    I followed your video and pulled the entire fan out and played with it for a bit to see if there was anything stuck in the blades, plugged it all back in and turned it on, it works again! Thanks!

    We have friends borrowing our car for 10 days and the fan stopped working yesterday , watched your video today, tried what you did in the video and it's back working. Thanks 👍

    Yeah top review, took mine apart all the way to fan removal, cleaned up the supply contacts going into the fan and hey presto all works fine. Thanks for time saving and money saving fix Shabba

    Perfect! I'm a total idiot when it comes to all things technical but even I fixed the problem. Or rather Shabba did and I assisted.
    Hope I can put it all back together now...

    My layout was a little different (MK3). Relays accessible via hatch behind glovebox door. Relays OK, Fuses OK. Disconnected earth from battery. Removed glovebox and heating duct as in video. Removed resistor from fan motor side. Stuck fingers into resistor hole and could feel blades of squirrel cage fan. They were stuck in one location. A small amount of force allowed rotation, after which they rotated very freely. Guessing some damp and lack of use allowed motor to corrode to one location. Don't know why fuse didn't blow. Refitted and reconnected everything and it now works - no parts required. Hope this helps someone.

    Thanks very much for the video, extremely helpful and saved me £££. For some reason the fan only works on number 3 but its better than nothing in this heat. Lifesaver. I take it i need to buy a replacement pink relay.

    I think this is right hand drive car, which makes access a lot easier as this components are on the left hand side of the car. My fan is not working but my car is left hand drive so space is a lot tighter and more things need to be removed and loosened :/ Im taking my car to the dealer for a solution.

    That was useful - thanks. Any idea what the black relay is for? That’s the bigger 70a relay of the two. Mine is broken, but fan still works fine (at least it does now after cleaning contacts). Can’t see any difference if I tie wrap the relay to switch it on or leave it open...

    Brilliant video thanks. My problem is sometimes the heater won't heat at all. Have just noticed it in this colder weather we're having. Seems to be an intermittent fault. Any ideas what could be wrong?

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter Hought I'm not sure, but if it is intermittent try to check and clean all the connections and wiring leading to the heater. Good luck.

    I have no heaters whatsoever now, we're working fine and just stopped. It's a 2003 mk2 megane, I have a 2000 Scenic Megane for spares. Everything is severely hidden on the Scenic.. Any ideas where I'll find the relay and even the blower ??

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it is in a similar place as on the megane. Try to look at this video th-cam.com/video/tt5mnJuZkXc/w-d-xo.html

    Is the relay an standard Renault 4 pin or is it specific to the heater blower?

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it is definitely a 4 pin. Whether it's blower specific, not sure sorry.

    Hi, thanks for the helpful slide show, I am at the part where it comes to slide the relay box, how do I have to do it exactly please,? Thanks in advance my friend

      @justforfun193 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I slide it towards me or vice versa and I have megane 2 the 2007 one

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, its been a while since I have done this. I believe it slids down by either moving the relay box in the direction the wires are sticking out of it. You might try pushing or pulling the relay box while sliding.

    Hi just bought a megane estate . The drivers window intermittently juddering up and none of the other windows work. Any ideas . Just fixed the heaters thanks to you

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I would check the fuses first, than reset the windows by holding the up/down switches in the up position for 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, than you likely have to change the window module in each door. Hope this helps.

    hi,ive a problem with the speed control it only works on number4.checked the resistor plug etc no real signs of burn out,relay seems clean too.any thoughts?

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +1962SID
      Hi,
      Try to check the speed switch itself. There could be a broken wire leading to the switch or a different contact issue.

      I had this problem on my Scenic. I had to replace the thermal cut-out fuse thing. It only cost about a pound, but I had to take the whole dash and assembly out to get at it. I think it solders in place. If I remember it was about 105 - 120 C, but better to check first.

    Hi,
    I have Laguna 2006 ,sometimes my heater doesn't work you don't hear the fan or anything ,dead totally,and after restarting couple of times engine it starts to work! any advice?

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Rikky Solo
      Hi,
      This could be many things. I would start with turning off the air con and try whether the fan is working by using only the fan switch. If not, it could be as simple as an electric contact failure. I would check the fuse and clean the contacts and as a next step I would look at the relay (assuming that your Laguna is using a similar system than in the video), clean the contacts on the relay and test whether it is working and go from there. You might find that after cleaning the contacts on the relay it will start, or if not you might need to replace the relay. Good Luck!

    (I hope your still reading the comments on this video so here goes) before I start pulling apart my car tomorrow I'd like some advice first my fan was working ok on all four settings then stopped all together one day now I've been told it's the heater resistor that's failed so long story short there's two different sorts for my megane it's a 56 plate 1.5 diesel now I've been and bought the part but now I've watched your video makes me think I've done the wrong thing????

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, before you buy anything, I would take it apart and clean the connections, check the fuses and put back together see whether it works.

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Boffey Hi, look at the slideshow around 1:34 mins you will see the black relay box which is normally attached to the fan. Hope this helps.

    • @xjorvis
      @xjorvis 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ShabbaTheHandyman yeah thanks I could not find it anywhere. Even removed the fan no sign of it anywhere stumpted

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Boffey Hmm.., Try following the cables coming out of the fan, I believe these should lead to the relay box, unless your car has different wiring.

    • @xjorvis
      @xjorvis 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ShabbaTheHandyman yes tried following them two wires come out of the fan and go to the resistor pack then a bunch of purple wires disappear behind the dash can't see the relay anywhere. It's a 2008 year car

    • @Rymkykut
      @Rymkykut  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chris Boffey Can you send a picture of the resistor pack.
