John just wanted to let you know I stayed all the way to the end and Yea that dude in the Star Wars game definitely looked like Ross from Friends lol 🤣🤣🤣
7:45 I don't believe a longbox of MGS exists, right? Longboxes were phased out by the time the game came out (only around 100 games during the first few years came out as longboxes in NTSC U regions). I think you must be thinking of the DVD case MGS Essentials Collection version, which obvious you already own
Interesting budget idea of $ 100 per month. It does seem like your per game price that you feel is acceptable has increased and you are spending more on fewer games but you are OK with it so that's great. Enjoy your videos very much. It feels like hearing a good friend discuss a shared hobby. Thank you.😊
Always thought it was a bummer the ps3 didn't come with an HDMI cable. Best I can tell the first console to come with an HDMI cable was the Wii U. That's crazy.
To answer your question about strategy guides; Yes, people do collect these. I casually collect these when I find them, and mostly just the ones for games I love. Recently I've gotten a deal on the BradyGames guides for Metal Gear Solid 2 : Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3 : Snake Eater, as well as the Piggyback guide for Metal Gear Solid 4 : Guns of the Patriots. Love how they look and found them really cheap (5 CAD$ for each). The guy even sold me first DMC's guide for 5$ too.
I do agree with you on how great the MGS games are. Currently playing the Master Collection on PS5, having a blast. I intend on picking up the Essentials Collection like the one you have. Maybe even the HD Collection. I do own the Twin Snakes remake as well, that's how I first experienced MGS 1.
I just about hyperventilated when u said u were in High School in 2008 lol. I was 33. I love the 360 games tho. The Sega Genesis used to be my favorite console with PS2 a close second but the 360 has definitely taken over the top spot. So many great physical and digital games on the Arcade that were released. I own 393 Xbox 360 games and by far it's the most games I own for a console with the PS2 in 2nd place with 207 games. I really enjoyed CoD2, it was one of the 1st games I had on the 360 and 1st I ever played online. Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut is prolly the way to go now if u can find it for cheap on the PS5. The game X111 has a remastered version on the PS4 and it's cheap. All excellent pickups. Thanks for an awesome video.
Heck yeah the longer vids are always super entertaining John. I always look forward to one of your vids! Keep creating, your passion really shines through and your vids are always awesome!! Much love from the UK :)
Awesome video! I get to live vicariously through you, since there's basically no game store where I live (KCMO) I would definitely watch the "what's in these Xbox 360 Hard Drives?" video btw
BTW, I would love to see you buy the HDD for the 360. Mystic, a TH-camr who talks about PS, did a video about playing and finishing save data files on the PS2 and PS3. I thinik you doing the same thing for the 360 would be great for the channel!
Always happy when you upload a video. My favorite channel on TH-cam. I think $100 a month on gaming is pretty good, especially for retro content! I love that you show how much fun you can have with games that aren't the most expensive ones people always talk about. Reminds me what I loved about retro gaming when I first started collecting.
Yes, keep these videos comming, I enjoy your opinion on each game that you find. I enjoy seeing what games you find. Sometimes the hunt is worth more than playing the game!! Also maybe you should have some "live gameplay" videos of some of your OG Xbox games.
Love the pick ups. When I had my PSP in like 2006 or whatever I had Twisted Metal Head On and it was a blast. I played the heck out of it and honestly just used it to show my sister car crashes on car rides lol. I also had Gripshift and if you ever see that for like $5 I think you’d really like it. Just a racing trials kinda radicalesque game.
That’s the beauty of the xbox 360 era, so many games nobody has heard of, so many hidden gems… nowadays it’s either AAA games or indie games. Kinda sad.
God, I wish I kept all the strategy guides I bought in childhood. Only one remaining is a Dragon Age Origins guide, for some reason - doesn’t give the same nostalgia as PS1 and Xbox game guides. May have to get into collecting them. Worse though is my missing video game cases. Most of my PlayStation 1 games are in cd books like the one you showed in this video. I curse my past self sometimes!
plugging in the 360 HDD's and seeing what's on them would be interesting to watch. (this is the first video i've watched of yours. i like your vibe man!)
Great video! I love the long form videos. I have the big box IBM copies of the Star Wars games you mentioned, since PC games and the X-Box are my goto collections.

Holy moly im number 109 in the queue!!!! lol When you do get to lil ol me I would love to know if you burned your own Dreamcast games. I had them as a kid and needed a boot up disc but I have no idea where I even got those from back then.
Cool pickups once again. Some stuff I'd never buy, others that (for me) are too beat up to grab even for cheap, BUT your commentary is ALWAYS fun and interesting to listen to.
yeah that's the plan. I actually might get it graded as a joke and make a video about it lol. I think having a sealed graded copy of Celebrity Deathmatch with a goodwill sticker on it would be hilarious
I'm trying to keep it in the same ballpark, but been spending a little bit more lately. It's hars ro keep it in check when you start collecting for multiple systems.
I have replaced a disc drive on a fat ps3 for a coworker. You have to buy the same model of drive and swap the chips since the disc controller is locked to the ps3.
It's been dry for me at value village or goodwills as well. And I'd keep the game sealed. I find sealed 360 games sometimes at value village and I always keep them sealed
There’s something so nostalgic as a mid 90’s kid seeing the Ps1,Ps2, Xbox and Xbox 360 games and cases, I used to have mirrors edge on physical copy not sure what happened to it, I bought it around the time it came out back ‘08 for like $40. I have it and mirrors edge catalyst on digital copy. Both mirrors edge games play at 60 fps on Xbox Series X/S!
Awesome pickups, I wish I had as many stores locally to shop. We have 2 and both sell their better/higher value items on eBay, so the store is a lot of commons and leftovers. I’m restricted to FB marketplace and yard sales for deals, do you ever do those?
I do FB marketplace occasionally but I don't find it very enjoyable haha. I do have a pretty crazy FB marketplace haul that I intend to make a video on soon
Hey great video Collector John! Have you seen Mystic’s channel? A lot of us appreciate how he opens the game case and spins the disc around so it’s facing up (the correct way). If you started doing this it would help with some of your viewers ocd issues. Thanks!
Call of Duty 2 was the first game I played when the 360 released. Remember hooking it up through a vga cable, which seemed to really boost the resolution. Damnation is interesting. The controls are horrible but once you find your way around them it's fun. Also, if I remember right, they kind of tell you how to beat bosses in the cut scenes which come before.
I have one of those VGA cables and I used to have my 360 permanently hooked up to a Dell CRT monitor. It looks reaaally good, arguably better than HD on a regular flat screen
Love the collection. I collect myself, but I don't keep the cases unless it's a collector's edition for space reasons. I'm not a big complete-in-box person and I want to save space while collecting physical media.
If you enjoy collecting for the ps1 and are looking to get more into some mega man games, do yourself a favor and pick up mega man x4. Thank me later 😉 Also, still super jealous of that green crt 🤩
4:16 I'm literally playing Dark Forces on PC as I watch this video, I'm at the level where you rescue Jan from Jabba. Looks so good at 320x200 on a CRT monitor 🤤
@@collectorjohn9538 I'm actually playing a fan remake called "The Force Engine". Requires you to own the original game on steam but is a super easy like 2 second setup just download and run it. It's much more faithful to the original, I highly recommend it over the remake if playing on a CRT. For playing on a CRT it's TheForceEngine>Original>Remake. The art/text has been altered in the remake for modern displays.
I literally stopped what I was doing to watch this and it totally delivered. That Guitar Hero box is BEAUTIFUL and a great addition to your collection. Appreciate you as always
I have Blinx 2 sealed “inadvertently” - i just bought a disc only copy cheap…i figured it’s been sealed this long who am i to open it? Shadow Man 2 is one of the most disappointing sequels Ive ever played.😢
SM2: Acclaim created a minor controversy when plans of advertising the title on small billboards attached to real tombstones were announced, saying they would pay relatives of the deceased for the advertising, adding that "poorer" families might be especially interested.
The most exciting thing of my day was seeing that blue dot in collector john icon. Love your videos, please never never ever stop making them. Even if is monthly, never stop!
@@collectorjohn9538 Good to know I'll have to check it out soon! Vanguard has always been great it is really cluttered but Steve gives great prices and has a decent selection. Also if you ever are looking to do a optical drive bypass for the Dreamcast im doing one for a friend soon and if all goes well I could install one for you too. I also mod 360's and PSP's and I've done a n64 HDMI mod too.
@@collectorjohn9538 I'll have to check it out! Also love you shouting out Steve at vanguard he is the best around price wise. Also if you ever want a Dreamcast optical drive bypass installed I can do that and I love modding 360's and PSP's. I don't charge anything but materials.
I also really enjoy picking up strategy guides, especially for any sort of RPG. I got a few pretty normal ones in a recent haul including Oblivion, Mass Effect, and InFamous, but my best find was a hardcover collector's edition Fable III guide. the art in that one is amazing and it's like 400 pages. they only wanted $10 for it. edit: I forgot to mention I would definitely enjoy the video exploring the random hard drives. keep up the good work!
So glad you uploaded again! I love your videos 🙂 slightly judging the potato salad habits though… anyway! Mirrors Edge is a great game! Keep uploading my dude :)
Great pickups as always. Fun fact that neither you nor anyone else would ever give the slightest fuck about but I had actually stopped gaming after high school. But then a guy at work was telling me about Resident Evil so I went and bought a PS1. The first games I got were RE and Rebel Assault 2. Coming off of a SNES, that shit was mind blowing.
Rebel Assault 2 was the first PC game I ever played so it wasn't the greatest first impression of PC gaming. Thankfully, the second game I played was Wing Commander 3.
There's something about your content that resonates with me in best possible way, so simple, chill and packed with nostalgia. keep up with great work, I'm looking forward to your next upload. Cheers from Croatia! 🍻
God, I wish I kept all the strategy guides I bought in childhood. Only one remaining is a Dragon Age Origins guide, for some reason - doesn’t give the same nostalgia as PS1 and Xbox game guides. I curse my past self sometimes!
You the man John!!! I really enjoy all your content. You care about the things you share with us and that true love is very evident. I have slowed down with purchases because I have been feeling very overwhelmed by the backlog. Did trade a few games and get Darksiders Genesis recently. Really thinking about refining the collection. I highly recommend Retro Bird’s videos about this topic to all collectors.
I wish I could like this 3,000 times to make up for everyone else that isn't liking your videos. I'm always do hyped when you come out with a new video
currently saving for a house and have rarely taken some spare change for my game collecting or hobbies in general, and watching your videos is a great coping mechanism XD love the videos
Something about this channel is so f*cking nostalgic to me man. Please never stop. It reminds about my childhood. Thank you collector john

When will you do a new house tour?
Probably soon, just trying to finish up some stuff in the office/game room
I played damnation... Ist not that good. But i got this stupid rule for myself if i start a game i have to complete it😅
"Oh yeah, baby... i think i had too much potato salad for dinner" 😂 what a way to get started
gonna eat too much potato salad again tonight 👍 it's Friday baby
Yoooooo a collector John video everyone stop what you’re doing and tune the friggg in!! Let’s frigggennn goooo babyy
thanks for tuning in boss
I would definitely keep that OG Xbox sealed. I find it pretty cool even if it isn't worth too much.
It’s always the best day ever when Collector John uploads. ☺️
Thanks friend ❤️
Interesting budget idea of $ 100 per month. It does seem like your per game price that you feel is acceptable has increased and you are spending more on fewer games but you are OK with it so that's great. Enjoy your videos very much. It feels like hearing a good friend discuss a shared hobby. Thank you.😊
I'm glad you feel that way about the vids, that's exactly what I'm going for!
Always thought it was a bummer the ps3 didn't come with an HDMI cable. Best I can tell the first console to come with an HDMI cable was the Wii U. That's crazy.
that is super weird to think about!
sacrilege storing dreamcast games in a playstation case :)

Don’t get the PS5 upgrade unless you’re ready to dedicate 60+ hrs , it’s beautiful but very long game to spend money on
The PS3 did come with the composite cables. One I did anyway. Only console that came with component cables was 360 before they switched to hdmi.

Keep it sealed. Keep that iconic cover fresh.
As a Christian, that Christian joke was hilarious. Respect 😂
Love the collection. I collect myself, but I don't keep the cases unless it's a collector's edition for space reasons. I'm not a big complete-in-box person and I want to save space while collecting physical media.
Respect! I wish I was less obsessed over having the cases but I do have some disc only stuff
I love Riddick. He should do another one
5 dollar tier, we have a high roller here folks! XD
If you enjoy collecting for the ps1 and are looking to get more into some mega man games, do yourself a favor and pick up mega man x4. Thank me later 😉
Also, still super jealous of that green crt 🤩
oo yeah baby thanks for the rec
A new Collector John video, LET'S GOOOO.
Original playstation 3 pal box is a cool box
Vanguard Video aka The Hoarder Store. He's gonna get caved in one day... LOL
lmao I had the same feeling while I was in there. It's hard to believe that they passed a fire inspection
4:16 I'm literally playing Dark Forces on PC as I watch this video, I'm at the level where you rescue Jan from Jabba. Looks so good at 320x200 on a CRT monitor 🤤
Heck yeah. Are you playing the original or the remaster? I want to get the remaster up and running on my CRT monitor so I'm hoping it has 4:3 support
Appreciate you as always
glad it delivered for you dude. So psyched on the GH box
Btw would love a vid on you refurbishing the fat ps3!
coming!!
I have Blinx 2 sealed “inadvertently” - i just bought a disc only copy cheap…i figured it’s been sealed this long who am i to open it?
Shadow Man 2 is one of the most disappointing sequels Ive ever played.😢
Haha I think Shadowman 2 is okay but the first game is definitely better
SM2:
Acclaim created a minor controversy when plans of advertising the title on small billboards attached to real tombstones were announced, saying they would pay relatives of the deceased for the advertising, adding that "poorer" families might be especially interested.
Please keep it sealed!!!!🙏🙏🙏
Dude hot thumbnail
Great chill video ❤
22:50 GameTogetherMKE
Thanks, you reminded me to add timestamps for the whole vid
The dark forces remaster is amazing btw. Definitely worth it
yeah I really need to check it out
always love a good haul!

The most exciting thing of my day was seeing that blue dot in collector john icon. Love your videos, please never never ever stop making them. Even if is monthly, never stop!
Would you say game together MKE is better than Make Cents? I haven't been to game together MKE but I mostly go to Make Cents when I go game hunting.
I like Game Together more but that's just me. Better prices and selection imo
Great video dude 😊
Thanks duder!!
Coming off of a SNES, that shit was mind blowing.
great viddy John, we love the long ones
Thanks me too!
How often do you go to goodwill to look for games ?
Multiple times a week but it's usually a waste of time lol. I find other stuff though
May have to get into collecting them. Worse though is my missing video game cases. Most of my PlayStation 1 games are in cd books like the one you showed in this video. I curse my past self sometimes!
Never too much potato salad😂
Thinkin about having some for breakfast
You the man John!!! I really enjoy all your content. You care about the things you share with us and that true love is very evident. I have slowed down with purchases because I have been feeling very overwhelmed by the backlog. Did trade a few games and get Darksiders Genesis recently. Really thinking about refining the collection. I highly recommend Retro Bird’s videos about this topic to all collectors.
Man just in time for me to watch on my lunch. 😁 also you ever wanna play some full auto online I’m totally down… if it’s still up 🤔
Thanks for the video!
you're welcome buddy
I wish I could like this 3,000 times to make up for everyone else that isn't liking your videos. I'm always do hyped when you come out with a new video
You should make a video playing some of your games
I plan to do that very soon!
@@collectorjohn9538 cant wait
You should do a video on your zenith prison TV. That thing is rad. Love your content my guy!
Hell yeah Collector John, great pickups. See you next time.
i watch untill ghe end lol
THANKS
currently saving for a house and have rarely taken some spare change for my game collecting or hobbies in general, and watching your videos is a great coping mechanism XD love the videos
Please never change!
