In the quest where u destroy the Avallac'h's lab, Yenn stays in character as 'mother' but does actually offschreen paints a mustache on the painting of Avallac'h, you can see this when the camera focusses on her at the end of the cutscene.
Geralt beating the crap out of Whoreson after seeing what he did to those women will forever be one of my favorite character moments. You don't have control over his choices in that moment, but agree with him 100%.
@@piscessoedroenmoonlight armor looks decent. Undvik's armor looks similiar to Bear school armor. Temerian armor looked decent aswell. Also the nilfgaardian armor that a trader can sell you didnt look bad. Not the heavy armor
I play the game in Polish and it's kinda weird hearing Geralt swear so much in the English version lol, I'm pretty sure in Polish he just said "run you stupid little animal"
I was expecting just a "Geralt would make the morally right choices" kind of video. But you surprised me once again by actually picking the lore accurate choices. Excellent work
In the Witcher there rarely is such a thing as morally right or wrong. After you have made a decision you know deep within your heart that you have made both the right and the wrong decision at the same time.
@@Nubbletech Yeah a lot of what the witcher is known for is Geralt being dragged into fights between a lesser, greater, or middling evil. In the end you find out that choosing any evil is bad even if it is "lesser."
@@WealthyJester98 Ok, I guess there are a few, but what I was trying to say is that a playthrough where you only pick the morally right options would be completely impossible as there usually isn't a clear choice.
I completely understand why you wouldn't want to complete this series, but I have to say, personally, these videos are some of my absolute favorite Witcher videos. But as you said, this is a major beast to attempt to create. Whatever your decision, I believe the people who follow you will understand. And as one final thing to say, holy hell is this video a masterpiece. The way you explain in detail why you made the choices you did, why Geralt would make said choices. Absolute masterpiece.
I with you on this. If Neon Knight isn't getting anything for his work, he shouldn't be forced to continue something that clearly takes months to make. However, these video are some of the best content about the witcher, especially if you learned about witcher through the games rather than the books.
@@thinkingsoutherner9911Absolutely, like if not for him speaking up, Birna would have gotten away with her murder scheme. The entire An Craite clan would have suffered greatly too, Svanrige deserved way better for his bravery.
@@TZhekaT well it's been a year since I saw the video so don't recall which ones😅 But like I wrote, it's a matter of personal interpretation, and the video in large is an amazing work
@@yuval_6999 agreed, video has little bit of bias, but holds mostly true. The main issues is the bad design of the base game - I noticed it right away on my 1st playthrough. The sense of urgency really mucks things up in an epic story. I know they tried to do like W1 and their plot but in that one it made senses as the villain required time to slowly advances its villain agenda. So you still had a sense of urgency but not overly pressured to finish ASAP. Speaking of W1, I still hold it as the better game especially how it handles the White Frost (making it a natural occurrence at the end of time space and not an actual antagonistic force) Also why Hearts of Stone and Blood and WIne play more like W1 - play out better Because of this sense of urgency a lot of Book Geralt choices get curb stomped by the senes of urgency of saving Ciri.
"I didn't tell you everything because I wanted something extra that I didn't want you to know about" Should be plastered on Geralts grave stone the amount of times it's happened to him
all the people i can name off the top of my head that have concealed information from Geralt for selfish reasons Triss - her entire romantic relationship with Geralt Gaunter - he's a god, and he needs geralt Yen. for like everything Emhyr? (the only thing Emhyr wanted from Geralt was Ciri, and Emhyr was honest with that) Bloody Baron's questline Keira's quests The Crones Radovid Dikjstra is surprisingly honest with Geralt Phillipa is a scheming bitch but is also pretty honest - her schemes involve ciri and a position within Nilfguard's court, not getting something from Geralt (although she does ask Geralt to take Yen out of the picture) Avalach? Ciri (concealed from Geralt but for selfless reasons)
While the choice isn’t mentioned within the video since Geralt and Ciri don’t go down the path leading to it, when visiting Emhyr, while Geralt wouldn’t take the money, Ciri would just be like, “give me that!” in accordance with her book character.
When I first played the game, I took the money, thinking I could give it to Ciri afterwards, showing her that it has no meaning for me but I thought I might as well scalp it from Enhyr. Then I saw her reaction and knew, uh oh, not where the scene is going, and had to reload haha
@@JJ-52 fair point. Well, one of the conditions for the good ending is to read the diary of Sianna entirely as soon as you pick it. But I decided to play authentic and jumped right to the only obviously relevant line. Later, still in the magic world, I read the remaining entries. But when the dialogue with Sianna came I had only the options to lead to the bad endings. I was quite frustrated, given I did absolutely everything else correctly, and knowing everything Geralt would know to have the right options.
I ended up liking the baron, infact he's one of my favourite characters, a very complex person who's seen a lot of bad. I understand C-PTSD, and i saw many similarities between the way he acts to myself. Unfortunately, being around a certain lifestyle can bring out the worse in humanity, and as much as the bloody barron was an A hole. He has a good heart deep down. He genuinely cares about his wife and daughter and all his men. He even helped Ciri, even though she was a complete stranger and gave her a horse. In my first playthrough, he deleted himself, and i felt terrible.
yeah, while he still beat his wife there were also other things at play other than "the baron is a bad man", and i'm not trying to justify the abuse but he was away from home as a soldier for 3 years only to find out his wife had been cheating on him, not a very nice thing to come home to, i'm also a firm believer in redemption and the baron going out of his way to bring anna to someone who can help is a very redeeming action on his part and you can even see this with how his daughter treats his oath at the end of their questline, she makes him swear that he'll hold to his word
@bargainbrandmilk9858 very profound, and i agree, I also felt Geralt was very condescending towards the barron. He has a good heart, and he also accepts accountability for his actions. If you've never done a heavy job and seen a lot of sh!t, then people don't understand how it can affect and change you. I'm also not trying to defend his actions, but I can understand and empathise with him. After all, giving someone a slap isn't as bad as unaliving people!
The efforts and quality of this video is amazing. This not only a 2 and a half hour movie of Witcher 3 with lore friendly choices but also can be a great long and detailed summary video if you need it in the future. Props to you for breaking the sweat and covering the entire main game in a video!
kind of interesting that when i played the witcher 3, I had 0 prior witcher knowledge and chose almost all of the same options you mentioned in your video. to me, this is impressive as hell solely for CDPR for - at least to me - having game Geralt be so close personality wise to book Geralt that I was able to pick up on and make choices based on what I believed his choices would be is pretty damn cool.
SAME! I just commented this. I chalk it up to the main story feeling so urgent, that even though there's no time requirement, it felt like there was, and if you really roleplay as Geralt, you want to get to Ciri. Like you said, CDPR knocked it out of the park
Just finished my first playthough recently, and I chose to let Ciri meet Emyhr because I saw a clip of her reaction when you turn down the gold and I wanted that scene. If i had've known about the book stuff I definitely wouldnt have though, I also never will on future playthroughs based on the book knowledge and how it ends if you go there. I would have figured that wouldn't be the ending you get given how she storms off in that scene but oh well, live and learn
This is one of the best vids I have ever watched on you-tube man. For us fans that got a bit sidetracked playing the game (to say the least, lol) it was so wonderful to get a comprehensive A to Z telling of the story. It really made me want to play the game again. Your explaining how the different characters related to each other was beyond helpful. Thank you so much. Love from Norway.
I remember the devs saying that they made every decision be between options Geralt would take but then you look at some of the quests like assassinating Radovid. Lets say hypothetically he would be willing to help. The plan goes through and then he is given the choice to betray 3 loyal friends. There is no way of explaining that choice in any way that Geralt would just be okay with friends dying.
Yeah that’s just stupid. Witcher 3 was my first time anything Witcher and when that came up I was like why is he asking me to betray 3 of my friends so HE can become king
That's a super weird quest all around. Like Djkstra surely would never think he can beat Geralt in a fight right? I only read one of the books but he's supposed to be one of the smartest characters
@@pilot3605 I mean he doesnt really think the geralt is on his level even in the books he kinda looks down on geralt which is how he ended up with the limp, he underestimated him when geralt was captured at the conclave coup.
Yes it's finally here! Can't wait to see the second half this evening. P.S. I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the long form video format but appreciate how much time and effort it takes, so give yourself a few weeks rest. You've earned it :)
Masterworks like this are hard to find. Brought back some of my favourite parts about the books and game, made me question some parts of the game I wouldn't have before and convincingly supported the reasoning for each of the choices shown. Careful balancing of information against exposition and spoilers. All wound together with a combination of inside jokes, dry one liners and a few classics. Exquisite
This is so cool! I’m on my fifth playthrough and my goal for this one was to be as close as possible to a roleplay like « what would Geralt do ». My line of conduct was directed by what I understood of him (while not knowing every detail like you!). I went as far as trying not to fast travel and ask myself what road to take, what busy area to avoid, when to stop in a village for coins or shelter, etc. It allowed my to also assess if a side quest or contract was « worth it » timewise. I found it soooooo difficult to brace against wanting to complete everything! I love your video because it shows how time is of the essence in the main quest.
@@michaelderflinger5002 I don't remembrer exactly, but I would say around 25 maybe. You barely scape through, always in the orange. It's the hidden difficulty setting hahaha!
This might be the best video on your channel so far, which means a lot considering the pure quality of your work. Thank you for all the work necessary to pull of a video like this! :)
You have made a great piece of art. I was listening to this like an audio book while I was working out. I really appreciate you sharing your perspective as I haven’t read the books and don’t have as much context as I’d like, it makes me really appreciate Geralt’s character. I get it that you don’t want to make another one of these, don’t feel obliged to unless it’s good for you, you’ve already done something great.
I love to see someone with this much love for the Witcher universe, i can only imagine how much time and effort this video took and it's really well done bro, I've been wondering about what garalt would do and finally we have a super detailed video on it. Thanks brother❤ Ps. I love your content, keep it up
The dedication and hard work committed into this video is insane. I don't think I've ever sat through a video this long and still not got bored. Big respect to you!
A very well made video Neon Knight! I watched the whole thing, and this must be one of the longest videos that I´ve watched on TH-cam my whole life! I enjoyed every second of it!! Well done, and thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
I really wanted to write a comment to say how glad I'm that this video's out but I am terrible at this. So just thank you Neon Knight. I hope you know that your work brings a lot of joy to people.
Loved the video. I think your reasoning about Geralt's sense of urgency and how it would've driven many of the choices makes a ton of sense. It's too bad the game's design doesn't somehow encourage/reward this line of reasoning more than it does. Also, enjoyed the Megadeth reference!
Yes, in my completionist ways, I had completely forgotten about the urgency of Geralts quest, which really would be a significant motivation in his actions
Video Very Good!!! Seriously though, I love the interaction of someone informed about the books with the game. The books are so amazing and they don’t get enough youtube press, of great quality, since the games are so much more popular and visually stimulating.
Canon Geralt was under the control of Yennefer. He was obsessed with their full-on argument and toxic relationship. Healthy people would never consider the Geralt-Yen relationship to be love. But if book Geralt understood how toxic their relationship is, he would break the spell and choose a woman who had fallen in love with him for 20+ years. Also, after he chose Triss, he clearly says that his relationship with Yen was toxic and that HE ALWAYS LOVED TRISS, NOT YEN. "wanted to be with you, before, during, after, and always." So, yes, players can choose whatever they want. But there is no such thing canon Geralt would choose Yennefer.
Yen is no where near a healthy choice. I chose yen on my playthrough but regretted it after getting to know tries and see how she cares for others and always gets her hands dirty whereas yen is all about herself and getting others to do her dirty work and won't even climb cause she avoids getting dirty or using effort.
@@mehmetbayrak6126multiple times people bring up the whole toxicity between the relationship and geralt comments that he likes yen because he reminds him of the fact that he’s always on the path and is never settled down. And yes it is toxic absolutely, but Geralt chooses Yen
Oh please do continue if you ever find the time to. I so want to know how Geralt would actually act when faced with someone as seemingly omnipotent as Gaunter o'Dimm. In any case, wonderful video!
Just finished my first play through last night! I’ve had this video saved in my watch later for months. Worth the wait. Gonna binge the rest of your videos mate ❤️
So glad you read the books and even playing the games themselves you get that there's a long history between Yennifer and Geralt from their youth. That Triss was well aware of their history and took advantage of Geralt while he had amnesia for a year. You made choices based on Geralts personality which was good. Except I would have gone along with the Assasination of Radovid because of his murderous insanity.
if you think about it with how the quest is presented in the game it would make zero sense for geralt to stop and assist in an assassination regardless of who it was because of the high risks it posed while he still had to rescue ciri and all of that, even if ciri was safe at that point there wasn't any more reason to assassinate him, the church of the eternal fire would still go on their non-human genocide with or without radovid and again the assassination attempt would pose to many dangerous risks
I can imagine the amount of game play you do to get all this information. Thank you from everyone for putting your time and effort into this, it’s my favorite video so far! This is the best Witcher channel I watch!
Very enjoyable video and good character analysis, just like your video 'Witcher 2 - Every Choice GERALT Would Make' ! I loved that you also included stuff from the books to prove some of your points and how much effort you put into the video in generall ! I hope this money will help you make good future content on your channel
Man this game is soooo well written.... the way it side quests off to fill out the story is amazing amd giving back story to soo many other Characters. There isn't another game like it
Incredible video. Especially because I just finished my 14th playthrough and there's decisions I never thought could ever have a massive impact on a lot of characters
I can’t really tell if this is a joke or not since the Witcher 3 is that good of a game that 14 playthroughs is actually kinda believable nearly a decade after its release
@@jenjoe4359I've done the same including DLC each time (trying to work new mods into playthrough 15). I'm physically disabled so my free time is pretty extensive 😅
Thanks so much for this video! There really are two perspectives you could have gone with: what would Geralt do in the moment or what would Geralt do in this situation. Doing the in the moment one was totally legit, however that also made us miss out on the some super cool side quests. Would love to see that coverage as well! Great job!
Stellar job as always! Thoroughly enjoyed the full 2 and a half hours and I fully agree with your analysis of every choice. Would love to see you do this for side quests and the dlc of course, but I am also very interested in a video about Kingdom Come! That's a great game that I'd love to hear you voice your opinions on :)
Unbelievable job mate! So entertaining and everything made perfect sense. No idea how you managed to get an almost 3 hour video to flow so easy too. The hard work you put into this definitely shows.
Love the switch to Fergus when mentioning the lack of competence😂 I never thought about Triss being in full control with the Menge scene, such a good angle. The scene with Junior is one of the most intense ones in the game for me, the exhaustion and shock and anger Geralt feels in that moment are so well portrayed. 100% agree that there is no way Geralt would let him stay alive not only for Ciri but also for the threat he poses to any woman. Completely agree that the third act is so rushed. It has some amazing scenes but I remember questioning on the first playthrough if I really did all the quests. Thescene with Sile was surprisinglyvery emotional. But I liked it. Also would agree that Geralt would go with Xiri to the lodge. Though the scene in which Geralt and Yen are spying is quite cute, I definetly think it's more natural that he offers to go with her especially with Philippa being involved. All in all great summary of Geralt's choices, really enjoyed watching it and would definetly love to see more videos like this but also get that's it requires an insane amout of work
Geralt always gives me protective Papa Bear vibes, but he never felt overprotective to me so it makes sense in my opinion that he offers Ciri to accompany her but also would be fine with her going alone. Which in general is why to me it feels like he would always want to make sure that Ciri knows as much about a situation as possible (Emhyr's true agenda, what Phillipa is actually like...) before she makes **her** own choice. He knows that Ciri went through more than what most people will experience over their lifetime so controlling her choices just becomes absurd as she clearly isn't a helpless idiot.
I could barely finish the mission with Triss being tortured... I couldn't bare to hear the screams. And seeing the blood on her hands after made me glad i sliced Menge to bits.
i’ve only watched the witcher show and had vague interest in the games, but got this recommended to me. and wow, you didnt lose my attention for a single minute! this was so well written, i love that you included enough background information that i understood everything clearly despite my lack of prior knowledge but you also kept the storytelling of your video moving forward. i loved hearing about all the reasoning behind each choice, backed up by moments from the book and previous games. the amount of time, research, and effort that went into this is apparent. plus, you were very engaging as a narrator, and the jokes you sprinkled in from time to time were great! my hats off to you, not only am i subscribing right away but i’ll be watching any other wwgd videos you have asap! i can only imagine what a time sink this is, but i would love any further videos you put out that are of this genre.
I haven't watched the show but the games are damn good so I'd definitely suggest at least watching a playthrough of the story I've also heard they're a lot closer to the books which I've heard fairly positive things about so I dunno might be more worth it to look into other Witcher related media especially since they're recasting Geralt in the show.
If you like the game, or the books. You won't like the show, or vice versa, at least most likely. The only relevance at this point is literally Geralt. And they are replacing the actor, who literally pushed for this show to happen. They are completely separate things at this point. One is a badly written fan fiction for horny teenage girls or "woke" generic and biased people. The other is... well the reason it was made, and it's in itself it's own thing, and beloved for what it is, not for what it can be used for. I'm not just here trying to shut you down. I'm giving you a heads up that you will not find anything similiar outside of Geralt. Jaskier literally hooked up with medieval fantasy hitler. The Wild hunt makes no sense, and No character does what they would in the books or the game. It's very bizarre. So if you can managed to tolerate the extreme twists and changes made, good for you.
@@theninjamaster67 The first season is good, the second season shits all over the books and games. The first season is a fairly faithful adaptation of the early Witcher short stories (which were later compiled into the first book). The second season is when all the writers suddenly decided that they didn't like the books they were basing their show on and actively made decisions that I can't see as anything other than openly antagonistic against long time fans.
Excellent job, as someone in video production I know that every video you create (and truly care about) becomes a passion project and that really came through in this video. No corners cut here, you did an excellent job! Replaced or someone can go and read more about your production process? The s software you use, how you lay in the VO, etc.
Funny thing I noticed (but might not be anything...) 2:26:49. This moment where you make the choice to be with Ciri with the Lodge, remember all the flashbacks at the end, when Ciri has confronted the white frost. The flashback of the Lodge decision, shows Geralt dictating a little with Ciri faded into the background. It's weird that clip is there as there is no eventuality where that clip happens when you talk to the Lodge. So it looks very clearly like Geralt is 'speaking for ciri' when in reality he is just in the room, letting stuff play out, and checking Philippa when she chats rubbish. So I agree with @NeonKnight here on another level here. Geralt doesn't even push Ciri into a position where she isn't speaking for herself, he's just there to check them since Ciri hasn't the awareness of their tricks. I know the idea: Ciri should deal with this all herself, she's strong enough etc etc; but it really isn't as negative a connotation as the final flashback would implicate.
Just finished this BEAST of a video. What a gift to the Witcher community, can only imagine the work this took. Awesome job man. I can see this going viral again once the next Witcher game drops also 👀
Thank you very much for this amazing video. Well crafted and a joy to watch for almost three hours. And i think i'm not the only one who'd like future videos for secondary quests, witcher contracts, heart of stone and blood and wine.
Thank you for this amazing and high quality video. Thank you for the amount of time dedicated to this project. It definitely worth the time. It's wonderful how we still can learn new things about The Witcher 3 and it's been 8 years since released. Hope you can do that video of the Witcher contracts but I'll understand that could take a lot of time and you need to rest. You have a fan here in Mexico waiting for your content 💙🇲🇽.
The wait is finally over, I can't wait to watch all of this. I had a feeling it would release today, exactly a year after the 10 Choices Geralt Would Never Take.
Cannot wait to watch this! Been hyping this video for so long. You're solidifying yourself as one of the platform's best Witcher 3 content creators with every new video. We appreciate all the hard work you do to make a huge project such as this!
By far one of the "walkthroughs" of the game. I finished witcher multiple times years ago. It's a great video, makes me want to play more. You're a great creator i would love to see more. Congratulations on making one of the best witcher videos out there. Much love and admiration.
This isn't what this video is about, but the summary you gave of the story was amazing! It's been more than 6 years since I last played The Witcher 3, so my memory of the main quest and the lore-accurate sidequests Geralt would do was a little hazy. Having the story retold in this format with added information from the books and previous games etc. made me gain a whole new appreciation for the game. Like damn the story up until the last parts of the game is way better than I remembered! Thank you for the video!
This video is bonkers, only found your channel like a month ago, still amazed that even though we are coming up on a decade after W3 was released people are still making absolute banger videos on it
The video is amazing, loved every second of it, and almost three hours went by like a couple of minutes - very much alike to the actual game. Your Witcher content is absolutely top-notch, and I would love to see more of it should you have time and inspiration to continue this series. Thank you!
Amazing analysis! While it’s a shame to think Geralt would miss out on things such as assassinating Radovid and seeing Letho again (especially after your compelling argument that Geralt would definitely save him) I loved the breakdown of reasoning you gave as to each choice. I’d love to do a playthroughs mirroring these choices to experience how they play out in real time. I really hope this video does well for you because it absolutely deserves all the fan attention, and I definitely want to see at least a “WWGD” video on the two expansions, if not soon then hopefully later on down the road. In general I love the content and hope to continue to see more, whether is long analyses like this or otherwise!
no matter how many times I replay the baron's quests, turning the botchling into a lubberkin always hits hard, both knowing that poor Dea is given a proper passing, and you can truly tell how much doing this eats up a hard man like the baron. the music playing while that scene plays out only adds to the heartstring pulling
I would love to see more choices videos on side quests and DLCs! But i understand that it's exhausting. Thanks for this video! And i couldnt agree more with the Bart choice. If you kill Bart, you're inhuman.
I'm glad someone finally talked about all the "good" choices relating to Ciri's endings, even if you didn't cover all of them. They always felt like just encouraging her bad behaviour instead of being a good parent. Geralt should have been all "No Ciri, just because you think you're an adult doesn't mean I'm going to condone vandalism (Avallach's lair), assault (punching the women who mocked Skjall), and theft (stealing the horses). Geralt, more than anyone, should know when to take the higher road, especially in front of his daughter. Methinks him and Yen are the kind of enabler parents who let their children fly off the handle because they don't want to hurt her feelings. Like no, child, I'm not encouraging literal crimes just because people are mean to you. You're gonna be a future Witcher, dealing with mean people is just part of the job, grow a thicker skin. anyway rant over, great video. Would love to see you cover the DLC or Kingdom Come Deliverance. KCD has some very strange decisions regarding moralty and I've never seen someone pick them apart.
Imo there should have been a third option at Avallach's lair where you can do something like a fistfight against her so she can let her anger out. Regarding the horse theft at least if you advance the dialogue enough Geralt finds out that the only reason they aren't selling the horses is because they are racist
I've had this video opened as a tab since it was released, as I got really excited when you said in your TW2 video that you'd be doing this. I've only just gotten time today to watch the whole thing, and I was not at all disappointed. I appreciate the effort you put into this, man. All nearly 3 hours was absolutely worth it. Now I feel like I need to do a "what would Geralt do" playthrough where I keep the fact that Geralt is focused on Ciri in mind. The one thing I will say is that despite it not making sense, unless there is something I missed, the Keira questline with Fyke Isle should still be played earlier just so that it doesn't make absolutely no sense for Geralt to sleep with Keira after sleeping with Yennefer twice in quick succession and professing his love. That just doesn't sit right for me, and I feel like Geralt wouldn't do that when he just put so much effort into securing things with Yennefer. The only other thing I can justify Geralt going out of his way to do is to take the House of Reardon contract just because it ensures that Letho ends up in Kaer Morhen if you play your cards right, and also because if Geralt thought Letho was around, which he starts to suspect basically as soon as he gets to the property, he probably would have gone after him to see what he is doing. I can justify Geralt having to pass by the area of that quest just to get some coin for his later endeavors in finding Ciri. I hope you get the resources to do follow-up videos on TW3! This was a great one!
This is amazing, I‘ve been waiting for this ever since I saw your post announcing it, and it more than lived up to my expectations. Kerp up the great work
I'm glad you did this because it was eye opening for me. I am a naïve player and jump at the chance of helping anyone whom I come across. Example, I was so shocked by the gruesome death of Annabelle that I completely dismissed the queues that she wasn't being completely honest. Great video! Joy to watch!
It took me three days to get through this video, because I wanted to have time to focus and really enjoy it. Very worthwhile! I echo all the positive things I’ve seen in the comments already. Plus I love your deadpan delivery of some comedic points. “You must be doing a ‘bad choices’ playthrough.” Fabulous work, and I hope you are favored by the almighty algorithm!
This is one of the best series and deep dives into the game I've ever seen. The understanding you have of the characters is great to see, maybe CDPR won't have a race against the clock plot in their next game
Your breakdown of the “Evil Spirit of Velen” conflict actually makes a lot of sense. I was working off the benefit of hindsight so I knew that to save the kids you had to free the spirit. But I forgot that this thing has murdered plenty of innocent people and has little to prove it’s claims that remain unconfirmed until you see the consequences yourself. I like the ending of the Baron hanging himself and Anna dying more since it feels very thematically appropriate but the sight of villagers being terrorized by monster after freeing the spirit kinda confirms it’s claims of being a Druid is horseshit.
I was always torn about the best ending for the Baron. TBH, them both dying feels... somehow appropriate, because once you take in the ENTIRE story of the Baron and his wife, they are both horrid people. Personally I am SLIGHTLY more on the Baron's side because I can't stand cheaters, but that doesn't mean I approve of beating one's wife either. I think there's only a slight redemption in their daughter Tamara, but she's taken "comfort" in the eternal fire, which... well, we all know how THEY operate. I can only hope that she wises up after seeing what they do. Now that I think of it, the only innocent person in that family is Dea (the botchling).
@@too_s0ber910 Well I got the feeling deep inside the Baron wants to be better. Just see how he gave a random girl abandoned by her parents a new home, for nothing in return.
@@dr.vikyll7466 A very valid point, and that's why I'm more on his side than Ana's. He is actually remorseful for what he's done. But that doesn't really excuse his part in the abusive relationship.
I had no intention of watching a 2 and half hour long video about a series whose lore I’ve already thoroughly consumed, but your pacing and choices were just so tightly done I couldn’t look away. Brevity is the heart of wit and any number of these choices could’ve easily droned on a moment too long and have me click away but you timed it perfectly. I hope you get the support needed to continue. This was fantastic.
I've been coming back to this video for a clear rundown of the choices I want to make in my 2nd playthrough. Thanks NK! I enjoy how articulate you are about the nuances and lore accurate thought processes ^-^
I really hope the support from your viewers is strong enough for you to continue this series. I loved this entry and I wish you the best of luck with all that you do!
Not only did this scratch the itch to for another play-through, but I was impressed by your knowledge and enthusiasm. Thank you for sharing your take on the choices.
Why The Crones revealed themselves to Geralt as disgusting monsters instead of their fair form which they show locals from Downwarren? You would think they would do their best to keep up appearances around the village and could find more ways to use Geralt as a tool if they disguise themselves as young beautiful sorceresses. I think the story would have been so much better if Geralt only saw their fair for up until Bald Mountain
In the quest where u destroy the Avallac'h's lab, Yenn stays in character as 'mother' but does actually offschreen paints a mustache on the painting of Avallac'h, you can see this when the camera focusses on her at the end of the cutscene.
Yeah, I always liked that detail
Yen is just as rambunctious as Ciri and Geralt. She's just more subtle about it.

Geralt beating the crap out of Whoreson after seeing what he did to those women will forever be one of my favorite character moments. You don't have control over his choices in that moment, but agree with him 100%.

@@NubbletechI disagree. In the game there are a lot of black and white decisions. "help your friend or don't" are most of those
@@Nubbletech Yeah a lot of what the witcher is known for is Geralt being dragged into fights between a lesser, greater, or middling evil. In the end you find out that choosing any evil is bad even if it is "lesser."

Genuinely such top tier content on TH-cam from a guy who's clearly so passionate. I really hope he finishes the series.
Agreed
I with you on this. If Neon Knight isn't getting anything for his work, he shouldn't be forced to continue something that clearly takes months to make. However, these video are some of the best content about the witcher, especially if you learned about witcher through the games rather than the books.

He should do the Witcher 1 next but I do understand if he wants to wait for the remake because it can be a real headache to play nowadays.

@@TZhekaT well it's been a year since I saw the video so don't recall which ones😅
But like I wrote, it's a matter of personal interpretation, and the video in large is an amazing work
@@yuval_6999 agreed, video has little bit of bias, but holds mostly true. Speaking of W1, I still hold it as the better game especially how it handles the White Frost (making it a natural occurrence at the end of time space and not an actual antagonistic force) Also why Hearts of Stone and Blood and WIne play more like W1 - play out better
Because of this sense of urgency a lot of Book Geralt choices get curb stomped by the senes of urgency of saving Ciri.

all the people i can name off the top of my head that have concealed information from Geralt for selfish reasons
Triss - her entire romantic relationship with Geralt
Gaunter - he's a god, and he needs geralt
Yen. for like everything
Emhyr? (the only thing Emhyr wanted from Geralt was Ciri, and Emhyr was honest with that)
Bloody Baron's questline
Keira's quests
The Crones
Radovid
Dikjstra is surprisingly honest with Geralt
Phillipa is a scheming bitch but is also pretty honest - her schemes involve ciri and a position within Nilfguard's court, not getting something from Geralt (although she does ask Geralt to take Yen out of the picture)
Avalach?
Ciri (concealed from Geralt but for selfless reasons)
While the choice isn’t mentioned within the video since Geralt and Ciri don’t go down the path leading to it, when visiting Emhyr, while Geralt wouldn’t take the money, Ciri would just be like, “give me that!” in accordance with her book character.
Taking the money while wearing the professor's spectacles and donkey ears is the most in-character choice.

But when the dialogue with Sianna came I had only the options to lead to the bad endings.

Exquisite

Loved the video. I think your reasoning about Geralt's sense of urgency and how it would've driven many of the choices makes a ton of sense. It's too bad the game's design doesn't somehow encourage/reward this line of reasoning more than it does. Also, enjoyed the Megadeth reference!

Video Very Good!!! Seriously though, I love the interaction of someone informed about the books with the game. The books are so amazing and they don’t get enough youtube press, of great quality, since the games are so much more popular and visually stimulating.
Yep, players can choose whatever team they want, but "canon" Geralt is definitly on team Yen.
The right choice.
"wanted to be with you, before, during, after, and always."
So, yes, players can choose whatever they want. But there is no such thing canon Geralt would choose Yennefer.
Some Ginger VS Goth Mommy Sorceress is really no competition
You are a real gem of Witcher community! keep up the good work .

I never thought about Triss being in full control with the Menge scene, such a good angle.

Like damn the story up until the last parts of the game is way better than I remembered! Thank you for the video!
This video is bonkers, only found your channel like a month ago, still amazed that even though we are coming up on a decade after W3 was released people are still making absolute banger videos on it
I can’t wait for the DLC versions and other side quests if you’ve planned them. I’m hoping to join your patreon soon. Great work as always.
i really enjoy these videos, i have all 3 in a playlist and fall asleep to it every night. i’m just really happy this exist
The video is amazing, loved every second of it, and almost three hours went by like a couple of minutes - very much alike to the actual game. Your Witcher content is absolutely top-notch, and I would love to see more of it should you have time and inspiration to continue this series. Thank you!
Yes! So happy you've finally completed this! I really love your format and appreciate the work you had to put in to make this!
This was an extremely well written and edited video, and it would be very cool if you were to continue this series.
no matter how many times I replay the baron's quests, turning the botchling into a lubberkin always hits hard, both knowing that poor Dea is given a proper passing, and you can truly tell how much doing this eats up a hard man like the baron. the music playing while that scene plays out only adds to the heartstring pulling
Got through Velen and so far it’s perfect in decisions and editing/delivery. Liked and will finish later today. Great job!
You don’t have to sleep with Keira you can tell her that there is someone else and she will call Geralt old fashioned.
I really hope this does well! This was absolutely captivating. Would absolutely love to see more of this series.
This is such an awesome video.
Horseshit, eh? Clever
@@too_s0ber910 of course, no excuses, always selected the option to remind him it's his fault when I talked to him.
This was epic! Really appreciate the hard work. This must've been a daunting task. Very well done.
this 3 hour video deserves so much more than just a like and subscribe
I've been coming back to this video for a clear rundown of the choices I want to make in my 2nd playthrough. Thanks NK! I enjoy how articulate you are about the nuances and lore accurate thought processes ^-^
I really hope the support from your viewers is strong enough for you to continue this series. I loved this entry and I wish you the best of luck with all that you do!
Gotta love the tireless effort of this channel. Absolutely awesome 👏
Watched this for the second time. It’s just so good. The production. The quality. Just amazing.
They were about to tell him about how they almost ATE his daughter.
I don't think there was much point in keeping up any charade at this point xD
