Aloha Misty!! Dang!! I feel embrassed that I grew up in Kaneohe and never went to the Heeia Peir to try the food. Now Im gonna go!! That Pastele Stew and Smoked Meat Plate looks really good. Oh missing home right now. Have a great weekend🤙👍
Aloha Sean! No need to be embarrassed. Always so many places to discover on the island. I hope when you go you enjoy the food. I bet you'd make plenty friends there in the eating area with all the uncles. 🤣 Hope you can get back home soon! I hope you, Nhi and baby are doing well. 🤙
Aloha Misty. Just catching up on your videos, makes me miss Hawaii bigtime. Mahalo for always putting out excellent videos and I hope you and Aiden have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I just came across your channel and I enjoyed this video SO much! I subscribed and look forward to following your future content. Thanks for sharing, Aloha and God bless!
The Japanese tourist with their ABC bags. Wow, memories. 😆That pastele stew bowl looks so good! I haven't had pasteles in sooooo long. Damn. And ice cake! Kid kine time! 😁
Aloha KARI! Yes I later found out they were all waiting for a catamaran to go to the sandbar. I miss ice cake and small keed time. Now I have to adult. 😂
: ) WOW ! What a great find and place to have GREAT FOOD! Smoke Plate looked SO GOOD! Thanks MUCH and Yummm! ALL the BEST and ENJOY your weekend ! Cheers : )
A very “interesting” fish tale (I get seasick really easily so I can totally relate!). The smoked meat plate looks yummy, and I also love the raw cabbage underneath. Ice cake - small kid time snack!
For the life of me I can't think of what " Ice Cake " is.... Altho it sounds really familiar. Is it just syrup and water or juice and water ? I can't even think where that was sold or how I know about it. My dad owned a Shave Ice stand - which I worked at from age 11 until I got married and moved to the North Shore at age 30 or 31. So I have had my fill of sweet treats but this " Ice Cake " thing has me racking my old brain and it is not coming up with much :)
@@CindyNewburg it's pretty much just syrup and frozen in a cup. And you'd get a wooden ice cream spoon and keep scraping the top to eat it like shave ice. But took a long time to get it shaved. Eventually it melted and you'd just drink the juice from the cup. 🤣
Aloha Misty: The trip to Heeia was a great one. I miss seeing that are and I hope you had a nice time in the area. That stew looked awesome and must have been delicious - I miss those flavors. Thank you for the beautiful sights, great memories and good food review. Enjoy the beauty of Hawaii and the delicious cuisine. Best wishes and much 🧧! 🤙 to my fellow 🐯 and son! 😀
Aloha Bill! I had a nice day there. The weather was great and little to no wind. It is supposed to be windy and rainy soon. So it was nice to enjoy the clear weather that day along with the food. Aiden says hello. Have a wonderful week and take care!
Hi Misty 👋 We did the Kaneohe Sandbar tour there ! Highly recommend it ! On the tour they provided some snacks and one of them was a Musubi from that shop there. It was good 👍 Cheers Rod and Gemma
Awesome Rod! Isn't it pretty? What a treat that they gave you musubi on the tour. I've been many times there after fishing with my friend on his boat. That is the spot after fishing for lunch and then we'd head back home. I figured out afterwards that the big group of Japanese tourists went on a catamaran that was taking them to the sandbar. Have a wonderful weekend Rod and Gemma!
My Kaneohe father-inlaw wanted to take me to this pier to fish a long, long time ago. He said the stew was very good, too. We never made it. Thanks for the reminder. Next time, for sure.
Aw. Do they still live in Kaneohe? I didn't see beef stew. I don't know if it's not there anymore or if it tastes the same since they are new owners. Hope you get to go one day.
@@FoodFiend My in-laws passed a few years ago. I think that's why I watch so many Hawaiian TH-cam creators. I need advice about where to go and where to eat. Thanks for your videos.
Hi Misty, Haven’t been to the pier since i had my Harley! Miss those days. Pastele stew! Just ordered for da dragon lady for the Pastele shop! And i got the #2. Hope to see you tonight!
Love your upchuck story that attracted the fishes. 😂 The smoked meat looks so ono and the green onions give good flavor! I don’t like Mac salad if it has too much mayo. Good of you to talk about the benjo. 😂 have a good weekend, too.
Lol glad you got a laugh Do. The smoked meat was great. With the leftovers we made smoke meat fried rice. The mac salad was just ok but you know me...I don't like it anyway.
wow looks like a new owner. last time i was there there wasn't much options. i remember the last time i was there i ordered their guava chicken and it was a disappointment and dry. your pastele stew bowl looked awesome!
Aw shucks. That's too bad it was dry. I was expecting guava chicken too. But they didn't have that day. Not sure if it's even on the menu anymore. I was kind of craving it.

I'm sure this might not be politically correct but the best Pastele Stew is gotten at Times Supermarket in Kaneohe on Tuesdays.... No joke.
