This is THE most helpful video I've seen on cleaning my new machine. The user guide was terrible - I need diagrams WITH words. I descaled successfully but could not figure out for the life of me why I couldn't get the filter/infuser out of the machine. Duh ... the machine needs to be powered off. I was getting very upset with myself. Other videos I saw weren't helpful at all and then I saw yours. So short, clear, and to the point. Thank you again!
This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact th-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
Just a tip for anyone else wanting to clean the filter, you must turn off the machine via the power button so the filter is realigned diagonally. If it's vertical, it means you probably switched it off at the wall first and you will be unable to take out of the filter. To fix that, just connect all the pieces back into the machine (including water tank) and turn on/off the machine again so it realigns the filter for removal.
Thank you so much for all your videos regarding this coffee machine. I have bought it and absolutely love it. I return to your videos over and over to help guide me. Please keep creating these videos to help us all.
Thanks for excellent video. As engineering background, To prevent frequent descaling cycle process & save ur time and money, just re-set the hardness level of the machine from No.4 (near salinity water as default by vendor) to level No. 1 (for mineral water) or to No. 2 ( for tap water).👍
Thank you. I always refer to your video on descaling when I do it. It has really helped. I use a citric acid solution rather than the descaling solution.
Thank you for explaining about detaching the part that is easily missed! Didn't know you can detach that bit!! Solved my problem of the milk not frothing. I stuck a cocktail stick in the connector valve!

Gabe, mate, youre a legend. Never neven knew you could pull the kqchine apart to that degree. Followed your advice and gave it a peroper clean. Coffee tastes like it did when it was new! Go figure! 😅😂
Thank you so much! i was missing that one step with the frother with the part you removed pressing the button. This was causing my frother to not function properly and i had to order a spare one which ended up with the same issue. I watched your video last night and after that the cappuccino i made was so foamy.
Gabe, Thanks for the great vids, we have one and had no idea about settings, Most videos about this model were ### especially the actual Delonghi vids, maybe they should hire you... we set up our machine in no time thanks to your help..
Great video, Gabe! I got a quick question. I ran into a problem because I use pre-ground coffee. Do you know how if I have cleansed all the necessary parts so that it could work again? Also, does the machine really not work with a pre-ground coffee? Appreciate if you can answer!
This is a great video, thank you. 1. How often do you need to descale this machine? 2. And do we not need to clean the grinder? I am thinking on getting this one for my home, never had anything but a keurig machine yet.
Quick question. Does step 1 take up to 45 min or all 3 steps in total take 45 min? My machine seems to be stuck at step 1 (maybe?). It spit some water out and stopped doing anything 🤷🏻♂️ I can’t seem to activate step 2. Any suggestions?
Cheers for this. Very helpful. My drip tray is filling up every few days, and the coffee spouts flush water on every turn on and turn off, I think this is self cleaning, is this normal?
Great video, only thing I'm struggling with is the coffee grinder. When you first open it up, it looks like mine standing straight, but then it it's tilted to the left and can be easily removed. How do you get it to tilt to the left? Mines not doing that and I can't get it out 😭
Thank you for your good informations. But I have zwo questions: 1. Can I read how many Cups of Coffee the machine was in process and can I make 2 Cups of coffee the Same time? Thank you for answer
@@christinerackerseder can you please clarify question #1? And yes, you can make 2 cups of coffee at the same time, but that would only be the milk-less options though
My question means, I want to know how many cups of coffee I made last month from my machine. And the second I press the button "2" next to the on/off-button and have only the choice for 2 espresso. I can't choose 2 coffee.
Hey Gabe, I accidentally put instant coffee in the main compartment on the top of the machine. How would you recommend me get it out? I vacuumed majority but stilll excess….
Oh no. I think that should be fine because instant coffee is dry. So I think the next cup or few cups you make will just taste weird. If you’re asking “will it make coffee even without the water filter?” Then no, you don’t have to have it. But I strongly recommend having it on. Hope this helps

It is said to have a steel grinder and make better foam compared to Philips devices. It also seems easier to clean. No need to oil. However, it is a bit expensive for me. Maybe I can buy it if there are New Year's discounts.
I think so. The reason for descaling is only to remove mineral buildup in the ‘pipes’ of your machine. As to your second question, do mean “can you use the descaler fluid in other machines?” If so, I’m not sure. The manual says you should only use the descaler provided by delonghi. Hope this helps.
This is an amazing video. I just bought this machine and after 3 days I cleaned the milk bottle and I have noticed the nozzle began to extract a lot of hot air and a little milk. Like there is an air leak from the machine to the bottle before it goes to the nozzle.
Thanks, Gareeb. Hmmm? Have you tried pressing on the milk bottle to the slot and then using it? This sometimes works for me because it’s simply a matter of making a better seal between the bottle and the slot. Otherwise, you may have to call customer service

Let's say I use really hard tap water with a lot of limescale. How much of residue this water filter is able to remove? What is composition of this filter? Does it remove only limescale or other contaminants too?

Hello! My De'Longhi Magnifica Evo ECAM 290.61.B got stuck between step 2 and 3. from the place through which the boiled water flows, a click was heard for an hour as if it was trying to get the water out but something wouldn't let it. the descale button was flashing but still in stage 2. I pressed it and the story of the water not flowing started again. now fleshing hot water buttons, triangle and water holder (although all the accessories are correctly inserted). What can I do?
Hi! Sorry to hear about your experience. I’m sorry but I don’t have experience troubleshooting this kind of problem. You might have to call customer service for it. The only thing I can think of is maybe restore it to factory settings? Hope this helps. Let me know what happens!
Hmmm? I’m not sure. Does it look and sound like steam is going everywhere? If so, you need to make sure you reassemble every piece correctly and snugly. If this doesn’t work, you need to call customer service
Does anyone know if temperature of dispensed coffee can be raised, I know there are 3 heat settings and I know Mnfr. advises performing hot rinse before selecting coffee, but this does not produce a hot temperature, I need to raise 5-10 degrees. This is my 3rd coffee machine, this is so disappointing. Any advice or assistance greatly appreciated.

You are the best Delonghi mashine reviewer bro
My mashine with out milk container could you advise some about
Appreciate the, love! Sounds like a good idea. I’ll think about that.
Thanks for the video. Is there a way to adjust the amount of milk foam?
I don’t think so, Umut. That would be a good function though
Is it necessary to do another cleaning process despite the descaling? Can you use those cleaning tabs as it can be used for other Coffee machines?
I think so. The reason for descaling is only to remove mineral buildup in the ‘pipes’ of your machine. As to your second question, do mean “can you use the descaler fluid in other machines?” If so, I’m not sure. The manual says you should only use the descaler provided by delonghi. Hope this helps.
Did you not change the filter? I assumed it needed to be when descaling.
Nope. It doesn’t. You’re supposed to change the water filter every 2 months
Thanks for awesome videos man!
I just bought this one and can't wait to make a first coffee!
How often do you do each of these cleanings?
My pleasure! At least monthly for the coffee filter. At least weekly for the milk bottle.
Hey, quick question, have you ever had the machine not pour coffee? I've adjusted the grinds and cleaned it out and nothing is working. Thoughts?
Actually, I have. What I did was do a factory reset and it did the trick
Do you empty your water tank overnight (when you’re done making coffee) or do you just keep water in all the time?
I keep water all the time
Hi, no mention of how often to clean the coffee filter?
Oh. It actually depends on your usage. But twice a month has been enough for me

Well done
Oh! Thanks for the appreciation!
Which better, Delonghi magnifica Evo or Philips 5400?
I dunno, mate. I only have the Magnifica Evo. 😅
Thanks for the video. Great info. How often do you have to descale? Once a month?
Hello If I have cleaned the jug and it still does not foam properly, what should I do?
Heat-up your cup before making a drink. That’s the only thing I can think of.
Have you tried using a white vinegar solution ?
Not with this machine, no. I’ve done that before though with an old machine.
@@gabeslifestuff thanks for replying Gabe. U think a 1:1 solution would be ok instead of rebuying those packs?
