A Surprise Appearance At An S2000 Car Meet In Mie Japan!...

  • The day after Wekfest Japan, we jumped out of bed and into our friend Eishi Suzuki's Voltex S2000 to attend an all-S2K meet at a parking area in Mie. This was a special occasion because Eishi passed away a couple of years ago and he was once the organizer of this particular meet. His close friend still hosts the meet every year in his honor and Yasu thought it would be a great surprise if we brought his car out for it! I don't think anyone expected it to be there but everyone was stoked when we pulled-up. The car hasn't been brought out in public since his passing so it was important that the car be there for the gathering he once hosted...

    I wish we could gather like this, every meet I seem to see is full of talking crap, keeping to their own, or side shows. This is real culture, at its finest and why I became an enthusiast.
    Edit: Team Temple racing takes me back to one of the first TH-cam videos I remember seeing, Donald Duck racing, team warp, and temple playing on the c1.

    You can REALLY feel the whole homage vibe just in this video. So nice they STILL do this meet. The takeaway from this video, IS that it’s more than just cars or a car. It is what is at the epicenter that brings people together .

    One thing freaking me out about Japan atm is the whole masking thing. It's weird as hell. People wearing cloth masks outside under their nose triggers me so much. I have never been pro masking, but this shit is just absurd.
    You don't need masks outside, especially not in warm weather. Cloth masks don't do jack and you can litterally just not wear a mask at all, if you'll have it slip under your nose all the time.
    What kind of cuckening is this?!

    • @THECHRONICLES
      @THECHRONICLES  2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Mask culture in Japan has long existed before the world decided it was a necessity. Most also see the pointlessness of it while many also conform very much to societal ways. Some choose to mask because they want to. I don’t think it’s a matter of advocating their effectiveness nor are people interested in the discussion of it. Some follow rules, some don’t, but in general, Japan is a very polite society so they try to abide by the rules as much as possible. Currently they require masks to go inside restaurants and places of business. When they are outside, some will pull them down. Also consider that their government has provided them with information that may be different than your own. I’ve been here a whole week and people still wear masks because it is essentially common courtesy to do so. They are very much invested in the idea of common courtesy and fitting in with the rest of the population. So why freak out about it or call it absurd? Chalk it up as cultural differences and enjoy the car content.

      calm down chief, it's more about respect for others than anything else, something that is severely lacking i the USA right now. MANY countries wear masks not just when there is a global pandemic killing millions some wear them when they are just sick as to not spread it
