I think Valor, the Worder must have been trying to pick up the "khans or dragons" templating from the Siege cycle in Fate Reforged. It just didn't connect the anchor words "fade" or "five dragons" to any actual abilities.

    Final third of this video:
(58:03) Hand of Conrois: Fair, ship. Heh, we've got "Indicate" on a body now. Also, same stats and mana value as Squire and Multawurm. Maybe they can all be friends. :P
(58:56) Diviner Mage: Underpowered, word salad, ship. I'm not sure how keeping your opponents from hearing land would help, and I don't know what gians is/are at all, but apparently it/they must be something worth keeping your opponents from hearing.
(1:00:19) Provine of Land Street: Fair, ship. Lots of words on this card, but they all make perfect sense. Got a lot of tiny creature tokens you don't need? Feed them to this guy to make him really huge! And, if this guy should die, he can still help your team from the grave. It Zibers!
(1:01:50) Legabriammut Neutily: Fair, ship. Huh, quite interesting to have an ability to make a creature lose haste until end of turn.
(1:03:50) Memory Protector: Likely OP, ship then ban later. I think its stats are pushed for its mana cost, and it makes copies of itself whenever it attacks, which can get out of control quickly if left unchecked. Of course, I'd gladly put this into my Angels deck if it were a real card and didn't get the ban hammer.
(1:05:59) Crevate: Self-destructive, ship then probably never use. Even without the "lose the game" downside, this is kinda weak. I suppose you could combine it with Hive Mind or Sudden Substitution to make your opponent lose the game, though. (I really want to try something like that with the One With Death card. :P)
(1:08:33) One With Death is the Playtest card that simply says "You lose the game.", and costs just a single black mana to cast.
(1:08:40) Saltwater Juggernaut: Fair, ship. It's a good way to fetch basic lands, but how is this thing not a creature?
(1:10:11) Mana Mnorie: Underpowered, word salad, shred... unless Grible 5 turns out to be something much more than a King of the Hill character, I tell you what. :P
(1:11:23) Lothe Cave: OP, shred. Weird how it's an equipment, but that doesn't stop this card from being an inefficient mana rock and stealing everyone's hands and graveyards! That's illegal! IT DANGER!!!
(1:12:36) Campus Cell: OP, word salad, shred. There are so many things wrong with this. It should be locked up in a school prison for life. :P
(1:14:55) Spell Hellion: World salad, likely OP, ship then ban later if needed. Here, have an elemental on the house. Also, two mana to hit all attacking creatures for 4 may be a bit too pushed. Although... Perhaps "Have an elemental." means you must actually have an elemental under your control in order to cast this? That would be interesting.
(1:16:59) Bloodthorn Thopter: OP, word salad, shred. I see this one took inspiration from Doctor Who, turning the TARDIS into a helicopter. And, since it's a Time Lord Doctor, you can partner it with any legendary creature that has Doctor's Companion, which is neat. Unfortunately, the first ability is wonky, and the second ability completely bricks the game if you would lose to a state-based action, such as having 0 or less life. What this probably should've done is... remove the first ability entirely, and then when the second ability triggers, you exile Bloodthorn Thopter, set your life total to 1 if you had 0 or less, set your poison counters to 9 if you had 10 or more, and set your commander damage to 20 for any commanders that had dealt 21 or more combat damage to you. Of course, good luck having the AI try to come up with anything clever like that.
(1:18:50) Thieves' Word: OP, ship then ban. It's on par or better than Tolarian Academy, Gaea's Cradle, and Serra's Sanctum! Oh, and then it lets you go nuts with free spells from your hand after you cast an enchantment and pay an additional 2! IT DANGER!!!
(1:20:53) Seye Sentinel: S-POOJT, sprout, fair, ship! Well, then! Seems that Death Goblin, flying, deeply, and strounged behemoth have some new competition! Although, looks like this american doggy has also voted for flying, so you know who it truly supports. :P

    Second third of this video:
(29:47) Mirror Research: Underpowered, ship. Heh, it's a new version of "Indicate". :P
(30:59) Multawurm: Super duper sweet, ship! Yes, I'd be friends with this little guy! As far as its stats go, it's the same as the lowly Squire, but don't be underestimating that Friends ability, or else you'll be sorry! It Zibers!
(32:33) Affer Gafsizer: Fair, ship. Certainly an unusual ability, but everything is doable.
(34:35) Karliod Sledge: Fair, ship. More horsemanship FTW. I do find it funny how the Bird token has horsemaship but not flying, while the main creature itself is clearly riding a horse, but has flying instead.
(36:29) Unbear, Forguin Badger: Fair, ship. Wow, that art is a hilarious animal mashup. Also, thanks for explaining how one of the basic actions of the game works, rules text!
(38:51) Elvish Champion: Disqualified due to its name already being taken. But, aside from that, it seems fair to me, although it's a bit heavy on the trample redundancy. Triple trample trouble FTW. :P
(41:09) Numble-Pratefirer's Bodories: Word Salad, shred. Hey, you can't take most of your opponent's library and add it to your own. That's illegal!
(43:58) Huhtcropulate Geist: Likely OP, ship then ban later if needed. Wow, that's quite a potentially powerful mana dork. How practical would it be to use in practice, though? I'm sure someone could make this thing work to great effect somehow.
(46:09) Btee, the Unsay: Maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Interesting way for blue to eventually board wipe, while drawing extra cards during the waiting period. Drawing 2 cards per turn until Btee explodes is probably OP, though. Maybe if the -1 only had you draw just 1 card instead, it would be more fair.
(49:12) Capic Confluence: Fair, ship. Seems like a powerful aura, but that drawback is interesting, in that if the enchanted creature ever deals damage, you lose it completely.
(50:38) Reminds me of the art on the Doctor Who version of Farewell.
(50:55) Oh, that's interesting tech against non-blue creatures your opponents have, because it won't get the buff or the token-generating ability, but it'll still be subject to being exiled as soon as that creature deals damage.
(52:01) Konda's Cares Token: Cute, ship! Reminds me of Care Bears from the old days.
(52:13) Jhian, Scholar's Mace: OP, ship then ban. This is what creates Konda's Cares, and if it stopped there, it would be fair. But, then it lets you summon every planeswalker from your deck in one fell swoop? IT DANGER!!!
(54:50) Thriving Patssage: Fair, ship. Very interesting ability for sure. I would assume the active player gets first dibs on activating a creature ability, and the inactive players have to wait until priority is passed. Also, Patssage-ak certainly is Thriving as the host of Wheel of Fortune. :P

    • @MrEliakimRAS
      @MrEliakimRAS 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

If the aura can only enchant a creature, it goes to the graveyard as soon as the vehicle stops being a creature.
      Ruling:
303.4c If an Aura is enchanting an illegal object or player as defined by its enchant ability and other applicable effects, the object it was attached to no longer exists, or the player it was attached to has left the game, the Aura is put into its owner’s graveyard. (This is a state-based action. See rule 704.)

    First third of this video:
(0:00) Nightmire Blink: Word salad, shred. Technically doesn't work as written. If it said, "When Nightmire Blink enters the battlefield, choose one --", then it would work fine, and would probably be fair. Also, cool name for the second option.
(1:39) Savage Gladewalker: Word salad, shred. As with Nightmire Blink, the second ability should say when it enters the battlefield. Also, Buyback on a creature _can_ work, like with the playtest card, Innocuous Insect, and is quite interesting. However, the reminder text mismatches the stated mana cost. Oops.
(1:43) Oh, as a Killbot, it's more support for Mary O'Kill! ...If its text weren't word salad...
(3:34) Valor, the Worder: Fair, ship. Man, those five dragons sure look tempting, but I think I'm gonna choose fade instead. Too bad that choice doesn't do anything, but the rest of the card is pretty neat. Too bad this -Dragon- Damage doesn't have flying.
(5:39) Willow Kharn: Fair, maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Wow, this is quite the well-made Planeswalker by the AI. Everything works, and generatng a creature token when it takes damage certainly is neat design space for sure, although that may push it into OP territory. I think it Zibers overall, though!
(8:18) Viashino Steader: Word salad, shred. Ledger Shredder connives, while this guy connaves. And, the AI isn't flying here, but instead falling with style. :P
(9:48) Serra Grater: Super duper OP, shred it with her cheese grater head! Yeah, I'll take unlimied power on demand for $200, Alex. IT DANGER!!! Now, if this Behelioo's pump ability had cost 1 or 2 mana instead of 0, this would've been fair and not ultra broken.
(11:23) Ceitation Lyst Rabble: Fair, ship. Note that giving something a ward ability in response to a targeted effect won't help against that effect. And, someone can use an instant-speed effect in response to you trying to give something ward 5 with this. However, this doesn't say "until end of turn", so if you can get a ward 5 to stick, then it'll be next to impossible for the opponent to deal with it using targeted stuff, especially since you can stack multiple ward 5 abilities together. Ward 10? Ward 15? Ward 9,765,625? Yeah, go nuts! :P
...Oh, and the _"Metalcraft"_ word actually has no meaning, as it doesn't say that you need to control three or more artifacts to activate that ability, so you can use it regardless of the number of artifacts you control.
(13:38) Clear the Wind: Fair, ship. Okay, so you can either pay W or pay W to cast this. That silliness aside, this is a neat damage/buff spell, with a properly-working kicker. Of course, it's a color pie break, but who really cares about that when it comes to the AI? Oh, and the buff effect isn't until "end of turn", so it's like Riding the Dilu Horse.
(15:04) Wouldn't most tax effects (like Trinisphere) also equally increase the alternate casting cost?
(16:22) Carnage Elemental: Fair, maybe OP, ship then ban later if needed. Wow, a 10/10 for 5 mana, just like Gigantosaurus. Yargle, eat your heart out! And, spells like Sign in Blood that are good to target yourself with will make this thing a real threat! It Zibers!
(18:48) Kroon Seer: Fair, word salad, ship. Faithless Looting on legs, yo. And, thanks for the reminder text about what damage does to your life, just in case we forget. :P
(20:39) One With: Fair, ship. It's okay in general, even better against Vampires, and has a niche use in case you need a coin flip trigger, like with Chance Encounter. Also, that art is really cool.
(23:30) Silverquill Dragon: Likely OP, word salad, ship then ban. Well, the mana cost is pointless, as it's a land. Other than that, this looks like an OP effect, but maybe it's fair, since it uses up your land drop, and there needs to be a creature present, or else it can't do anything.
(26:12) Rat Alley: Super duper OP, word salad, shred. Baron Von Count would be proud! The art is hilarious and fitting too.

The first land works, there are MTG lands that do not tap for anything and function like a Aura, so it is a interesting way to balance a spell, make it a land so you can only drop one per turn and you miss your land drop but you get a spell effect for free from it.

The Patssage messes up Mtg completely. Mana producing is never about priority. Unless it's Deathrite Shaman's effect which is no mana ability, the activation of stuff like Birds of Paradise, Llanowar Elf etc is literally the fastest thing existing in the game so the priority is literally BuT i TaPpEd It FiRsT. • @Laezar1
    @Laezar1 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

42:24 ok but you can make that into a sick card though the idea is great!
Something like "4mana : target opponent discards their library then chose 15 cards from their graveyard and shuffle them in their library"
This would have a lot of interesting properties for a milll deck. First being that it has the same effect regardless of how many cards have been milled so far so you want it to be the first mill card you play.
But it's got some internal conflict because you might not want 4 of those in your deck since only the first copy really does anything. Which is really neat since players would need to build their mill in a different way to resolve that conflict.
With the version I've given you have the added interesting part of the opponent chosing what they keep meaning their deck is reduced to what they think will actually beat you which adds even more tension but that's secondary to the general idea of a mill card that results in a constant effect.
Obviously has to bump the mana cost a bit and number of cards left cause otherwise that'd be toxic af =p but number can be tweaked that's not really important (although I do believe a higher mana cost also plays into that tension of an effect you want to be the first you're going to play but that take some investment to get there).

You know the sometimes incomprehensible flavor text on those AI generated cards can mean something we just cannot decipher without the "code" (invented by the AI). I remember an experiment in which AI were "talking" to each other and then the language somehow went from understandable to gibberish, like a secret code or something, which the humans could not follow anymore but the AI could still. It was at this point a Q&A back and forth of the AI secret code invented on the fly from now on.

Destroy is an evergreen action keyword defined as "When a permanent is destroyed, it is moved from the battlefield to its owner's graveyard"
So, the player moves into the graveyard? Do they lose when they are in the graveyard? I've never seen rulings about players being in zones other than "the game".
So I looked it up. There's an uncard called 'Baron Von Count" which has the text "... destroy target player" It's accompanied by the clarification on gatherer "1/19/2018 If a player is destroyed, that player loses the game. There aren’t any ways for a player to regenerate… yet."
Giant hammer rat, Rat Allay, is the totally possible table flip card of mtg! However, if you have anything that grants "you cannot lose the game" it turns into a actual, legitimate wincon. You'd be in the graveyard... But you won!

I wonder if anyone would play a game of magic where they give a name for a card to be generated. Then you get the first playable card generated based with that name. At the start of the game you need to have a list of the names you are using for your starting hand. each time you would draw you replace that card with the generated card, unless it is a generated card that was put in your library.

Chalice of Reckoning 1 white, 1 generic
    Legendary Artifact
Whenever Chalice of Reckoning's controller takes damage, add a charge counter equal to the amount of damage taken.
Sacrifice Chalice of Reckoning: Deal damage to target player equal to amount of charge counters on Chalice of Reckoning. Activate this ability only as a sorcery.

That's a cool card, I'd sugest putting it on a creature and then send to print. Just because it would be easier to remove for all colors that way as the ability is very strong.
Really like it! Just some colors that can't respond to artifacts will instantly lose the game to this one. So that's why you make it a creature.
OR you could say "add charge counters unless the player dealing that damage pays 1"

Why does everyone forget how protection works? The Rat Alley's ability isn't targeted. To remember protection, remember DEBT. Damage, Equip/enchant, Blocking, and Targeting.
Since the ability is non-targeted, you'd get nothing from "protection from everything".

Still wouldn't work since the ability is not targeted. One ring only gives protection. Following the protection acronym DEBT (damage, enchanting/equipping, blocking, and targeting) you'd still be destroyed since its not damage and it's not targeted..
Just to quickly clarify, "if a player is destroyed, they lose the game" is an actual rule on gatherer for the card "Baron Von Count".
The only way you could dodge this ability is with any of the cards that grant "you cannot lose the game" such as Platinum Angel, Gidion of the Trials, or The Book of Exalted Deeds.
Interestingly, the haste ability could have a single use, as you could attack someone who has a 1 loyalty Gideon and the emblem on the board. Except, the Rat Allay is a sorcery and therefore can't attack... Still. You can legitimately win a game with this card! It actually works!

@@algotkristoffersson15 Ask the magic Gods this question... I'm assuming it's a game design reason, to give some level of interactivity and incentivise resilliant deck design. The number of times I've won against one trick ponies with cards like Serra's Emarsarry on Creature or using spyglass/pithing needle to shut down a single card is silly. It makes for more fun games that aren't one sided to have a vulnerability. It also enables some really nice combos. Playing the Rat Alley with 'you can't lose the game' is just another way the card is viable.
Like Nikachu said, the only real way to get around literally everything is to phase out or have 'you can't lose the game'.

You got Ward wrong. You could def give Ward as a reaction, because it counters the spell. Ward has nothing to do with limiting or restricting his it’s targeted. It’s not hexproof.
So when you give ward at instant speed in reaction to a spell that targets your creature, you’re literally countering that spell. It’s sick.

    • @NikachuMTGLive
      @NikachuMTGLive  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Ward specifically says "Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability" which means ward already needs to be on the creature BEFORE they are targeted. If they are targeted first and then you give them ward, it's too late. Ward isn't continuously checking if a creature is targeted, only the moment it gets targeted the first time. There's a lot of cards that interact like this in MTG, unless there's a weird judge ruling that makes ward an exception.
