Thanks for the tips! I just installed a new whirlpool dishwasher for my parents (I'm not an installer) and I had a hard time with it for many reasons including a very tight built in opening. The washer is dripping slightly at one corner of the door and I'm 100% sure it's because I didn't level it trusting the floor was "good enough". Thanks for explaining WHY it's important to level it against itself and how to properly check the levels on the unit.

Plumb: that's your new word for the day.

This is a good video on how important it is to have the DW level and plumb, but it is mis-titled. I was looking for a check list on why my DW flooded the floor. I don’t want to start just replacing parts if it could be some other reason.

I don't understand anything about tools, I never used my "handy-dandy," and I tried it in my dishwasher machine, but sometimes the level was centered, but if I moved it a little to the left or to the right it would no longer be centered, that is, to be centered we have to find the perpendicular, I only saw you placing the tool on the surfaces, how do you know if it is perpendicular?

Agree with leveling focus comments. So much repetition on the importance of leveling, but no other issues related to leaking are covered at all. Yes. Insuring dishwasher is level, in all 3 directions, is important. But, what else could be causing leak?

Mine was leaking in the r/h corner, I changed the seal at the bottom of the door and now it’s leaking in the l/h corner but not every time I run it, this is a bad design, older dishwashers had a seal that went all the way around the box and sealed the door every where, this stupid thing has the case seal on the top and sides but the bottom only has this stupid wiper thing that fits loose and can move side to side

so does it have to be level side to side lol way to drive the message home and make sure that dishwasher is level level level. If you level it has to be level because if it's not level you're not level minutes gonna leak so make sure your level does elite level level level

He really has no idea what he is talking about. It almost sounds like he is just happy to have passed the cbt exam after the 10th try 😂.
That minor little bit of being unlevel isn't going to cause issues. I have seen units that were visibly tilted and 20 years old running fine.
Leaks are normally broken drain lines, busted door seal, rodent chewed through something, or the drain hose isn't tight enough just to name a few
