The Witcher 2 was where I started, weirdly enough, because my rubbish laptop wouldn't run the third one and I wanted to play something, at least, and had too hard a time with the first game. But it's honestly what got me hooked, and I loved it, in spite of how clunky it was - and I played it through probably 10 times just to explore each of the endings and choices. I absolutely LOVED this video, because it brought back both memories and a sense of nostalgia, but also reminded me how intense and meaningful The Witcher 2 was when I played through it. So for one, thank you for that!! ♥I also loved the insight into "What would Geralt do", especially compared to the choices I made, because I had no context on any of it when I did play it, and it was really cool to see. I can only imagine what kind of work this took to assemble, but I would (personally) be ALL over this same take on the third one!!
I like to pride myself on having hundreds of hours on the W2 alone, but I’ve never heard the Little Sisters Quest put into so much detail and actually I never heard that interpretation. I just thought that the 3 specters disguised themselves as the sisters to purposefully kill the soldier, but I never figured out their motive.

This video very nicely highlights one of my main issues with 3. Despite being the shorter game, 2 feels like it has so many more hard choices where there's no clear cut right or wrong, or situations where there are purposefully vague information to really lean into how Geralt isn't psychic but simply has to do his best with the information he has. There are definitely some tough ones in 3 as well, but there's just so many choices that are outrageously WTF out of character options for Geralt like "Act like a dick to an orphan", "Snitch on nonhumans to local witch hunters", "Leave your friends to die", "Kill longtime acquaintance for minor slight", etc. etc.

Thank you so much for your effort and love for the Witcher games and books. I gonna say something to the Stennis situation as well. I agree Geralt would never let someone die or even push into a lynch mob. He himself ran into a mob to safe dwarfs and elves and took a pitchfork for it and died. He clearly despise mobs their dynamic and all they stand for with every fibre of his beeing.
Great video, and some food for thought on some of these decisions. I do think you've overlooked a *very* big factor in the "give Iorveth his sword back" decision, though. Iorveth is in on the conspiracy to kill Foltest. He doesn't even deny this. Geralt is trying to prove his innocence, among other things. He has ZERO reason to give Iorveth his sword back when turning him over to Roche may be a big part of clearing his name. By the same token, traveling with Roche gives him a degree of protection that he normally would not have, as Roche can (and does) repeatedly vouch for his character, meaning Geralt can move relatively unhindered, something he would not be able to do following an infamous Scoia'tael commando around. Finally, Letho has *teleported* away. There is no longer any *rush* to get to Triss because Triss is gone and you only have a vague idea where. Spending a few hours sorting out Loredo isn't going to make a lick of difference. Either Triss is safe in Letho's hands, in which case, no need to rush, or she's not, in which case its already too late.
I have never touched a single Witcher book until the long wait between 2 and 3. I am proud to say that my decisions in Witcher 2 perfectly matched the ones you listed, simply based on the lore available in the first two games, and my understanding of who the White Wolf is, as a person. Your masterful analysis truly put the capstone on the great design the first two had, even if their gameplay is... flawed to say the least. It really showed me why the hollow feeling I was left with at the end was so satisfying, I set out to clear my name of regicide, ended up an accessory to another regicide anyway, the actual assassin is a friend I am beholden to and one I owe big time, the massive big bad dragon I refused to consign to extinction (took Roche's path didn't even know it was Saskia at the time), my friend I could not help to carry on hope for Temeria, the non-humans got purged anyway, and the evil sorceress that orchestrated it all was just as duped as I was, I couldn't just stand by and watch her explode... In the end, I was left with a hollow feeling, I had accomplished nothing, got involved in a lot of politics and bore witness to a great deal of treachery and suffering, even Triss turned out to not be the famed sorceress that Geralt was in love with... I still insist that while the gameplay and sidequest stories of Witcher 3 are a massive upgrade, nothing any game has done (not just Witcher 3) matches the "so that's it huh?" Feeling that Witcher 2 gives you if you stick to Geralt's character. The same character they've been drip feeding you just sufficiently enough information to get you to question your choices every time you take them. Truth is, the very fact that you're choosing at all means you fell for the trap. A harsh lesson in what shaped Geralt into his morality in the first place, masterfully executed by the writers.
In fairness to Witcher 3, I felt it was fitting that he and his companions deserved a (mostly) happy ending after everything they've been through. I get why you liked Witcher 2 for its empty feeling but I'm glad that the third game ended the way it did. Just my two-cent opinion
Also the books already did leave you with that empty feeling as the ending is one of the most bitter sweet ones I have seen. Witcher 3 had to have a happy one you could get to, Geralt deserves it
Thank you for doing a Witcher 2 video. My favourite game in the franchise tbh, I like it more than Witcher 3, and that says a lot. And yes, I agree, Flotsam is absolurley my favourite location in any of the Witcher games, it's so atmospheric and the quests are so good.
I thought it was great to see you analyze the games from Geralt's perspective. I would love to see you do TW3 so I can do another playthough "as Geralt" after the next gen version drops
Sometimes it's a headache 'what would Geralt do' apart from helping widows and orphans. I always end up doing what he wants lol Great job...very thorough.
Very precise video!! Love how everything is in depth, no possibility left hanging. Really enjoyed the Little Sisters part. I'd love to see a video for the Witcher 1, this game is just amazing, and even if most choices have an expected outcome, the morality behind them is something I never seen matched.
Damnnn, you have such a cool content for us witchers fans, and I can tell you love the saga. Hope you keep on going with the upcoming next gen update and future games!! Love from Spain
My friend, this is the type of video that appreciates with time. Its a fine, red wine that you've poured your heart into. Such a beverage isn't something that'll give you instant gradification. Instead, it'll bloom over the years and then one day, when you least expect it, it'll be at the top-most viewed, with tens of miliions of watches and a comment section so long, it'll rival the books of the series you're covering. I write this 7 months after you posted and, as you can see, the Algorythm can be a fickle god. But you're making something special. Continue bottling your passion and allowing it to age. Soon everyone will be stopping by to have a drink.
Absolutely fantastic video! I would definitely like something like this done for the Witcher 3! As a person who just loves long form content that someone can just listen to this was perfect!
I am very grateful for all the time you spent on this video, sticking around until the end of it was the least I could do. It most certainly is not an "unwatchable mess".
I don't know if you know about it that much or have played, and most fanbase haven't, but now with the remake confirmation I think it the first game will appear a bit more, so it Might get some good views.
100% agree with every explanation you've given! You've ran through all the different options with a very nice pace and depth, this is a great video well done. I've subscribed.
Having never played W2 I didn't know the background between Geralt and Letho. In my first or second play of W3 I chose to import my W2 choices, so when Voorhis was interrogating me I just made shit up as questions came. No clue, just utter bs, not knowing I would wind up meeting Letho in W3. Now, I do not face the Wild Hunt without him. I love his character and W3 quest. He's a prickly pragmatic ox, but he's a bro. I appreciate the absolute lore and detail you brought to this video. It's like having a history lesson from a really engaging teacher on a topic you are already nuts about. It's honestly too bad Lauren Hissrich didn't get this history lesson...imagine the show we could have had! Thanks, Neon!
yes i would absolutely love to see this format implemented on the witcher 3 because in my recent playthrough i decided to not skip all the side content and realized how tricky it sometimes can be to get a good or slightly less bad ending. For example in the quest in brookback bog where you can either free or kill the spirit under the tree this was a hard choice because i wanted the children to survive the spirit to be freed because the crones didnt want that and i didnt really care about the villagers that the spirit kills i think in the end i came really close but the dialouge didnt make it that clear if the children survived but if they didnt the cope was that they belonged to the corrupt villagers but i think they survived because it wasnt mentioned that the crones ate them they just didnt mention that the spirit saved them so yeah absolutely you should make a video about geralts choices in the witcher 3
I remember a tough choice in the Skellige quest involving a Leshen and a village with clashing generational ideals (I believe it is called In the Heart of the Woods)
amazing video! as a book reader, i tried playing it as 'geralt would', and i went with roche as my iorveth needed saving, agree with you there completely. however, i eventually went to save anais, and my logic was that she is a little girl, and triss is not only a grown sorceress, but she also misled/lied to geralt by that point. i think geralt, with all his history of raising ciri etc + his original contract with foltest which was all about securing these kids, would go and save the girl whose brother and father were brutally murdered. thanks for the vids, ive watched all of them now, great job!
Idk about anyone else but I personally tried to do everything in the Witcher games based on how I believed Geralt would handle things on my first playthrough A Witcher 3 video like this would be awesome
listened the whole video in background, while playing.. it was just so calmful and relaxing + i agreed with like 70% or undersood the other possible choice.. great vid, I'd like to see same concept for W3
Would definitely love to see you tackle Witcher 1 and Witcher 3: Complete Game of the Year Edition Featuring Geralt from the Netflix Show: The Witcher and Knuckles with a lore accurate Geralt Mindset.
I'm glad someone is as passionate about The Witcher 2 as I am. In general, I feel like this game is being overlooked as many people who loved The Witcher 3 but couldn't coop with The Witcher 1 gameplay (very close-minded thing to do IMHO) have not even played this game, which I find such a shame as when I first played it I found it almost as good as The Witcher 3 (athough it's much smaller game with fairly more enclosed world, I think the quality of W2 does justice to the quality of its descendant). As for The Witcher 3, I'm really excited to see a video on Geralt's choices there aswell. Keep up the good work!
As awfully tempted to watch this video as I am, I have yet to play the witcher 2, so i'm going to refrain to avoid being vastly spoiled. i will watch it as soon as I'm finished with the witcher 2. Having played the witcher 3 throroughly though, I'd be super excited if you made a video on it with the same concept. And also on the DLCs maybe.
more of this please, fans always shape up and summ what unique characters in witcher lore are, not necessarily just based on books which i went through arent much focused on inner workings of the witcher fantasy world
This is fantastic. As a book reader I love seeing a topic taken from that perspective Also, I would love to see a video covering your top/favorite The Witcher characters
Roche is the only reason Geralt is alive, and not executed as a kingslayer. Iorveth had tried to kill Geralt every time he had encountered him up until that point. I feel like that should at least be considered in choosing who to side with.
Never got to play the Witcher 1 and 2 but i defenitly will now. And surely i'd love to have a vid in the same way about the witcher 3. Great peace of work, thx for that.
So I have officially watched every single video on your TH-cam channel. That doesn't happen very often. Since I've been watching your videos I've been playing through Witcher 1 and I finished reading the Last Wish and Sword of Destiny, excited for the next book. Keep these coming, I'm subscribed and will get a notification for every video you put out.
I get that frustration, I have felt it too. But look at it this way; most of us would give almost anything to get to play the games again for the first time! The first blind playthrough is a precious experience and you're lucky to experience it now. I'm jealous! 💀 Also, the fandom will be here waiting, we're not going anywhere.
In my first playthrough, I felt like I owed Roche for getting me out of prison so I went with his path and killed Letho because that's what I'd promised him I would do if/when we caught up to him. I do agree with the assessment here, though, Geralt wouldn't kill him.
Promises are meant to be broken, let's say that in a moment of passion you promise to kill someone else but that person is revealed to be completely innocent saint that was framed Would you kill almost a literal angel in that moment? By your logic you would since you won't break a promise Not saying that Letho is a saint but I don't think you should kill him just because of the singular reason you gave
I wasn't making any broad statements. I only said what I did and my reasons for doing it in this specific case. Edit: to answer your question, if I was doing an evil playthrough, I definitely would kill such a person, probably without promising to. On a normal playthrough, I likely wouldn't promise such a thing.

Witcher 3 had to have a happy one you could get to, Geralt deserves it
Well crafted analysis and very well presented as well...would appreciate similar content in the future...cheers !!!
You definitely gotta make a Witcher 3 version. This was such an entertaining and interesting video and I'd love to see another like it. Great work!!!
Thank you for doing a Witcher 2 video. My favourite game in the franchise tbh, I like it more than Witcher 3, and that says a lot.
And yes, I agree, Flotsam is absolurley my favourite location in any of the Witcher games, it's so atmospheric and the quests are so good.
well I guess you've just decided what I'll spend my evening on.))
it's a great video so I can't see why not rewatch it.
I cannot wait for your What Would Geralt Do Witcher 3 video!
I thought it was great to see you analyze the games from Geralt's perspective. I would love to see you do TW3 so I can do another playthough "as Geralt" after the next gen version drops
That's an incredible work you did on this video. I enjoyed greatly watching it. It was also somewhat nostalgic to come back to this game. Thank you!
It’s back. I wanted to watch it when it first came out but I didn’t have the time and by the time I had the time it was gone. Gonna enjoy this
Damnnn, you have such a cool content for us witchers fans, and I can tell you love the saga. Hope you keep on going with the upcoming next gen update and future games!! Love from Spain
This video is some of the best analysis on Witcher 2 in video form. Thanks for bringing it to life once again.
The best is clearly made by Joseph Anderson.
@@VictoriousVictorian Nah, this one is better.
Such a great video, hands down one of the best Witcher videos out there..
Thank you so much for making this and can't wait for more
your content is witcher heaven. never shy from long uploads, i love this so much!
I am very grateful for all the time you spent on this video, sticking around until the end of it was the least I could do. It most certainly is not an "unwatchable mess".
Great Video, can’t wait for the third game
I'm probably one of the very few (if any) asking for this. Please do it to The Witcher "1"!
I don't know if you know about it that much or have played, and most fanbase haven't, but now with the remake confirmation I think it the first game will appear a bit more, so it Might get some good views.
This was so damn fun. You did an excellent job of explaining your points.
100% agree with every explanation you've given!
You've ran through all the different options with a very nice pace and depth, this is a great video well done. I've subscribed.
Definitely interested in watching more of this :) Watched the whole thing!
Amazing job as always!!! Listening on vacation
This video is amazing I’m gunna watch it again and take notes or something this time because I feel like I should
32:07 Stennis has a nickname in the Polish witcher community, "Pennis"
Congratulations on getting this video back, glad I was able to watch it the first time round.
yes i would absolutely love to see this format implemented on the witcher 3 because in my recent playthrough i decided to not skip all the side content and realized how tricky it sometimes can be to get a good or slightly less bad ending.
Idk about anyone else but I personally tried to do everything in the Witcher games based on how I believed Geralt would handle things on my first playthrough
A Witcher 3 video like this would be awesome
So glad I get to see this again in youtube :D masterful video Neon
listened the whole video in background, while playing.. it was just so calmful and relaxing + i agreed with like 70% or undersood the other possible choice.. great vid, I'd like to see same concept for W3
An excellent, watchable non-mess. Thank you.
Already watched it before it was removed but i leave a comment to help this video get the views it deserves :)
Very well done. I’m surprised that my choices playing W2 for the first time align perfectly with Geralts. Would love to see this for W3.
Please do this for The Witcher 3, this video is very good and makes me want to play The Witcher 2 again.
As a book reader I love seeing a topic taken from that perspective
Also, I would love to see a video covering your top/favorite The Witcher characters
Amazing video, love to see someone who really understands Geralt.
Holy shit its back
What an insane video to make haha. i loved it!
IT'S BACK!
Love your content been here since the first video glad you got this video up.
I'd love to see a W3 version of this as well!
watching it for the second time :) such a good vod mate. Keep it up.
bought this game today because it's on an 85% sale, perfect timing
Loved the video, gave a lot of useful information about Witcher 2 to someone who hasn't played it
Wonderful! Now waiting for what netflix should have done!
Pin this. LOL this is the best comment here.
I would love to see a witcher 3 analysis
a very interesting and amazing watch
you're truly a Loremaster of the mind of Geralt and the witcher! I respect that!
I wish I could watch this hour long video from you. Alas, I am yet to get out of Flotsam and want to avoid any and all spoilers for the game :(
I get that frustration, I have felt it too. But look at it this way; most of us would give almost anything to get to play the games again for the first time! The first blind playthrough is a precious experience and you're lucky to experience it now. I'm jealous! 💀 Also, the fandom will be here waiting, we're not going anywhere.
@@atinity6749 Well said. I agree 100%.
Thanks for reuploading this, I missed it first time round.
Hope you have no monetisation issues this time!
Can you do this for the Witcher 1?
0:42:03 nobody’s gonna break my stride nobody’s gonna hold me doooown oh no you got to keep on moving
Thanks for the reupload. Are you planning on doing TW1 and TW3 ones too?
Excellent video! I'm so glad it's back, I was probably as mad as you after YT removed this video. Now I finally watched it whole, thank you!
Never played it but I'll watch it to get a good idea of the witcher 2
Even with all the spoilers here you will still enjoy W2. It's a very good and fun game
@@daveshank1921 yes I have also seen a "game movie" partly and also some scenes of it too.. it seems pretty great
I loved this video glad it’s back up
In my first playthrough, I felt like I owed Roche for getting me out of prison so I went with his path and killed Letho because that's what I'd promised him I would do if/when we caught up to him. I do agree with the assessment here, though, Geralt wouldn't kill him.
Promises are meant to be broken, let's say that in a moment of passion you promise to kill someone else but that person is revealed to be completely innocent saint that was framed
Would you kill almost a literal angel in that moment? By your logic you would since you won't break a promise
Not saying that Letho is a saint but I don't think you should kill him just because of the singular reason you gave
I wasn't making any broad statements. I only said what I did and my reasons for doing it in this specific case.
Edit: to answer your question, if I was doing an evil playthrough, I definitely would kill such a person, probably without promising to. On a normal playthrough, I likely wouldn't promise such a thing.

Keep it up! :D
Amazing video, you could stretch the video with all the details of every quest and it would still be interesting all the way through
Thank you for the effort :)
I’ve always been curious about 2’s plot, but didn’t really wanna play it myself for various reasons. This felt like a good abridged version, great breakdowns of the different paths. Thank you!
Just love how you not only answered "What Would Geralt Do?" but also gave out enough information to justify the answers, great video.
“You’ll also find Phillipa Eilhart, who is having a below average day” absolutely cracked me up, thank you.
This was great, glad TH-cam finally played ball and I got to see it! I’d definitely watch one of these for W3, if you’re feeling up for it.
When this first uploaded, I couldn't watch it right then so I scheduled it on the day it got removed. Finally, I can watch it.
watching Sheala get torn up in the portal was incredibly satisfying, it was one of those "I don't care what Geralt thinks" moments that I have just enjoyed for myself.
also, is it wrong of me to like Letho even after everything? I just think he and Geralt make such cool bros and I love him in the third game :)
finally, I don't think it even should be said - there must be The Witcher 3 video just like this one!
Good to see this back up again! I watched it fully back when it first came out, before it was taken back down, but ima watch it again because it's a great video!
Okay. How about this? Once you get to 100k, you do a “what would Geralt do” -romance version
Dude where has these videos been on my feed?! As a gigantic fan of the Witcher, I love stuff like this. Great video, you more than deserve this like and sub. :)
This was great! Keep em coming!
I'd love to see a video like this for Witcher 1 as well, even if he does have amnesia lol.
