GREATjob... learned a lot! One suggestion that i found with foiling... after putting down the foil and buffinf it with the solution (solution buffing was new to me) a layer of clearcoat epoxy wil take out most of the foil ridges and your paint work will level up!i even sometimes will do one layer of epoxy over foil... let dry... fine sand w 200-500 paint the belly and top in the basecoats... another layer of epoxy then paint... with your artistic talents it will be unbelievable! Great video!
Lookin great That netting material is tulle for anyone looking for it in a fabric store. TOM have u used FLITZ metal polish instead of buffing compound, i find it gives a very good shine, try it.
Love the personal artistic approach 👍. Being a sculptor and general artist myself, I love designing, sculpting, casting and painting personal lures for picky Irish fish. Sub deserved.
I wouldn't have thought to do all that hand painting. Since you used all tones, it would also make great underlay shading for lightly airbrushed transparent paints, inks, or candy colors.
Thanks Trey, really appreciate the effort you've gone to here to help out others. Really like the gill plate work, I've been drawing gill plates the last few days, really trying to improve the look of mine, will be keen to give this a go on a few lures for sure. Also, have you tried making eyes using hole punches and layering electrical tape and other shiny tape, sat on a nail head and topped with epoxy? Can get some pretty cool effects and it's easy to batch them out in bulk.
Nice bait. Does the shiny part of the reflective tape stay shiny after clear coat? I’m trying to chrome some older lures and every paint I’ve used dulls when clear coat is applied. Thx
From my experience nothing is going to beat foil tape if you want to have a reflective finish. I think the engineered angler did a video testing different reflective paints and had the same issue after applying clear coat.
Damn I'm gonna have to try this pattern when I get my airbrush set up back up and running. Definitely subbed plan on learning alot from you thanks! Where do you get your blanks from?
@TreysArt theres some decent models out there already from cults. I plan on cutting a couple ones I have in half and trying to copy them, but then pouring some silicone mold for the custom weights needed for balance
I know the struggle. I have a specific paint brush, spray bottle and water bucket I use to wash out each color. I’ve gotten decently quick at it but it’s still a pain.

Thanks for the sub!!!
Nice job Trey!

That’s a good point about adding color over the top.
Que belo trabalho 😮😮

Yes I was actually planning on making a quick video on making eyes similar to that
Just found your channel and subscribed awesome looking lure.
Thank you 🙏
Sweet!
My compliment Trey ❤
Thank you
Type of lure i wouldnt throw easly.. Love it 12:33
It hurts to lose them sometime lol
Have you ever tried using tattoo colours? I have several expired and I would like to try using them on a bait

Does any buffing compound work? I have some mother's mag and aluminum paste compound.

I build them myself.
@@TreysArt oh damn thats awesome. I've tried to resin print some out of ABS but can never get the wireforms to work right
I’ve wanted to get into resin printing to make master molds from but I don’t know the first thing about modeling.
@TreysArt theres some decent models out there already from cults. I plan on cutting a couple ones I have in half and trying to copy them, but then pouring some silicone mold for the custom weights needed for balance
Yeah that’s the way to go with it I feel. That way you can add in your wiring and weight
How do you switch your paints? It takes me like 5-10 mins to clean out all the paint.
I know the struggle. I have a specific paint brush, spray bottle and water bucket I use to wash out each color. I’ve gotten decently quick at it but it’s still a pain.
Isca ficou show de mais
Love your work! What resin do you use?
Alumilite
What brand did you use at the end to seal it?
Nvm just checked the description! Awesome work
Sweet. Gonna snatch a lil fabric off the back of the ole ladies wedding dress- she'll never notice right?!😅
It’s for lure making. She should understand!
👍👍👍👍👍
