The set up on this was very easy as there is no installation disc to mess around with. The software gets downloaded from HP's website which is www.123.hp.com

Set up Instructions:
Step 1: Unbox and plug in printer power cord and power up printer
Step 2: Install Black Ink Cartridge
Step 3: Install Color Ink Cartridge
Step 4: Download printer software from 123.hp.com and follow installation instructions
Step 5: Ready to go (Now Subscribe to my TH-cam Channel please)
Printing Instructions:
Step 1: Fill paper in bottom-most paper tray (Not the top feeder; this is for copying)
Step 2: Click on "File" then "Print"
Copying Instructions:
Step 1: Insert the paper/s you want to copy in top feeder tray (face up)
Step 2: On the Envy Pro Printer, press the paper icon
Step 3: Wait to copy/copies to dispense from printer
Scanning Instructions:
Step 1: Lift up top portion of printer to expose scanning surface
Step 2: Place document you wish to scan face down on glass
Step 3: Close top lid down on document
Step 4: Press the paper icon on Envy Pro Printer (same icon as you press for copying"

The reason I gave 4 stars for tech support (which I don't think this would classify as tech support) is because once you turn the printer on, it does require a little bit of start up time which may bother some who are in a hurry to quickly print something. To offset that though the printer prints very quickly. I would definitely purchase this printer again.

FYI - the scan functions of this printer do not work unless you set up a HP account. Nice touch, HP!

So I've discovered the ON/OFF button is in the back. Which means I have to turn my whole table around. Very inconvenient. I find this is the case with most tech "progress". Things become more, not less difficult.

When I scan a document it goes somewhere, but not to my email. How do I get the scanned copy to my email address?
I typically like to save it somewhere like my desktop or similar and then attach it to a new email from there.
Does this machine give you the option to not go wireless?

Will the blue light always stay on? I'm talking about the blue glow from paper comes out. That will always be on?

Probably. Many of these printers claim to be wireless but I’ve purchased many over years and can’t get very many to work well or even at all unless I’ve got them plugged in. Good comment.
I think wireless refers to not having printer plugged into router. For a Wi-Fi connection. In all cases you would need to have an electric wired connection for electricity to power the printer.

but ... how do you get it to print envelopes? envelopes are in tray but it won't print on them from Word, Mailings, Envelope....
I’m not exactly sure but hopefully someone can comment for solution. I was able to do it from word.

There is a power button on the back of this printer, above where the power cable connects to the printer. Press once, the printer will ring a bell and the lights will shut down.
Hi and thanks for the instructions. like the person below I do not know where the scanned image went, scanning is taking a picture of it and sending it somewhere but you showed it coming out like you just printed it. pressing the same button asp ring but you said scan. the other question is can this printer scan and print a double sided document? I see no features to do that or videos that can explain it. thanks for the help!
Good questions!! Well should ask where you want to save it in the print or print preview menu. Those same menu’s should also allow you to select two sided. See if that works.

Hi Yvonne. The scanning takes place by placing the document face down on the glass. It doesn’t move. The copying takes place on the feeder on the top. The copied document gets fed through the top feeder tray and kicks out on top of the printer under the top feeder tray. Hope this helps.
