Thank for the video! Turns out the issue on my GE was that the float stem housing became loose and the o-ring wasn’t in contact. Water was just pouring out of the float switch area. I tightened it up and we are good as new! I saved your video in case another problem occurs.

For safety sake, I'd unplug it before sticking my arm underneath (I noticed there's a receptacle for it under the sink), otherwise I'd turn off the breaker if it's hardwired... and if it's wet under there, the arm turns into a perfect bridge and a jolt may turn into a cut from yanking it out around sharp edges. A dishwasher leak pan is a good investment to protect the flooring and notice a leak a bit quicker before a non-protected cubbyhole flood.

Thanks for an explanation that this almost 60 year old lady can understand. I finally looked under my dishwasher. I just got done fixing my microwave. Yeah me. My GE dishwasher is leaking from the pump area. It is very tight underneath and have decided to get my appliance guy. I feel proud to be able to explain what I think the problem is. There is a stalagmite coming from the pump area. Thanks again for your explanation.

This is a great video!!! Thank you for posting it. My mom is blind, my s-dad just passed away after being bed bound for 2-3 years and I’m trying to get her house in shape for her. I noticed there is a drain like thing on the top of her counter. It’s for the dishwasher, but I’m not sure what it’s called to find a video on it leaking. Even after running the garbage disposal before running the dishwasher the thing on the counter has a leak. Any helpful hints would be appreciated (even the name of the part).

Thank you..Very helpful and your calm voice was a needed boost..My problem revealed itself over a few weeks of me scratching my head wondering why i had a pool of water in my basement..The water found in the basement just happened to gather near my clothes washer.. drain sink and furnace leaving me bewildered on what the heck was leaking..Turns out my dish washer just so happens to be upstairs in my kitchen above all these things in the basement and the leak didn't reveal itself until this morning as my kitchen floor was wet..Finally relief knowing where this water was coming from but it brought on a new adventure yet to tackle..This video though helps me to understand what to look for under the dish washer so it remains to be seen how to fix it but this video for sure gives me a start thanks..

Samsung Dishwasher is leaking from the front (not the bottom as far as I can tell) I can tell the lower door seal is disintegrated so that makes sense that water is leaking out of the front.
I followed other videos showing to turn it on the side and dry everything and the pan so the leak sensor will stop activating the drain.
I checked the drain hose and the water inlet-dry as a bone.
I haven’t run the dishwasher but when I opened the dishwasher there was water standing inside the bottom of the dishwasher. I think water is leaking INTO the INSIDE of dishwasher and gets high enough to run out the front (because of the bad seal which is a discontinued part) and I never would have know it was even happening if the lower door seal hadn’t finally given out.
What part do I need to check or replace for water leaking INTO the dishwasher even when I’m not running a cycle? The water supply is not leaking inside my cabinet either. There’s no water except inside the dishwasher and then when it runs out the front (when it gathers enough to leak out the bad seal.) No water originating under the machine except the water that runs under when it leaks out the front. Any help would be appreciated.

What size clamp did you use?

Thanks for watching, the clamp itself is the original. If you’re looking to replace the original clamp with a new clamp, you can purchase a clamp set and match the size that fits best with you machine.

My dishwasher leaks when I run it but its leaking under the sink. Its where the hose fits into a straight pipe and its like the pipe is over filling

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thanks for watching, this can happen when the pipe itself is clogged causing backup/blockage of water flow.
You can disconnect the dishwasher drain hose and verify pipe and additional plumbing is clear of any blockage.

I have a literal short video of my leak under my GE nautilus. Can I send that to you to get an idea of what part is leaking? It's an old machine but this only just started happening and I noticed the water backs up in the sink. I have tried everything to deal with my slow drain but nothing seems to work.

Thanks for watching, this is the best way to stay in contact with us. Let’s get this figured out.
Are you experiencing any other issues with your sink plumbing that may be causing the back up?
Is the leak underneath dishwasher close to a rubber hose fitting or does it look like it’s more of a crack in the respective part? Keep us posted.

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders Hello and thanks for the response. The sink has a slow drain and has been like that no matter what I do to try and clear it. Like you know, those chemical cleaners or I even tried using vinegar and baking soda. But the machine never leaked regardless even though the water backs up into the sink when it drains. I looked under and it's dripping from what I think is the drained shaft seal. I've ordered the part and I think I can fix it from watching videos :) Oh and I should add that it only leaks when draining.

If the leak ends up under the cupboard and down a ways, would that be the drainage pipe. Its about 30 minutes into the cycle

    • @DIYwithMichaelBorders
      @DIYwithMichaelBorders  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thanks for watching, that’s very likely. We recommend checking to see if the drain hose is wet at any point alone hose.
If so, it may be a leaking drain hose. Please keep us posted.

Have same issue but everything is dry under the machine .. leaks just at the front of the door halfway in the cycles and just started after 4.5 years of perfect cleaning cycles.
Guess it means gaskets bottom of door plastic piece and the rubber gaskets around the edge I guess? But nothing is wet except the massive leaks halfway in the cycle. Trying to see what is causing. Took off the panel and just wetness dripping from insulation from bottom of the door left and right .. mostly right side.
      Any ideas? Thank you @@DIYwithMichaelBorders

My dishwasher is over 20 years old (Kitchen Aid KUDI01DLBS0), and it started leaking from the bottom (on the right side of the door). I opened the bottom cover/panel and ran the Normal Cycle while watching it with a flashlight where the leak came from. It took about 15 min, until you could no longer add any more dishes and the cycle started. That is the time that i see it starts leaking, not from the bottom of the inlet valve but somewhere from above the valve visible part. What can this be? If there is an issue with the inlet valve it should start leaking as soon as you start the cycle? No?
    Thank you in advance.

Thanks for watching, any update? Have you inspected the water line that feeds water to the inlet valve and into the system? This line will tie into your warm water plumbing underneath your sink.
It’s possible that water is leaking from that inlet hose or line as it feeds from above.
We also recommend inspecting your door seal, as it’s possible that your door seal is damaged further upstream and allowing water to flow down onto inlet valve. Keep us posted.

Thank you for quick reply. Yes I did check all water and drain hoses before my initial post, was laying down for over 40 min on the floor with flashlight checking for any leaks during the cycle from the very beginning. I also replaced the door seal a year ago or so, its not cause for this current leak. I unscrewed and pulled down inlet water valve while its still connected, so I can observe for any leaks from the top portion where it connected to black hose. Nothing. More over, yesterday I cant ever replicate the leak even after 30 min from the beginning of the cycle.
One thing I noticed though, when I open the door during the cycle, the water still run (isn't it supposed to stop when door is open while machine is running?) from the water filling hole in the lower left side of the dishwasher.
So far my update is that I wash dishes with my hands, lol, to make missus happy
If i don't find the culprit i next few days I am buying a new unit, I cant complain about the current one, its from 2002! Had a long life and work hard.

We appreciate the follow up, yes…the machine is supposed to shut down anytime the door is opened.
A faulty door latch sensor can lead to this. Being from 2002, that’s a great run. 😁👍
Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Good morning, have you pinpointed the exact leak point? You may just need to slightly adjust the hose and clamp to create a water-tight seal.
