Thanks for this. Seems like an honest, science based discussion of the facts, with a broad & pragmatic perspective. Just the thing I'm needing as an engineer trying to figure out what best to eat.

I ate butter, bacon and eggs, salmon, liver and coffe loaded with butter and cream for four months and lost twenty six kg. It's the best diet ever. No sugar though, that would be deadly. There is nothing wrong with saturated fats. Our great grandparents ate them forever and never died from heart attacks.

@@Giselle0519 Statins are just money for the drug companies. Where the hell do you live? In the USA where they want to put it in the bloody water supply? As for the rest of the stuff you're talking about, you have to catch people before they drop dead on the streets before you can treat them with a new heart and then they only attach veins to them much of the time which don't do the job that arteries do. Modern medicine can't keep up with keeping the population healthy in the long run.

Bacon is a processed junk food & is very inflammatory & hence seriously bad for your long term health. Losing weight isn't everything. You could have lost more weight if you cut the coffee out & substituted it with green tea. The organic acids in coffee mess up glucose & insulin levels.

@@songsofthecentury3909 You'sure aren't. That's for sure. I'm still alive and pretty old. There's nothing wrong with me. If you have an argument with anything I had to say, say it. I have agreed with everything these doctors had to say two years ago and I haven't changed my mind. I also haven't gained weight.

I am a Obese Male at 220 Pounds. I started a Low Gi Carb Moderate Fat Diet & I noticed the difference in my Waist Circumference in a matter of few days. I fell more clearer in my thinking as well. Low Gi Foods are marked or labeled on the packet. I would recommend any one with METS - Metabolic Syndrome to go on a Low Gi Diet.

I love seeing the medical community bucking the establishment.... I hate hearing that they knew things decades ago and kept it buried!

I have been a raw food vegan with a high fruit diet for almost 20 years. I am very under wieght. So clearly high fruit consumption doesn't make some people fat. I would love to hear your opinion!

Because it doesn’t. Im southern chinese and i am type 2 diabetic. It is excessive carbs and energy toxicity and chronic high insulin that caused this. But my friends have ate the same sort of food and roughly the same quantities but they have no diabetes. Why?

This is all very well for weight control. But what about cardiovascular health? Isn't saturated fat just plain bad for your arteries? Not to mention the relationship between fat and cancer. More variables to health than just weight.
