      I had a c-section 12yrs ago; No issues. D&C 17yrs ago; no issues. But not every surgery is the same.
      Are there certain health conditions that predisposes patients to these complications? Or is it more about the surgeon’s technique & experience, or a combination of both?

    Hi, what do you do to ensure patient safety? How do you try and avoid fat Embolisms ? That and being under anesthesia is what is stopping me 😩.

    • @barrettplasticsurgery
      @barrettplasticsurgery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      in case of BBL it is important to avoid injecting fat into the muscles. Fat should be injected above the muscles in order to avoid complications. Also, anesthesia is very safe. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

  • @staybeautiful305

    Hi, doctor! I liked this video a lot. But just wondering, is there a difference between injecting under the muscle? Is that the same as into the muscle?

    • @barrettplasticsurgery

    I want to get a bbl done , but because I am living in South America it's quite difficult. I would have to travel and I know absolutely no one who can accommodate me,when it's time to recover fully. My greatest worry is flying back to my country.Would sitting on that plane for like 10 hours cause trouble. Honestly staying in a hotel would be costly for me. SORRY FOR MY WRONG ENGLISH

    • @barrettplasticsurgery
      @barrettplasticsurgery  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides.
      Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area.
