resellers and collecters made this happen .
Thanks for watching! They're from Eye Buy Direct but I don't remember the model. They're extremely cheap but I've had them for five years and somehow haven't broken them
here in las vegas i live close to 5 good wills and i find around 1 game within 8 months. it’s so rare here. it’s the same in southern california. they must be listing them on their website asap once someone donates them.
Hey man I was wondering if your planning to go to Midwest gaming con next year I’m in Illinois and went last year seeing if other collectors are going!.
Nice pickups! I just bought C&C Red Alert 3 on the 360 on eBay for 7$ because I'm also curious how those RTS games plays with a controller. I think that it's cool that you leave stuff behind if you already have them or you're not interested. Great video and keep up the good work!
siiiiick yo la tengo shirt!!! also holy shit eternal sonata is crazy! just watched that new Tim Rogers vid on the Xbox 360 where he talks about this and a bunch of other 360 games, first time I heard about that game, looks sick. keep the good vids coming :)
@@collectorjohn9538 hell yeah, same here, YLT is like one o the best to do it, and incredible live! lotta good stuff in that Tim Rogers vid, bunch of 360 games I haven't heard of before. I'm sure you'll dig it
I would’ve picked up those Hollywood Video copies of GTA 3 and Midnight Club II because I grew up with that rental store chain and it’s something I feel a little sentimental about, I love the fact you appreciate old store stickers on games because I see the same value in that too That C&C3 copy has GameCrazy stickers on it lol
Thrifting is insanely popular in my small little town for some reason, so finding video games or anything of value at any thrift store around me is very rare. It sucks.
First prints of that Pearl Jam were all in that weird style of case. Picked up mine at Camelot Music in the mall for way way too much money when it came out.
In my experience goodwills with video games is entirely regionally based. I live in KC and they have no video games, when I go to St. Louis for work it’s games galore. Just found sly cooper 1 for $1.24
A channel named Austin Heroics also goes to the same goodwill to collect video games, it was interesting seeing 2 povs of the same goodwill on different days 😭
You can end the cycle of case swapping. There is a release of New Super Mario Brothers Wii that comes in a cardboard sleeve. It was a pack-in at some point in the console's lifecycle.
Its one of those things where I'll go to 10 op shops and find no video games then suddenly one place has a whole row of random games that just got donated. Last week I snatched up a copy of Zelda Wind Waker limited edition for Gamecube for $3 and thats a $150 game. Straight into the collection! It's just all luck and timing.
Yup 100%. That's a great find! I found a copy of Windwaker at my Goodwill a couple years ago but it looked like they pulled it off the bottom of the ocean with the grapple hook. Still bought it 🤷
The alternate rental cover versions of Xbox games are starting to be worth more than the originals as collectors see them as unique variants or a distinct set to collect for.
Great finds although I do wonder why you had ready 2 rumble 2 pulled off the shelf and in fhe floor and tjen said you want to the other side and found it on the shelf? I found that really odd, did you pull it off and out it back on fhe other side and pull it off again?
The worst part about Goodwill is the smell! It smells like a locker room. Unfortunately I think the first two burnouts are very lame. Nothing like three.
Mine all smell the same and they're definitely piping in some weird perfume I actually kinda like Burnout 1 so far... it's very simple compared to the later games but I'm kinda into that
Anyone can go to Goodwill and they often sell stuff that they get for free for too much money, so I wouldn't say it's for the less fortunate haha. Thanks for watching!
All corporations are bad, might as well not shop anywhere. At least this stuff is secondhand and there is little to no environmental impact in buying it.
@@collectorjohn9538 That’s just a cop out. There’s a big difference between shopping at Walmart vs. Target. They are not even in the same league. The worst of the worst (and Goodwill is part of that) should be avoided. And besides, there’s other places to get video games. Maybe not for 3 bucks like yours has games but there’s more to life than money. Again, see my comment about not shopping at Walmart.
Collector John vids are healing
❤️
Love the videos man, i swear after covid you will never find rare games ever again unless they put it in the glass case for market value
It's rough out there for sure

I enjoyed this video first time seeing you on here! Subscribed for sure 🔥
I dig the memes on the tv behind ya. Nice memes.
It's actually just NFL Blitz 2002 lol

Great vid mate! These days are long gone in Australia. But I keep going just incase haha.
You never know 😬

Thanks for watching friend 😁
Great pickups! I get the same mindset sometimes getting scared of starting a long game
Always a treat to find a new Collector John video.

Nice to see you are uploading more often now collector john
Doing my best 🙏 thanks for watching

I seem to get lucky with this more than most people, but I also just go to Goodwill a lot
I find a lot of games at Goodwill outlet, It's the place where you dig through junk and try to find some awesome things too.

Some great finds in there man!
For sure!
Hi John, love this video. Question: where did you get the glasses you’re wearing here? I broke my last pair and think this are really nice!

I love a collector John video! And your Yo La Tengo shirt 🙌🙌🙌

Tip: Sometimes if you show the person at the register how scratched a disc is, they may give you a discount.
Nice, I should try that sometime
I own burnout on 2 systems and would buy it 100 times over at $3.
I'm really enjoying Burnout 1. So simple and fun

Complaining about games being 5 bucks…. wow. You have been spoiled in whatever middle American place you live.
clicked off as soon as you pixelated the games @1:16. Hope you can take this as constructive.
