So now Albedo watches after Renner even more strictly, making Renner harder to plot anything. So Renner now in a position, she did not expected to be. 3. Both Ainz and Renner fear each other: - Ainz fears, that Renner smart enough to figure out, that he is not smart. Because Renner is not binded by game scripting and not blinded by loyalty as other NPC - Renner fears, that Ainz is SO smart, that he sees her through and reads like a book. So if she even so as just thinks about betraying Nazarick - she will be instantly punished (and as we know, death is a mercy in Nazarick). And she has foundation to belive so, because Ainz's decision to play in her spectacle - completely ruined all her plans, and she belives Ainz did it intentional (and we know he just did it for fun)
Not to mention that everyone in nazarick knows her greatest weakness which is climb so in case she does anything climb will get it because nazarick knows that’s her greatest suffering.
and let add as well the renner was giving a the tittle of zone guardian as well, made her in part with lord Kyouhukou in term of how much power she as in nazarick now. To be honest it insane and show how much ainz , demiurge and albedo see that she is very smart and a good add to nazarick
I doubt she plans to betray Nazarick, or will ever cross her mind, since she knows full well there's too much risk of doing so (Albedo and Demiurge are highly intelligent (plus PA if she's aware of his intellect)). Not to mention she already got what she wants (immortal life with climb). However, iirc Renner plans to half ass her intellect. But due to Ainz's "master plan", she now has to prove herself as much as she can since Albedo's always watching her (and Ainz indirectly warning her). She's only there due to her capabilities, thus, there's no telling in what Albedo will do if she ever performed even the slightest bit less than their expectations of her.

Because Albedo and Demiurge are stated as her equals (or rather she is stated as their equal intelligence wise) The fact that they grovel before Ainz reinforces the belief within her that he is some omnipotent being. Because of that, even IF she was 99.999% certain Ainz was an idiot, she couldn't test the theory out, for if she were the .001% chance of being wrong, it would lead to her instant demise. Instead, she is left fully embracing the belief of his ultimate superiority (Which Ainz 'Confirmed' by playing along in that final charade)
The scene of Renner dancing and singing is shocking indeed, even to the novel readers. This scene is actually not in the novel Overlord vol.14, this is a surprise or original scene from Overlord anime director naoyuki itō itself
Yeah, IIRC in the novel it simply states that Renner "Feels" like she could burst out into song and dance because she is so happy. That took that line and turned it into what we saw in the anime, IMO a really good addition.
I think even Maruyama-sensei (Overlord creator) was surprised and was said to have thoroughly enjoyed the scene. And, to be quite honest, in a world where too many stories are changed/co-opted to fit 'modern narratives', this kind of change which actually enhances the original story is whole-heartedly welcome. Great job by the Overlord animation studio and team.
now just in case you missed it, there were three hints to renners "change". 1: she could weild a sword larger then herself with no dificoulty, 2: she could run with said sword without breaking sweat and 3: he Frost Maiden greeted Climb by calling him "the last human in the castle"

the anti-disney princess moment of Renner is just genious . in the LN it was just written she felt happy enough to break out in song ... so when she starts singing and dancing it just fits.. beautiful, crazy and dark .. perfect end for Renner's story
1. The "fight" in the throne room was probably one of the few times that Ains allowed himself to have the time of his life. Keep in mind, his avatar was made specifically to roleplay as a villain and he gets to do exactly that here and against Climb of all people who is basically the series' stand-in for the classic anime protagonist. Ains even makes fun of the "power of friendship" right in front of him. 2. The Ice Maiden saying "Welcome last human in the castle" is basically confirmation that, at that point Renner had alredy become a demon. Specifically an Imp , which is a starting race demons in Yggdrasil get. 3. Renner became a demon through the Seed of the Fallen, the little box Albedo gave her at the beginning of the season, which allows someone to respec their racials class, effectively giving a race change, into that of a demon. The prerequisite however was a low enough karma rating. She achieved this by poisoning the soup she gave to the orphanage. However, I'm not sure if she was alredy a demon when she ran with Climb to the Throne Room or if the murder of her father was the final act needed to let her open the Seed. But, I do know that by the time Climb came back she wasn't human. 4. Ains showing up to be the "final boss" wasn't planned. However it put Renner a really bad position afterwards. See, she had been trying to win Albedo's favor by being loyal and bonding with her over their respective unrequited romances. However, Ains lowering himself to play such a silly role felt like an insult to Albedo. So, whereas before she used to at least somewhat respect Renner, now she *hates her* and is fully intent on watching her like a hawk for the *tiniest* sign of disloyalty. And Renner knows that. 5. The entire final segment with Renner is anime original. Yeah, I think the LN does describe her being giddy and excited about her eternity with Climb, but her dancing and singing is entirely an original addition and, honestly, it works as a perfect way to cap off the season. She betrayed *everything* and *everyone* she knew. Her family, her subjects, her Kingdom and even Climb himself by dooming him to be her unwitting slave. Sure, she was trapped by her circumstances and basically had no freedom due to her role as a princess. But the fact remains that hundreds of thousands died for her fantasy and she considered it a "small price" Its dark, twisted, but fully entertaining when you consider that Renner herself is fully inconsequential in the grand schemes of Nazarick. The Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom is a continent-shaking event for the New World, but for Ains and the gang it was just another weekend.
I'm fairly positive she was a demon from at LEAST the point in which she is shown swinging the sword around. The scene is meant to tip off people to the fact that Renner, a princess who has never swung a sword in her life, is swinging this big ole sword like it's nothing.

Thats Incorrect his avatar was bguilt towards an undead skilled in Death skills, the Guild itself roleplayed as villians, so technically his character wasnt built for villian play but as Undead roleplay
Albedo doesn’t hate Renner. Albedo genuinely likes Renner but she didn’t like that Ainz would reduce himself to such menial pageantry, and she showed up after Climb’s resurrection to remind Renner that she has expectations that must be fulfilled. She even gave Renner her reward (for Climb) ahead of time. Albedo does not give rewards to people she hates.
Fun fact: That ring climb used can raise your level by 5 for a moment, and that also works if you give a level 100 player that, for a few moments he will be at level 105
Yes it was made with wild magic and it was possible a belonging of the Dragon Emperor (Platinum Dragon Lord's Father). He gave it to Rigrit who then Gave it to Gazef who gave to Climb. The only problem is that it raises the Power of a Warrior, so it would be great for Albedo/Cocyutus/Sebas. But not so good for the other guardians. As for Climb he would reach the level of a Mithril adventurer and for Gazef would turn him into a Hero (he was lvl 29 and would reach 34 a very powerful hero able to be on pair with a Death Knight). If it were to give it to Brain he would probably reach an Outlier level (since when he dies he was already stronguer than lvl 30 (31-32 most likely) and able to perform a single attack with lvl 40 of strenght. He would be lvl 36-37 (outlier lvl) and be stronguer than many heroes from Black Scripture or the late 13 heroes
It's a letdown that they cut everything that happened to Phillip when Albedo confronted him in the novel. In the novel she grabs him by the ear and drags him outside to show that she's killed everyone that lived inside his domain and impaled them all with spikes making his domain look like a forest of death. The truest form of nightmare fuel before she brings him to Nazarick so that he would be tortured for the rest of eternity 😂 truly a befitting fate for the man who single handedly doomed an entire nation with his stupidity

Its not a kids show, this is literally the reason why I read Overlord, and why I will likely be disappointed with the start of the Holy Kingdom Movie, as they will likely censor or play down "the ultimate weapon" scene too. The gritty dark stuff is why I love Overlord. Otherwise I would be watching and reading One-Piece.
Well I'm not going to tell you to feel a certain way, but in my opinion Phillips voice actor in Japanese REALLY sold what happened to him even without any words or descriptions. That scream was a work of art.
the only info about are one of its abilities is strong against dragons Ainz/Momonga used this to kill hundreds top level players during the game when they got invaded by a large multiguild coalition (about 1500 invaded and according to the info and most of them died thanks to Ainz's world item) the longer Ainz wears it the stronger it becomes, its theorized that it uses excess Exp as power source thus explaining its growing power, also explains why ainz keep bringing Mare with his 2 world items one to collect excess exp and one can give away
Around half of the 1500 of the Players and NPC raiders died to the orb. The main use of world items is negating the effects of other world items, so Ainz began giving the floor guardians world items like the black orb that Albedo always has to prevent another shalltear mind control. However, the "twenty"one time use world items can bypass other world items.
Reminder that the only confirmed powers it has in the light novel series is that it has multiple powers, is effective against dragons, and grows stronger while equipped
When she said "The king will try something to test his allegiance" what Renner actually means that she will make climb do some nasty stuff so that he'll be able to turn into a demon, just like she did with those Orphans.
The interesting thing about Renner is, that she is as smart as Demiurge and Albedo... which is why Nazarick both want her and fear her (to a certain degree). Originally Renner was going to act a little less competent, barely help Nazarick and simply enjoy her eternity with Climb (which was her only goal), but after Ainz personally acted out the role of the villain she believes he was aware of her plan and deliberatly made her even more indebted to him. So Nazarick now has 3 intelligent monsters who all believe Ainz to be even more intelligent...(edit: 4!! forgot Padoras Actor) ...meanwhile Ainz tries to avoid Renner because he is afraid she'll notice/expose his actual lack of competence. x,D Also I'm sure you already know, but the requirement for changing into a demon was fullfilled by 1: poisoning everyone in the orphanage (the only reason she founded it in the first place) 2: killing her own father. (Not sure what Climb will have to do...) And in regards to future overlord anime-content: If we go by amount of LN volumes, there are likely going to be 1 movie (Holy Kingdom Arc) as well as 1 final season. Though there might be more if the LN-author decides to extend the series beyond the volume he announced to be the final one, or simply wants to go more indepth (though I really can't imagine a whole season just for the next anime-arc). PS: Sorry for any potential mistakes, since english isn't my first language. ^-^"
For demiurge and albedo I wouldn’t put fear. They’re more like think that she is very interesting pawn to be used. For ainz tho he is scared just like how renner is scared of him.
@@onerxowns2202 iirc the author said there would be only two more volumes and that quite a few plotlines that were brought up will remain unresolved in the end bc the real world also doesn't have neat and tidy endings. Also I believe I heard from the japanese audience (so some of it may be mistranslated) that he said in an interview(?) that he was somewhat loosing motivation and wants to finish Overlord so he can start a new project.
8:00 the draconic eyes are a nice touch from Climb using the wild magic ring. On top of using the ring, he used the martial art he learned from Sebas' killing intent, which essentially became an on-demand adrenaline rush
Some LN knowledge : 1. Renner is described as wanting to sing and dance which is why it was interpreted this way. 2. The capital of the Re-Estize kingdom will be purified by fire and then left as is for eons. And Climb might meet Sebas in Nazarick.

She was turned the moment the children of the orphanage ate the poisoned food she made for them. After their death her karma went negative-100 which is essentially the final requirement to become an imp.
I think i read somewhere that IF Nazarick never showed up... Zanac and Renner would have created a Golden age for the Re-Estize Kigndom also Climb would be very surprise meeting SEBAS again and would finally know WHO Sebas was working for
This scenario relies on Raevan, Renner, Zanac, and Gazef being alive and coordinated. Its impossible since the only reason Gazef is alive is because of Ainz
I doubt Renner will ever let that happen. She has no desire to share Climb with anyone. From the look at Renner eye at the end. I wouldn't be surprise if Renner tie him down to the bed for the rest of his immortal life.
so in order to become a demon she poisoned all the children and caretakers at the orphanage (if you remember a few episodes back she brought food for the kids and told the caretakers to have some as well) also the disney princess song was done to convey what was written in her character bio at the end of the novel this episode covers (it's also a great way to show those who have not paid attention or forgotten just how far back she has been working for the tomb)
To complement the comments I saw, the "seed" albedo give Renner is the item to change classes, but it asks for sacrifices to work, as quoted, Renner used the kids for it. If you guys remember when Renner grabs the sword and test it, you guys and climb himself where surprised. Is because Renner has a job called "Genius", she can change her levels of genius to any basic job, including swordman, but only one at time, in the novel explains a little better that this swing was her testing her compatibility with the sword(the scene in the novel is a bit longer in the original and was not just one slash, also she struggles because of the weight).
things you might wanna know: mare tearing up isnt because he is sad massacring the humans but instead he is not sure if his skills can actually kill all of them at once. there might be humans that might be able to survive and it goes against Ains' command to leave no one alive. afterwards he hyped herself with the ninjas support most administrative work in nazarick is worked by Demiurge and albedo. we saw albedo being buried by paperwork and even she thinks its too much for her. thats why with renner's addition to nazarick, it will be a HUGE help taking the load off the two cuz of her intelligence rivaling theirs Seed of the Fallen needed sacrifice to work. Renner used the children of the orphanage including the staff as sacrifice by poisoning the food she prepared for them. Renner checked if transition to demon (imp) worked when she swung the sword with ease. she was also running around the castle while carrying the sword without breaking a sweat. you guys got the part where the ice woman says Climb is the last human in the castle, since Renner already transitioned to demon imp the item Aura is looking for is the same item Ains gave Demiurge during Momon vs Jaldabaoth event. hence why she said "Demiurge will be happy". since the item is part of Ains collection and the item is made by Demiurge's creator Ulbert. if you pay attention to the lyrics when Renner sang, it shows her true thoughts and emotion. "A dream within a dream". her no longer have to put on a fake face and be with Climb throughout eternity without repercussions

Next up is the movie which covers the holy kingdom arc which takes place after the dwarf kingdom, once the movie is out, the series will be completely caught up, with the exception of vol 16 & 17 that came out last year. The author said that vol 18 would be the last one so season 5 won’t be coming any time soon until that has been released.
Fun fact: If I remember correctly, the Ice Maidens took Brain's body to the 5th Floor, Cocytus's domain, where he remains frozen and preserved to this day.
The red orb ISN'T anything related to Ainz being an Undead. It's basically a World Item that he keeps stored there. I'm not sure if you could even physically remove it, since it should be Equipped on him, so in a sense it's a slotted item gear wise
After Climb targeted Ainz's red orb, he then asked rhetorically if Razor Edge can destroy world items. An indication that Ainz's red orb is his world item that he mentioned when he fought the frost dragons.
Every hair stands on end when that monster begins to sing. She spent nearly 3 seasons setting this moment up. She killed her own father and poisoned an entire orphanage just to get her karma score low enough to activate the Seed of the Fallen. Now she serves Albedo directly....it was bad enough when they were in the same room! A Fun Fact: Renner has always had two Job Classes. Genius is the best known one, but the latter was originally 'Princess'. Turns out it was actually 'Actress'. Fucking Renner played her game the whole time. I can appreciate the long buildup for this revelation. It is an amazing bit of storytelling and character development. That said, she scares me. Every denizen of Nazarick is terrifying in their own way, but you can find those character traits that make them a fun character to root for. Not Renner. She truly earned the moniker of Witch of the Fallen Kingdom.
The thing on ainz stomach was not his weaknes but thats his World Item wich is very strong item,but until now even on the light novel the power is still unknown
I binged all of Overlord about a year ago and loved it, definitely one of my favorite anime. I enjoyed rewatching the episodes in these reactions, it reminded me how good the show is and I'm sad for a second time because there are no more episodes. There should be an upcoming movie at some point in the near future but who knows when will get a season 5.
Yeah they are doing the holy kingdom Arc which should have been before this season, and hopefully we get the half elf demi god right after. I just hope that it being a movie they wont have terrible CGI. I Recommend reading the novels, they are worth the read

FULL respect to Climb. He watched Ainz effortlessly kill Gazef, a warrior 10x the fighter Climb is, and he saw that he was in the same room as Renner, and he did. Not. Hesitate. The man just instantly picked up the sword and threw down. What a madlad.
what i'm curious is afaik the seed of fallen requires some kinds of evil deed to be done first before activating it. While renner is by killing the orphan and their guardian, what did climb do to activate the item ??
So that Red Orb in Ainz chest is Actually a WCI (World Class Item) wouldn’t really call that a weak spot per say…. I also forget what that WCI did in particular maybe someone in the comments will know.. Also Renner Requested climb not to be fully healed as to be dependent on her
In the end Ainz is the only person in the world who can grant Renner the ability to live out her deepest fantasies. She wanted Climb to become weak and helpless so he'd become more reliant upon her and thus making him more obedient, we also know that having him be helpless and nursed by her is a fantasy she has. She also needed to do this to convince him of a debt to her by claiming she became a demon for his sake so it'd be easier to convince him to do the same. Now she is together with climb for all eternity since demons don't age.
As far as I understand Renner maneuvered herself into a hard place by asking for Ainz to play his role in such a manner, which forces her to acquiesce to their plans and nullifies her own. The only thing she wanted was for Climb to be solely hers, she cared for nothing else. But it *did* cost her, her freedom what with her neck now being on the chopping block should she try anything *against* Ainz. She managed to make sure both she and Climb have renounced their humanity, effectively removing the "level" limiter of their species and can now go beyond their "programming". So if they slowly start, you know, *climbing* in levels later down the road and start getting more vital to be more useful to Ainz... or to go against him. At least that's how I think it goes. Phillip was the catalyst for it all, he was essentially used/tricked/manipulated by Ainz and Co. to do these raids on their food caravans, to then show to the world *why* exactly it's such a bad, *bad* idea to go against the Sorcerer Kingdom. And, of course, Phillip got his entire land slaughtered by way of impalement and he suffered for an eternity in Nazarick. Shit's fucked. Now to wait for the next season.
In the LN Renner is actually scared of Ains because she couldn't read him when he behaved like a fool on that performance of him so she thinks he really is smarter than her, but we know the truth 😂 and about the red orb, that is a world item that is really strong against Dragon class.

What was the point? Ainz gave Renner everything she ever wanted: She can be herself and be together with Climb for all eternity. In return Renner was Nazarick's eyes and ears and a means to manipulate the actors on the stage of politics, an insurance policy that everything would go as planned. That doesn't mean Ainz trusts her, after all were she to look through his charade she could use her intelligence to turn the tables on him. In that sense turning her into a demon, the sworn enemy of the Slane Theocracy, is an important win for Ainz to keep her in line.
Renner is the most evil character in the show. Ainz would never betray his family like she did. Then you have the way Ainz treats his underlings, wanting them to grow and develop; meanwhile Renner wants to trap and consume hers...

@@saljpal3 eh i don't think we will get another movie other then the one that's already been announced the first part of the elf kingdom arc could be skipped over for the most part as most of the stuff people would really want to see is in the second part that just leaves books 17 and 18 to cover the rest of the season (we know 17 will deal with the slane theocracy 18 i'm not sure what that will entail)

Romance isn't just about flowers and chocolate. Romance is a way of looking at the world. Big ideas, grand narratives, everything a fantasy or idealized form. People aren't individuals, but rather are characters filling roles in a prescribed story.
I suppose you could call it his weakness in a way. If Ainz's world items somehow get destroyed he'll be vulnerable to other world items and wild magic.

I doubt she plans to betray Nazarick, or will ever cross her mind, since she knows full well there's too much risk of doing so (Albedo and Demiurge are highly intelligent (plus PA if she's aware of his intellect)). Not to mention she already got what she wants (immortal life with climb).
However, iirc Renner plans to half ass her intellect. But due to Ainz's "master plan", she now has to prove herself as much as she can since Albedo's always watching her (and Ainz indirectly warning her). She's only there due to her capabilities, thus, there's no telling in what Albedo will do if she ever performed even the slightest bit less than their expectations of her.

Because Albedo and Demiurge are stated as her equals (or rather she is stated as their equal intelligence wise) The fact that they grovel before Ainz reinforces the belief within her that he is some omnipotent being. Because of that, even IF she was 99.999% certain Ainz was an idiot, she couldn't test the theory out, for if she were the .001% chance of being wrong, it would lead to her instant demise. Instead, she is left fully embracing the belief of his ultimate superiority (Which Ainz 'Confirmed' by playing along in that final charade)
The scene of Renner dancing and singing is shocking indeed, even to the novel readers. This scene is actually not in the novel Overlord vol.14, this is a surprise or original scene from Overlord anime director naoyuki itō itself
Yeah, IIRC in the novel it simply states that Renner "Feels" like she could burst out into song and dance because she is so happy. That took that line and turned it into what we saw in the anime, IMO a really good addition.
I think even Maruyama-sensei (Overlord creator) was surprised and was said to have thoroughly enjoyed the scene. And, to be quite honest, in a world where too many stories are changed/co-opted to fit 'modern narratives', this kind of change which actually enhances the original story is whole-heartedly welcome. Great job by the Overlord animation studio and team.

now just in case you missed it, there were three hints to renners "change". 1: she could weild a sword larger then herself with no dificoulty, 2: she could run with said sword without breaking sweat and 3: he Frost Maiden greeted Climb by calling him "the last human in the castle"

the anti-disney princess moment of Renner is just genious . in the LN it was just written she felt happy enough to break out in song ... so when she starts singing and dancing it just fits.. beautiful, crazy and dark .. perfect end for Renner's story
1. The "fight" in the throne room was probably one of the few times that Ains allowed himself to have the time of his life.
Keep in mind, his avatar was made specifically to roleplay as a villain and he gets to do exactly that here and against Climb of all people who is basically the series' stand-in for the classic anime protagonist.
Ains even makes fun of the "power of friendship" right in front of him.
2. The Ice Maiden saying "Welcome last human in the castle" is basically confirmation that, at that point Renner had alredy become a demon. Specifically an Imp , which is a starting race demons in Yggdrasil get.
3. Renner became a demon through the Seed of the Fallen, the little box Albedo gave her at the beginning of the season, which allows someone to respec their racials class, effectively giving a race change, into that of a demon. The prerequisite however was a low enough karma rating.
She achieved this by poisoning the soup she gave to the orphanage.
However, I'm not sure if she was alredy a demon when she ran with Climb to the Throne Room or if the murder of her father was the final act needed to let her open the Seed. But, I do know that by the time Climb came back she wasn't human.
4. Ains showing up to be the "final boss" wasn't planned. However it put Renner a really bad position afterwards.
See, she had been trying to win Albedo's favor by being loyal and bonding with her over their respective unrequited romances.
However, Ains lowering himself to play such a silly role felt like an insult to Albedo. So, whereas before she used to at least somewhat respect Renner, now she *hates her* and is fully intent on watching her like a hawk for the *tiniest* sign of disloyalty. And Renner knows that.
5. The entire final segment with Renner is anime original. Yeah, I think the LN does describe her being giddy and excited about her eternity with Climb, but her dancing and singing is entirely an original addition and, honestly, it works as a perfect way to cap off the season.
She betrayed *everything* and *everyone* she knew. Her family, her subjects, her Kingdom and even Climb himself by dooming him to be her unwitting slave.
Sure, she was trapped by her circumstances and basically had no freedom due to her role as a princess. But the fact remains that hundreds of thousands died for her fantasy and she considered it a "small price"
Its dark, twisted, but fully entertaining when you consider that Renner herself is fully inconsequential in the grand schemes of Nazarick.
The Fall of the Re-Estize Kingdom is a continent-shaking event for the New World, but for Ains and the gang it was just another weekend.
I'm fairly positive she was a demon from at LEAST the point in which she is shown swinging the sword around. The scene is meant to tip off people to the fact that Renner, a princess who has never swung a sword in her life, is swinging this big ole sword like it's nothing.

Albedo doesn’t hate Renner. Albedo genuinely likes Renner but she didn’t like that Ainz would reduce himself to such menial pageantry, and she showed up after Climb’s resurrection to remind Renner that she has expectations that must be fulfilled. She even gave Renner her reward (for Climb) ahead of time. Albedo does not give rewards to people she hates.
Fun fact: That ring climb used can raise your level by 5 for a moment, and that also works if you give a level 100 player that, for a few moments he will be at level 105

Yes it was made with wild magic and it was possible a belonging of the Dragon Emperor (Platinum Dragon Lord's Father). He gave it to Rigrit who then Gave it to Gazef who gave to Climb. The only problem is that it raises the Power of a Warrior, so it would be great for Albedo/Cocyutus/Sebas. But not so good for the other guardians.
As for Climb he would reach the level of a Mithril adventurer and for Gazef would turn him into a Hero (he was lvl 29 and would reach 34 a very powerful hero able to be on pair with a Death Knight).
If it were to give it to Brain he would probably reach an Outlier level (since when he dies he was already stronguer than lvl 30 (31-32 most likely) and able to perform a single attack with lvl 40 of strenght.
He would be lvl 36-37 (outlier lvl) and be stronguer than many heroes from Black Scripture or the late 13 heroes
It's a letdown that they cut everything that happened to Phillip when Albedo confronted him in the novel. In the novel she grabs him by the ear and drags him outside to show that she's killed everyone that lived inside his domain and impaled them all with spikes making his domain look like a forest of death. The truest form of nightmare fuel before she brings him to Nazarick so that he would be tortured for the rest of eternity 😂 truly a befitting fate for the man who single handedly doomed an entire nation with his stupidity

The big red orb inside of Ainz isn't actually a part of his body, its a world item, we don't know much about it though even in the novels.

the longer Ainz wears it the stronger it becomes, its theorized that it uses excess Exp as power source thus explaining its growing power, also explains why ainz keep bringing Mare with his 2 world items one to collect excess exp and one can give away
Around half of the 1500 of the Players and NPC raiders died to the orb.
The main use of world items is negating the effects of other world items, so Ainz began giving the floor guardians world items like the black orb that Albedo always has to prevent another shalltear mind control. However, the "twenty"one time use world items can bypass other world items.
Reminder that the only confirmed powers it has in the light novel series is that it has multiple powers, is effective against dragons, and grows stronger while equipped
When she said "The king will try something to test his allegiance" what Renner actually means that she will make climb do some nasty stuff so that he'll be able to turn into a demon, just like she did with those Orphans.
The interesting thing about Renner is, that she is as smart as Demiurge and Albedo... which is why Nazarick both want her and fear her (to a certain degree).
Originally Renner was going to act a little less competent, barely help Nazarick and simply enjoy her eternity with Climb (which was her only goal), but after Ainz personally acted out the role of the villain she believes he was aware of her plan and deliberatly made her even more indebted to him. So Nazarick now has 3 intelligent monsters who all believe Ainz to be even more intelligent...(edit: 4!! forgot Padoras Actor)
...meanwhile Ainz tries to avoid Renner because he is afraid she'll notice/expose his actual lack of competence. x,D
Also I'm sure you already know, but the requirement for changing into a demon was fullfilled by 1: poisoning everyone in the orphanage (the only reason she founded it in the first place) 2: killing her own father. (Not sure what Climb will have to do...)
And in regards to future overlord anime-content:
If we go by amount of LN volumes, there are likely going to be 1 movie (Holy Kingdom Arc) as well as 1 final season.
Though there might be more if the LN-author decides to extend the series beyond the volume he announced to be the final one, or simply wants to go more indepth (though I really can't imagine a whole season just for the next anime-arc).

8:00 the draconic eyes are a nice touch from Climb using the wild magic ring. On top of using the ring, he used the martial art he learned from Sebas' killing intent, which essentially became an on-demand adrenaline rush

This scenario relies on Raevan, Renner, Zanac, and Gazef being alive and coordinated. Its impossible since the only reason Gazef is alive is because of Ainz
I doubt Renner will ever let that happen. She has no desire to share Climb with anyone. From the look at Renner eye at the end. I wouldn't be surprise if Renner tie him down to the bed for the rest of his immortal life.
so in order to become a demon she poisoned all the children and caretakers at the orphanage (if you remember a few episodes back she brought food for the kids and told the caretakers to have some as well) also the disney princess song was done to convey what was written in her character bio at the end of the novel this episode covers (it's also a great way to show those who have not paid attention or forgotten just how far back she has been working for the tomb)

To complement the comments I saw, the "seed" albedo give Renner is the item to change classes, but it asks for sacrifices to work, as quoted, Renner used the kids for it.
If you guys remember when Renner grabs the sword and test it, you guys and climb himself where surprised. Is because Renner has a job called "Genius", she can change her levels of genius to any basic job, including swordman, but only one at time, in the novel explains a little better that this swing was her testing her compatibility with the sword(the scene in the novel is a bit longer in the original and was not just one slash, also she struggles because of the weight).

mare tearing up isnt because he is sad massacring the humans but instead he is not sure if his skills can actually kill all of them at once. there might be humans that might be able to survive and it goes against Ains' command to leave no one alive. afterwards he hyped herself with the ninjas support
most administrative work in nazarick is worked by Demiurge and albedo. we saw albedo being buried by paperwork and even she thinks its too much for her. thats why with renner's addition to nazarick, it will be a HUGE help taking the load off the two cuz of her intelligence rivaling theirs
Seed of the Fallen needed sacrifice to work. Renner used the children of the orphanage including the staff as sacrifice by poisoning the food she prepared for them. Renner checked if transition to demon (imp) worked when she swung the sword with ease. she was also running around the castle while carrying the sword without breaking a sweat. you guys got the part where the ice woman says Climb is the last human in the castle, since Renner already transitioned to demon imp
the item Aura is looking for is the same item Ains gave Demiurge during Momon vs Jaldabaoth event. hence why she said "Demiurge will be happy". since the item is part of Ains collection and the item is made by Demiurge's creator Ulbert.
if you pay attention to the lyrics when Renner sang, it shows her true thoughts and emotion. "A dream within a dream". her no longer have to put on a fake face and be with Climb throughout eternity without repercussions

Next up is the movie which covers the holy kingdom arc which takes place after the dwarf kingdom, once the movie is out, the series will be completely caught up, with the exception of vol 16 & 17 that came out last year. The author said that vol 18 would be the last one so season 5 won’t be coming any time soon until that has been released.

The red orb ISN'T anything related to Ainz being an Undead. It's basically a World Item that he keeps stored there. I'm not sure if you could even physically remove it, since it should be Equipped on him, so in a sense it's a slotted item gear wise

After Climb targeted Ainz's red orb, he then asked rhetorically if Razor Edge can destroy world items. An indication that Ainz's red orb is his world item that he mentioned when he fought the frost dragons.
Every hair stands on end when that monster begins to sing. She spent nearly 3 seasons setting this moment up. She killed her own father and poisoned an entire orphanage just to get her karma score low enough to activate the Seed of the Fallen. Now she serves Albedo directly....it was bad enough when they were in the same room!
A Fun Fact: Renner has always had two Job Classes. Genius is the best known one, but the latter was originally 'Princess'. Turns out it was actually 'Actress'. Fucking Renner played her game the whole time. I can appreciate the long buildup for this revelation. It is an amazing bit of storytelling and character development. That said, she scares me. Every denizen of Nazarick is terrifying in their own way, but you can find those character traits that make them a fun character to root for. Not Renner. She truly earned the moniker of Witch of the Fallen Kingdom.

I binged all of Overlord about a year ago and loved it, definitely one of my favorite anime. I enjoyed rewatching the episodes in these reactions, it reminded me how good the show is and I'm sad for a second time because there are no more episodes. There should be an upcoming movie at some point in the near future but who knows when will get a season 5.
Yeah they are doing the holy kingdom Arc which should have been before this season, and hopefully we get the half elf demi god right after. I just hope that it being a movie they wont have terrible CGI. I Recommend reading the novels, they are worth the read

In the end Ainz is the only person in the world who can grant Renner the ability to live out her deepest fantasies. She wanted Climb to become weak and helpless so he'd become more reliant upon her and thus making him more obedient, we also know that having him be helpless and nursed by her is a fantasy she has. She also needed to do this to convince him of a debt to her by claiming she became a demon for his sake so it'd be easier to convince him to do the same. Now she is together with climb for all eternity since demons don't age.

As far as I understand Renner maneuvered herself into a hard place by asking for Ainz to play his role in such a manner, which forces her to acquiesce to their plans and nullifies her own. The only thing she wanted was for Climb to be solely hers, she cared for nothing else. But it *did* cost her, her freedom what with her neck now being on the chopping block should she try anything *against* Ainz. She managed to make sure both she and Climb have renounced their humanity, effectively removing the "level" limiter of their species and can now go beyond their "programming". So if they slowly start, you know, *climbing* in levels later down the road and start getting more vital to be more useful to Ainz... or to go against him.
At least that's how I think it goes.
Phillip was the catalyst for it all, he was essentially used/tricked/manipulated by Ainz and Co. to do these raids on their food caravans, to then show to the world *why* exactly it's such a bad, *bad* idea to go against the Sorcerer Kingdom. And, of course, Phillip got his entire land slaughtered by way of impalement and he suffered for an eternity in Nazarick. Shit's fucked.
Now to wait for the next season.

What was the point? Ainz gave Renner everything she ever wanted: She can be herself and be together with Climb for all eternity. In return Renner was Nazarick's eyes and ears and a means to manipulate the actors on the stage of politics, an insurance policy that everything would go as planned. That doesn't mean Ainz trusts her, after all were she to look through his charade she could use her intelligence to turn the tables on him. In that sense turning her into a demon, the sworn enemy of the Slane Theocracy, is an important win for Ainz to keep her in line.
Renner is the most evil character in the show. Ainz would never betray his family like she did. Then you have the way Ainz treats his underlings, wanting them to grow and develop; meanwhile Renner wants to trap and consume hers...

The End begins, cause after tie in the movie, it's the last season after the last 2 volumes get written/published that is
3 i think 2 have covered the elf kingdom and the last one is the theocracy (though that might get changed depending on the authors mood)
I'm guessing two seasons or a season and another movie since there's still at least four volumes to cover.
@@saljpal3 eh i don't think we will get another movie other then the one that's already been announced the first part of the elf kingdom arc could be skipped over for the most part as most of the stuff people would really want to see is in the second part that just leaves books 17 and 18 to cover the rest of the season (we know 17 will deal with the slane theocracy 18 i'm not sure what that will entail)
@@medhurst4 after the 2 volumes about the The Half Elf God Kin were published, Mayuda-sensei said 2 more volumes about the ending of Overlord (whenever that gets published) on the afterword.

My only thing is the movie is supposed to be like 2~ish hours long I think, Other anime movies that have adapted novels half as long as Overlord had to cut so much. So there's bound to be so much cut content in the Holy Kingdom arc.
