Des - you handled the Camille situation with grace. You are so good at setting boundaries, which is evident by blocking her on social in the moment to stop the noise.

Des has such a classy attitude towards a very petty situation that affected her personally. Love both of your freshy fresh take.

I liked your insights on the Camille Herron issue. I , too, feel a sadness and hope she can rebound.

Same, really sad she's come to this place. I do hope help comes to her.

PRP is where your blood is removed, centrifuged (spun) to separate it into its components, and the platelets and plasma are removed. Platelets are the blood cells that form clots and help heal injuries; plasma is the liquid part with all the vitamins and proteins, including growth factors that help trigger cellular regeneration. The rest of your blood (red blood cells and white blood cells) is put back in. Then, the platelets/plasma combo (hence, platelet rich plasma- what PRP stands for) gets injected into the injured site. Your body recognizes that you have a ton of platelets and growth factors and accelerates healing that area. It's definitely different from doping, because all you are doing is just moving your existing blood volume around and essentially sending all the healers to your injury. PRP is really cool because it's like you are just manually helping your body move your blood around to help yourself heal. I hope this is helpful!

As an Oklahoman this whole situation hurt my heart. I absolutely respect everything you 3 women have brought to the table in running and think there is enough room at the top to welcome those who continue to elevate the sport. I appreciate how you both spoke of the situation. Hopefully C can get back to her roots of love of the sport and Des I think you have handled the situation with more grace than most would.

I listened today, but commenting is more complicated on audio…Des, i LOVED your parting comments about the art of conversation without the need to convince those you’re having a “conversation” means everyone agrees on all counts. Opinions can differ and that’s fine. I’m not sure where having varied views and opinions became outlawed, but it’s quite polarizing for no apparent reason that makes sense. I love that you two have both compassion and perspective on the difficult subjects. 💜

I’m a small percentage Croatian and it’s the part of my heritage I honestly know the least about. I’m so happy you have your aunt to connect you to your heritage and that the Croatian American sports community is so happy to celebrate you.

I'm glad you aren't hurt by her words and actions. Many of us are. We want our pros to be role models and examples we can follow. Camille's hostility isn't it.

an interesting pod topic in itself. Do pro athletes have to be role models and examples we can follow? The old Charles Barkley debate! I mean, I know what I believe, but I do think it's fair to ask if that's a reasonable request/requirement of pro athletes.

I had PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for tears in my shoulder. It was a great option to avoid surgery and four weeks later was able to finally lift my arm over my head. That NEEDLE was soooo big.

I enjoy these chats! But as a Cardinals fan, I have little good to say about baseball this season…😢 Except that ours can’t get any worse! 😅

I’m not sure why people were upset about the last episode???BUT- as a retired teacher, I do see that people have trouble navigating differences…. and I would say now a days ( compared to my day,)- I see that people are far more free to say stuff bc yes it’s behind the phone or computer. Everyone wants their opinion heard I suppose!

Omg. I’m having the same issue (for the last month+) left Achilles and right hip discomfort. Please tell me how to fix it.

    • @Angie_runs
      @Angie_runs 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

It could be a few things. Immediately check your shoes maybe they're irritating your Achilles and it's making you compensate and that's what's bringing discomfort to your hip??
Strength training your hips and Achilles.
      And obviously, rest...??

I am glad you raised the issue of how people disagree... You can completely disagree with someone without them being a moron/idiot/loser all preceded by the F word. Stick to the facts and make your case without denigrading the other people

Kara, just listening to your podcast, as I’m writing this. You’re talking about the Wikipedia scandal. I would just like to point out that Wikipedia itself is actually a pretty darn good source. This is the reason they caught her because there is like 20,000 people that go in looking for BS and they edit it. as far as sourcing useful information, it’s pretty good, especially because they site their sources down at the bottom of each page. Yes, you can get some crap on there for a short time or if the page is essentially meaningless, but anything important gets checked fairly quickly. Great podcast, I hope to see you more on the NBC broadcast or other broadcast coming up. You do a great job!
    I love this podcast!

Those 20000 people are random volunteers who focus on hot topics. Theres tons of pages on topics that are not “hot” where absolute lies and opinions are in the article
