I just really like your videos. It was your videos that got me started my painting my own baits and I’m glad I did.
Thank you! Glad your hooked haha
Doesn’t matter what I think looks better, it only matters what the fish like better. As far as the artistic point of view , both look great !!
Spot on haha and thank you!
Tough choice. Both are tremendous, but think I have to go with the transparent one. Yet another marvelous vid.
Thanks David! And I agree on the transparent one 👍
Zach thanks 4 that video they look great, I do like the 1 with no base coat better and I am glad 2 C you posting videos again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Crazy good!!
Yes, even before you put the eyes on, I'm liking the transparent base much better. Of course, the fish might not care either way unless the white is easier to see in stained waters.
Most folks compare a black base to a white base. So glad you kept a transparent base for this experiment.
Yeah I was curious on the color not over black. Transparent one for the win!
Always enjoy your videos. Thx for the info
Thanks Chuck!
They look great, I wonder what it would look like with a base coat of black?
I think the transparent one looks better, I’m going have to get some color shift colors n as always great content please keep them flowing.
Welcome back! So excited
Thank you!
I like both of them but if I absolutely had to decide it would end up being the one without the undercoat. Great video as always.
Same! Thank you 🙏
Let’s go another banger from baker
Thanks Matt!
I like it over the transparent best. I only wish you did one over black to compare them to. Great video as always.
Thank you! I'm going to have to do another video with it over black!
I am new to airbrushing lures. I plan on doing some of these lures. But when I take them to my seniors fishing club, they are going to want to know where I bought them.
Definitely both look great, but the transparent one really shows the color. Always like watching your videos, I have learned alot from them and I appreciate what you do for the lure community. I still am looking for a better way to keep my hook eyelets from being filled with clear coat and having to clean them out, do you have any suggestions on how you do yours? Or is this just the nature of the beast when you dip instead of brush on. Any suggestions would be appreciated, keep the videos coming.
I've been wondering the same thing myself. Best I've come up with is some bailing wire put through the eyelets.
Awesome job what clear did you use and did you have to brush it on because of the spiking tail? Or did you dip it somehow?
I like the one without the white undercoat. Another wicked color you could try is...Pearl Fastback Green.
On it!
I think an extremely thin coat of black candy on the transparent one would have expressed the shift better, but very nice baits, regardless of witch one.
Very nice! I think I like the one without the basecoat a little better. I'm a beginner, but I use the end of a qtip for my dots.
Right on! I'm going to give the qtip a try!
Personally I like the transparent one better. But that would depend on the water Clarity and conditions
Using the flair color over black will give the best effect.
Right on! I’ll give that a try 👍
Yes please do a video of the flair over black 👍🏼
What style bait you thinking?
Nice job! What epoxy do you use
@BakerBuilds I'm from Australia so my choice of baits would be nothing like yours. Do something with some good surface area so you can capture the full affect. I've had my eye on this paint this paint for a while but it's almost $70 for 60ml over here, really wanna see the affect before buying it 😊
Color shift is reported to be most effective over black... So, can you do another one over black? I personally have noticed that when you spay metallic and color shift over brighter colors you can mute the colors while getting a dramatic change in the colors that shift.
Right on! Here is my video with it over black! th-cam.com/video/Rl6bltOk6Xk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=AToBA8pdpiureC7S
I do my Shad dots with and without a stencil just depends on my mood. I’m thinking I prefer the transparent one more. Great video as usual
Same, I think no stencil looks a little more natural but the stencil is always so clean!
Yep I agree completely.
I was under the impression that the colour-shift paints are supposed to be painted over a black undercoat! I prefer your way, it looks more natural. Does the colour-shift that you used glows under an ultraviolet light? Another great video thank you.
They say for best results to spray over a dark color. I was super curious what it looked like over white and transparent. I’ll have to check on the glowing 👍
Thank you!
Not sure if it is just the video, but it appears that the spectrum color lost its color shifting properties after the clear coat went on?
I used a color called Holographic from Vallejo which is very similar to the Createx spectrum and it looks awewome on the bait and very shad/ baitfish like. But as soon as the clear coat is on it loses it shifting properties and is pretty much a solid silvery color.
I thought you shoot color shift over black but yours looked nice
Says to shoot over black for best results. I was curious what it looked like this way. Going to do another one over black tho so we can see the difference.
What size nozzle do you use with Wicked Flair and Wicked Metallic colors? I tried yesterday with my Iwata with a .35 and tried thinning it quite a bit but it still COMPLETELY clogged it.
Would rather free hand it myself. But everyone wants something different.
I use a Q tip dipped in paint to make shad dots
I’ll give that a try on the next one!
Yoooo long time no see!
Yo!! Finally back in the shop, feels good to get some work done haha
😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Try using a q-tip for shad dots works great for me and super clean and easy
Do you use the soft part or do you cut the Cotton off and use the stick portion?
@@BakerBuildssoft part and if you get the cleaning tips with long stem usually cheap
@@BOSN_BAITS right on, I’ll give it a try !
@@BakerBuilds yeah you should plus it saves on paint clean out on the brush
Hope it works for you like it does for me and thank you so much for what you do
A Q-tip soaks up a lot of paint and is not feasible as compared to airbrushing.
try a black base coat, it will really pop
Did on my most recent video, definitely a killer color!
Looks amazing. Whats the clear coat that was sprayed?
Thank you! I have been trying out a two part table top epoxy by Promise Epoxy. Looks great but I haven’t been able to test the long term durability yet 👍
What type of card stock are you using?
What psi do you spray with do you dilute your paint what size needle on the gun do you use
Those look great. Prefer without the white.
Thanks! Transparent one definitely sparkles more
Where can I buy the lil stands with the clips you have them in.. when airbrushing
They are called helping hands. Barlow’s has them and also other stores like harbor freight or Amazon 👍
what size needle and psi are you using?
Very nice! What clear coat did you use?
Thanks Ryan! I have been trying out a two part table top epoxy by Promise Epoxy. Looks great but I haven’t been able to test the long term durability yet 👍
Over the white base looked best of these two. As said above the flair or any color change paint and hi lite paints all look better plus pop more over a gloss black base.
Thats a pricey paint though so dont think ill be using any lol 28$ a 2oz is a little crazy imo.
Barlow’s has it for $11.99, link in the description 👍. Definitely going to try it over some black !
@@BakerBuilds11.99$ is still pricey especially compared to other 2oz paints from createx and you can get flair/color change paints half that price lol. That paint alone makes the price of the lure double 😂.
I like the clear one better
Me too! Sparkles a little better
What would happen if you have a black base coat?
I’ll have a video on that out this week!
At $29 for a 2 oz bottle, NO THANK YOU!
Not sure where everyone sees it for that price? It’s only $11.99 at Barlow’s Tackle. I wouldn’t have bought it either if it was $30 haha
@@BakerBuilds Spraygunner!
@@markoharoldoronearmedpoohb7816 Right on, yeah I would say they are a little overpriced or something is missed labeled 🤷♂️
@@BakerBuilds it’s that way all over the online stores!
👍
They look great, I wonder what it would look like with a base coat of black?
