Everything here just shows that Ainz made a poor choice of who to send to this mission. Ainz sent Shalltear (because she is one of the only guardians who can pass for human) to look for people using martial arts she couldn’t even tell that Brain was using martial arts. Then she got her blood frenzy and she couldn’t even figure out how to handle witnesses.
Not to mention just before entering the cave she was told by her brides that got intel from the ambush people "a man called Brain Unglaus is in there and can use martial arts". And Sebas confirmed he was supposed to be comparable to Gazef. Only for Shalltear instantly forget it.

Apparently that guy who got eaten by Solution had his body burned little by little while he was eaten alive and getting sucked into her body

or in other words he was simply digested inside the slime body of Solution Epsilon (the blonde battle maid).
according to the manga she kept him alive for about 24 hours.
he got melted again and again and again and again. even Lupusregina praises solution's healing skills

1:47: She's one of the _combat_ maids. The Pleiades are designed to have a sister dynamic between themselves.
Brain was once a normal farmer until he figured out he had a Talent that made him an extremely good swordsman. Gazef handed him his first loss, and since then, Brain resolved to win in a rematch and abandoned everything to pursue martial strength.
However, being defeated by Shalltear completely destroyed his spirit. Brain sunk into really deep despair upon realizing that all his training was a waste of time. He didn't lose to Shalltear in the cave, he lost to her before he was even born.
In the novel when Shalltear said that the knight leading that group was strong she stated he felt about as strong as Narberal Gamma, which makes him around level 60.
Ridiculously strong by New World standards but nothing special by Nazarick standards.
Do we ever learn who he is in the novel??

I feel bad for Brain, being called a bitch and so on, he is one of the best sword fighters in the kingdom :O must have been quite the shock to meet a creature that is so fare above him and everything he knows in strength
I think him being a bitch was an assessment of his personality, not his skill level. Look at the swords of darkness adventurers, they are even weaker by our standards but nobody calls them that because they stood their ground, yeah they were trapped but even then they tried to protect nphirea
I wouldn't compare the 2. One is a almost max lvl vampire thing, and the other is a mid lvl human at best.
The difference between Clementine and Shalltear is unmeasurable.
Everyone that meets one of the floor guardians and is able to measure their power is filled with dread.

Without spoiling to much, AJ did got it right. Shalltear got mind controlled and the "spell" ignored her undead mind control immunity.
A very particula thing in the game Momonga played, is that characters can rise levels in classes (warriors, mage, etc.) or race levels (demon race, succubus, vampire, lich among others,) so several characters are amalgamations of different races and classes. I believe Albedo has succubus, imp and others while Shalltear has vampire, true vampire I think valkyrie, so the game had a lot of customization.
Ok now I get why their busted as F. I thought it was weird for character like Shaltear to have holy Magic

Most of Nazarik have their "cute mode" and their "monster mode", I guess. Except Albedo, I'm not sure she has a monster mode... unless you count her terrifying "Sasuga Ainz-Sama💖" faces... 😅
She also has a monster form. It is noted in one volume. However I don't remember which one it was.
Accualy Albedo is the only one with the true "Monster Form". We have no idea what the hell is it, but novel gave a glimpse of it in vol 1 (aftet Ainz tanked direct hit from "the highest" angel). Technicly Sebas and Demiurge aslo have "final forms" but (probably) they arent as monsterous...and abaut Shalltear "monster mode". This is her default look as a True Vampire, her "cute mode" is...like fking everything in games...cash shop effect

@@xsardes336 in the first episode, while shaltier and albedo are figthing over whi is gona be ainz wife, albedo calls lamprey to shaltear (un this episode is confirmed that un fact she looks like one) and shaltear calls gorilla to albedo this could bee a hint about his trie form, bit isnt confirmed yet
Brain is not really "over confident" normally he is just one of the strongest people... well not anymore obviously.
i thinks its pretty common that Vampires often look beautiful at first, but when they show their true face/from they get kinda ugly.
Brains biggest flaw was his over-confidence. It's precisely *because* he saw himself as the strongest warrior and used that as an excuse to start slacking off and no longer push himself to always go one step further (after all, if you're already the best then why bother)
Gazef was strong too but he never stopped training because he knew the value of humility and not assuming you're better than others.

his god flash + field technique is his speciality, used to kill pretty much anyone in the new world. Before Shaltear, none of his oponents could resist it. He also used insta-kill move since he was worried about Shaltear calling vampire bride to help her if she started loosing. Brain was also confident that our favorite vampire was the over-confident one as we can read in the novel, and after his duel with Gazef, he was sure that every over-confident oponent can be defeated. Aditionaly, Brian trained every single day, purposefully avoiding easier jobs to become as strong as he can. His sole reason for joining the bandits was to train with them, not to get rusty. I totaly understand why he ran away from oponent that could defeat him, eyes closed, with fingernail

Solution Epsilon is a Predator Blue slime and a member of the Pleiades, her "father" is HeroHero (the Elder Black slime from Episode 1 talking to Momonga).
Shaltears vampire form is based on the Lamprey. from the Japanese equivilant of vampires.
Shaltear's true form resembles a lamprey (something that Albedo called her early on)
Earlier in one of the name callings between Albedo and Shalltear, Albedo called Shalltear a lamprey, that pretty much describes the mouth, and teeth.
10:01 I love the attention to detail here. There's a character in that group way in the background that's from so far into the series that she still hasn't shown up proper in the latest season. The fact that they added her was a nice touch.
All the members of of the Pleadies battlemaids are various kinds of monsters. Such as Werewolf, Dullahan, insect monster, frankenstein, Slime monster etc. They favorite thing to do is devouring humans while maintaining the beautiful forms.

I love how like in the first episode Albedo calls Shalltear a "lamprey", and Shalltear retorts and calls Albedo a "gorilla". It was foreshadowed and most people don't even remember they said that. :D
...i can't keep this quite no more! i'm spilling the beans on the races most of these characters are! even i was shocked to know most of these when i wanted to know. so here goes! (and it's mostly the Pleiades i'm talking about)

i just had to say something. these were all pretty cool to hear about and it's not like the show makes it easy to know this. i mean, most look human, which is odd for a all monster's faction.
So... massive spoilers for even for anime -only viewers who have watched it all, or do the OVAs reveal all of this?

@@KamisamanoOtaku No need for apologies, I'd need to rewatch to be sure as well, but digressions aside it's a big problem a lot of light novel anime have where they skip so much exposition that they leave some watchers confused for example Reincarnated as a Slime skipped an arc and a bunch of helpful info in its adaptation.

The main reason Shalltear seems crazier than Albedo is that Shalltear is... kinda dumb. Not so much *incapable* of thought as not ever doing any real thinking. Apparently her text box was mostly a list of fetishes rather than a detailed backstory like Albedo had. Thus Albedo has a lot more self control than Shalltear does because her composure is part of her written backstory.
Shalltear can learn though and if the anime covers some of the later light novels we'll even get to see it.

The potion damaged Shalltear, becaquse thats what potions do to undead. In fact, both potions and healing magic does so. Instead undeads heal with negative energy spells, which damage living things. Just like Kajit healed the skeleton dragon wit the ray of negative energy.

I love the interaction with Brain. Brain has noticed just how mistakenly arrogant monsters are thinking no one can defeat them when there is always someone stronger and accuses Shalltear accordingly. The best part is the horror in his face at the moment of realization that he has commuted this very same hubris and flees in absolute terror.

I see a lot of people get Ains feeling's wrong with the adventurer bros. before the fight he says "it'd be hypocritical of me to be upset at you, because I might do the same" (being he might kill people's friends). then after crushing Clemintine to death, he says "I forgot to mention, I'm very hypocritical"

okay let me just warn you that this is kinda of a spoiler so read at your own accord...
Shalltear as an undead NPC she is basically immune to every type of mind control effects/spells... however she DID indeed got mind controlled ... how u ask?? WORLD!!! ITEM!!! ... what are world items u ask?? Items that are powerful enough to change/shape worlds ... so following the Nordic Mythology ... Yggdrasil is the World Tree and exists 9 worlds... Asgard, Midgard, Niffleheim etc etc...these are a few of the remaining 9 worlds that the World Tree left ... FROM 200... so basically there are 200 World Items in the World of Yggdrasil with only 50 ( i believe) to ever been found in the 12 years of uptime... so now.. the world item that was used against Shalltear is called Downfall of Castle and Country (10:06 the robe that old lady is using).... its effect is simple... Mind Control ANY CREATURE ... However mid mind control Shalltear launched an attaack (10:16) which managed to kill the dude in front and the lady that used the world item... this meant that Shalltear was basically left without any orders ( your basic Boss that attacks only if u attack it) and that is why Shalltear "revolted" against Nazarick
The attack shalltear did also injured the lady with downfall of castle and country.

The white dress with the golden dragon that the one mage had is an Yggdrasil world item named "downfall of castle and country" that can control even NPCs like Shalltear.
Since the caster was fatally wounded by Shalltear at the last moment, she doesn't get any commands and so she's just standing there. She would however defend herself if attacked.
Spoiler. As a World Class Item it can mindcontroll EVERYTHING. Including players.

6:35 The dub completely screws up this scene. He used his ultimate martial art, but Shalltear is so powerful she couldn't even differentiate it from just a normal swing. The dub has Shalltear acknowledge it as a martial art and Brain says it isn't.
