I just found your channel. It was a very informative video. You have done a great job getting your Wrangler setup. I found a couple of new tips that I will try out on my Wrangler. I won't be doing a seat delete though. There are too many times that my wife and I go places with another couple so I need seating for 4. I don't want a roof top tent. I have a roof rack that I haul a tent and all my sleeping gear and clothes on inside a Roof Bag. I use the tent when camping/hunting for an extended period of time, like up to 2 weeks, in one spot. I have slept in the Jeep both alone and with my wife on overnighters. That negates adding the sliding drawer system but I really like the idea and convenience of it. I don't have a refrigerator. I do have a couple of coolers that I take with me on the longer camping trips. I use several 1 gallon milk jugs filled with water and frozen for my cooling source plus it give me extra drinking water when they thaw. My 2 burner Coleman stove fits nicely on my rear door table for cooking on my overnight trips. I bring 2 one pound Fuel Keg propane bottles on longer trips. They are refillable from my 20 pound propane bottle from my patio heater at home. It is way cheaper than buying throw away propane bottles. You didn't mention a toilet. I have been using a 5 gallon bucket with a bag and toilet seat on it but it takes up a lot of room. I just bought a Rhino USA collapsible XL toilet. That should save a ton of space. I also use a 7 gallon Reliance Aqua-Tainer water jug for my long trips otherwise I just bring along a gallon or two of water. It is amazing what we can cram in a Wrangler. I subscribed. I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
I have not bought any of the materials or the trail kitchen as of yet.... I am currently restoring/ modifying a 1/4 ton military trailer to pull behind my Jeep. I am installing a tonneau cover, from a pickup truck, on the trailer for keeping cargo dry and secure.
Enjoyed the video. Nice to see how other folks have done their rigs. I have a totally off topic question - how did you get the patches to stick to your roof liner? I'm thinking velcro with one side sticky to attach to the patch. But I'd like to know how other folks have already done it. Thanks.
Temperature control or the bed. I love my ecoflow wave 2 but it does need extra power to last but i do enjoy my camp cot with 0 degrees bag or a memory foam air mattress with 0 degree bag.
Great Jeep tour, very utilitarian. I def need to learn to edit what I bring. lol. I feel like I bring way too much in my rig. I love the headliner ideas and the MorRyde kitchen slide as my friend tried to “slide my fridge” out but I don’t’ have the fridge on a slide! lol. My favorite thing I bring is the Devos Light Ranger really makes a difference lighting up my campsite and I currently use the orange shade which helps block out bugs. It really works.
Thanks for the tour Matt. My favorite addition to my bus has been the solar (which I had dragged my feet on for 2 years). I haven't needed to use the dc-dc charger since I installed 200w of solar this past Spring. 200ah and 200w seem to be enough for us for our weekend trips. I wish I did it sooner. What are you using for heat?
Thanks for watching! Those solar panels make a huge difference, right? I've been really enjoying mine too. I've primarily been using my -20 sleeping bag in colder months and sometimes I'll strike on the Buddy heater to get out of said sleeping bag lol. Planning to do even colder camping this winter, so I'll be exploring some other options for sure.
@@mattzefi I have a chinese diesel heater and really like it. My only complaint is the ticking noise from the pump which I have mounted under the bus right under my sleeping area. Even in a plastic case stuffed with rockwool I can still hear it. If I were to do it again I would probably purchase a portable set up and just pipe the heat inside the bus like a lot of overlanders w rooftop tents do. That way it would free up some floorspace and I could set the unit down at the other end of the bus.
@@buscampers wow, cant believe it’s that persistent even through the case and rockwool. Let me know if you end up getting a portable one in the future. Definitely considering going the diesel heater route, although I’m constantly hearing mixed reviews lol
Love your build Matt and I am currently doing something similar in my Rubicon. Do you happen to know what size blackout shade that you used for your build? I never thought of that but it is a fantastic idea!

Really awesome. Have a great day.
Thanks you too 🤙
What an amazing tour, Matt! Thank you for walking us through this!
Aye thanks for watching brotha. You let me know when your build is ready to rock
Can't wait for the video of your platform install. I am also going to purchase the moryde kitchen system.
It's coming, one last change on it platform haha! And sweet let me know what you think of the trail kitchen. I've been loving it.
Much delayed but just uploaded it! Let me know what you think
Thank you for the update! I am just doing the rear most section of the platform, As I have grandkids that like to ride along too.

Thanks for watching! Yeah that’s exactly how I did it. Velcro on the patch only.
What's your must-have piece of camping or overlanding gear?
My Warn 10000 pound winch.... I have not used it to recover myself.... I have recovered others less fortunate.

Thanks! Yes everything has a purpose haha. The slider is my favorite! I have to check out that Devos light ranger, sounds really useful
Awesome, I got a similar rooftop-tent (mine is from Wildland, the Bush Cruiser)!!
That’s sweet! Yeah they’re all suspiciously similar haha. Ill have to look into yours. Thanks for watching!

What’s the lights you have for video / over landing. I don’t see it listed
Just added it to the "extras" section!

Thank you! I want to say I got 52" W x 72" H. Just added it to the description though of the exact one. Good luck with your Rubicon build!
