You can game on a piece of paper and pen, as long as you accept the limitations, only tic-tac-toe and only multiplayer enabled, no bots or solo campaign.
reminds me of when I got something similar working with an i5-2400 worth ~$7 off eBay that I slapped into an old Lenovo prebuilt that was picked off the street a while ago, these days it's mostly used just as a home theater PC that my dad uses for playing movies off the TV but when I had yet to build my sister her own setup, putting in an old GPU together with that CPU was enough for her to play games on the thing. always good to see older parts have some new life brought into them 💪
For reference the 1060 6gb is a old card, Compared to the 745 it's 469% faster and I use it as my daily driver it's cheap and still pretty powerful. I plan on upgrading to the 4070 mini next I cannot wait 👍
It's great to see that you reviewed the CPU of my old computer, it worked well for most tasks except demanding titles like Fortnite, especially with an entry-level graphics card from 2011, but it still performed decently. Your channel is great and it helped me understand more about old pc parts and their viability in 2024, I hope you'll succeed because your content is great even if it doesn't have high-end pc parts. Edit:Since you're reviewing low-end hardware, you could also try Linux distros like Xubuntu or Mint since they're not demanding and work well for most games and could even perform better than Windows 10 or 11 in certain cases.
I have been wanting to learn more about linux, it’s definitely something that interests me, and I have some old laptops that would be saved because of linux. But thank you, i appreciate your feedback!
I don't think people understand just how viable ultra budget PC building actually is nowadays. Back in the early 2000's, people would have settled with 20-40fps on their expensive yet slow XP systems. Now, we can toss parts together from the dump and/or ebay and spend as little as $15 for the same experience in more recent games. I made an SFF build with an Asrock H87 board, i7-4770k, and 16gb of ram from the DUMP. I threw it in a $15 Temu case, used a Corsair 650X PSU I also found at the dumo, and tossed in an RX560D that I fetched on eBay for $35. Effectively a $45 build that can play nearly every game at an acceptable framerate. Given it is a very lucky set of finds, all it takes is a couple days or weeks of persistently checking your local dumps. You don't even need to find a 4th gen i7, you could end up finding an old Dell or Lenovo office PC or Laptop and putting a GPU or eGPU on them. That's a discussion on its own as well since I also happen to have a Dell Latitude E6530 I found and put an eGPU on 😂 Maybe I should be making videos on this stuff.
videos about builds with a dumpster diving/scrap parts/etc. focus or whatever sounds interesting, shit if anything I think plenty of people would be interested in something like that 👍
my first pc in high school was i5-3570, 12GB DDR3, and a AMD HD 7770. good times. could run pretty much anything that came out before 2014, and even a few more modern games.
many people don’t realize that modern game consoles still have certain titles running at 720p 30fps. and yes, I consider the ps4 and xbox one still modern consoles. and so people just disregard older hardware, it’s a shame!
@@gabecapps facts bro. still running i7 4790k, 16GB DDR3 and RX 580 4GB in 2024. I can still easily play many older games at 1440p 165fps max settings, and newer games at 1080p 60fps mid to low settings. hoping to finally upgrade this year though
@@gabecapps liked and subbed btw, i love seeing people still getting good use out of old hardware in 2024. i'm running a community service project where i repair old computers and give them out for free to families in need
nice video but that cpu price isnt. you can get that i3 for way less form aliexpress or from junkyard. for 1.92euro i could buy i3-3240 wich would probaply give lot better fps OR buying Xeon E-1220 (i5-2400) for 4.61e with free shipping. some better i5 can be bought under 20e like i5-2500k for 12e
I was shocked when I bought the Xeon x5650 for $5 on eBay. I mean how are they making any money? Plus, they had tons in stock. There are definitely some good deals on eBay for budget builds.
@@gabecapps I don't know how to overclock. I have a laptop Asus, 8gb ram, it has an i5 8th gen and rendering a video takes 48 hours. Would this cpu take longer?
@legotechnic15YT that i5 should be good enough honestly. I have no issues with rendering on some older i5, but maybe it could be an issue with wi-fi? my only other thought would be to upgrade the ram if possible.
@@gabecapps My laptop ram is not upgradable sadly. That's why I bought a PC, my laptop is having hefty Issues. Here is the rest of the specs: 2Tb SATA SSD, Asus deluxe motherboard.
in my country's second hand tech "ebay" there are people selling this for literally 2.2 dollar or an i5 2400 for 4.1 dollar and older xeons which are even lower a bit just dont buy i3s from pre 8th gens, get an i5 for literally 2-5 dollars more and it will double the performance in some/most cases
all that vram, dram, ssd is totally carrying that cpus under performance in this combo. probaply that cpu is having a strugle after 3gb ram usage for sure.

Reminds me of the xeon e5 2600 series i got for 11 bucks. Dont sleep on them old xeons!

Low settings ripper tbh. 10/10

I honestly have no clue, but it’s a win for people like us!
they came from datacenters some years back, like THOUSANDS of those chips, theyre pretty much e-waste where they came from
I just bought a PC with the i7 2600K can I do rendering with it? I have 16gb ram and GTX 1060 3GB
you might be able to get away with a little bit of rendering, are you able to overclock the cpu? if so, then i don’t see it being that big of an issue

would be helpful for people considering this cpu if you posted the frame timings. big reason why the max and avg are so far apart in Fortnite.
i just play AAA games with i3 4gen back then 😂😂
At that time my spec was i3 4gen gtx 1650 4gb 16gb 1600mhz ram and it is really good
i bought pentium g4560 for $6
in poland, you can get a core 2 duo for a dollar :)
that's really cool! I want to get more into older hardware, since I know that they can still be used, even to this day!
upload more pls
i’m trying! there is a lot going on behind the scenes, and I am trying my best to put out the best quality content in a good time frame!
