Welcome to FTB Game Balls!
In this new, instant-reaction, post-game video series, staffers at For The Blogy highlight the standout players performances for the Nittany Lions immediately after each contest. Back from the bye week, give out game balls to Penn State's ability to finally spread the wealth in the passing game and then hop in the DeLorean to acknowledge the Week 1 effort of the 1926 Penn State football team -- a squad whose single-game total offense record fell Saturday in the Nittany Lions' 56-0 skunking of Kent State.

The defense really clamped down yesterday and that was desperately needed after the scare Bowling Green gave us. Beating the school record on offense was awesome to see!!
This guy's videos & narration are my favorite on this channel. We need more of his prose. If he produces content elsewhere on the interwebs please let us know.
you made our day, Bob. thanks for the kind words
Good confidence building game. Now to put together a convincing win and build some momentum in BigTen play 🏈
Yeah we won against the absolute worst team in fbs. Some glaring issues even against this team...
Offense
Line
-50lbs heavier yet missing blitz/whiffing on simple stunts
-why so much pressure on Allar 1st half?
-pocket collapse very fast
-bodies in backfield when we have numbers
-inside runs not hitting
-second team penalties
Def
-LBs hitting wrong gap assignments
-LBs biting too hard on counters/traps
-Tackling (whiffs in backfield)
-physically bullied by small running back
-offsides penalties
-lack of pressure
-outside contain by LBs
Game management
-clock (2min time out miscue/play call miss)
-penalties
-Running Allar on a goalline play when up 21...against Kent St.
-let beau throw too many designed runs. Let him throw to build experience. Stretch the field.
-get starters out at end of 3rd (why is Omari playing in 4th qtr)
-sp teams decision making
Wow bro, they really need you on staff!
