Had one back in 1959. So your video made my heart flutter with joy.

Thanks for the demo. Tone sounded fine, but keying had a nasty chirp. For anyone who has one of these, or even a Globe Scout, to avoid chirping, tune the osc slightly OFF-peak (one side or the other ...experiment for best results) for nice CLEAN keying. I've seen too many vid's claiming that chirping is a "feature" of these. That does not have to be the case with careful pre-tuning.

Thanks for the nice video of the Chief. Glad it has a nice home. I ran it a couple of times and put it on a shelf.

I have a similar setup, it does a nice job. I know what you mean about the meter!
Great video showing the QSO and some fine vintage equipment.

Love the 2B receiver!! Next you'll have to light the meter on the Globe... :)
    Great equipment!

Terry, I'm commenting on a 6 year old video of yours as I sit here at work at around 2 AM in the morning while on a 15 minute break. I may be even more touched* than you as I have 5 Globe Chiefs and 3 Drake 2B's along with 150 or more boats in my 3 Ham Shacks. I have to keep at least one spare of everything JUST IN CASE! Your videos are very entertaining as I have seen most of them. I guess I'm sort of that weird fan of yours. Your daughter did beat you to the quick on her demo of the Globe Chief however. The talent apparently runs in the family! I hope all is well and that you never get over your serious Boat Anchor addiction. It's likely good for you and me too I guess. Bye, Bye! *(Touched definition: Insane, crazy, warped and totally lost with little hope of a cure) W7_ _ _ p.s. I don't dare give out my complete call as there is a bounty out on me.

I have one of these. Can you take a look at mine? Do you take outside repair work? I’ll test it out first but if it is not working I’d like to know if you like to repair them for others for a fee. Thanks. KB3HTN

Some interior views/tour of the chassis would have been useful and nice. Better than just listening to a qso
