Andhra Pradesh govt just purchased Chinese made electric buses which costs $2.80 crores with custom duties each. This costs only $2.2 crores.
Until we have crooked politicians and bureaucrats who put short term personal wealth before nation we will be under developed.
Its not because we are our companies are not good enough they just get zero help..

Good to see Tata Motors taking the lead in India for renewable energy in buses as well as small cars (still waiting for Indica Vista Electric) even though the Mahindra made a very early entry with the E2o, which evolved from Reva (born in 1994!!). So we really should be proud of these achievements. Now the government has to do its part by providing the infrastructure and promoting them.

What are the seating capacity for the biggest and smallest TATA hybrid buses and what are there prize rage? I like the fact they are right hand drive and it exactly what I am looking for to try start a company.

Fuel cells are so late 90's and early 2000's. Hydrogen is not an energy source but an energy carrier. Will need to get H2 from fossil fuels or sea water. Either way it will take energy to get energy. Better to make electricity from solar or wind and use it to power pure electric vehicles.

Turn off the music n let us hear how it feels inside. Not just air but its noise pollution free as well. In a country like ours where this matters. Wonder how it would be, to live in a place where there is just no noise pollution.

this is not electric is run hydrogen fuel wrong title
Fuel cell technology is much more environment friendly and economically feasible in the long run. Li Ion batteries are very toxic in production and when its out of service.
Besides that you dont have to stop and charge. Pretty soon we will have fuel cells that can power buses for weeks. Fuel cell is the future of vehicles.
Hydrogen based fuel cells need to be replaced with other safer gases when that happens it will shift
There is a big lithium mafia going around against fuel cell technology with India have zero lithium deposits unlike China we have to look for alternate technologies.
silentThunder LoL... Batteries are way better.... Fuel cells can't produce much power... For a city bus.... Plus hydrogen is expensive to produce, stored and transport....
Does not look like it is wheelchair accessible. Not inclusive at all. The isle space is too narrow and they did not show if there is a ramp or hydraulic lift. Low floors alone is not good enough.
