@@Audiolympian yea the 120h paired with the right amps and cables have been better than at least 4 pair of speakers costing as much as 23k they are an excellent bargain at 9500$ a real steal! I have a pair of Kharma DB9-S which are outstanding but cost 38,200, I could live happy with a pair of 120H and save the cash now they are not quite as good of course as the Kharmas but point being they are as good as some I’ve heard for over 20k and that’s saying something!
They look beautiful in black and I like your description of their sound, your review. I’ll look forward to your follow up review and of the 100F. I have the 120h in Walnut and I couldn’t agree with you more about the high and mid frequency. The lows of the 120H, a different story altogether, as it should be. What did you drive the 80Fs with?

I really enjoyed your Golden Ear reviews and interestingly enough, the other speaker series that have peaked my interest are these newish ‘Founder Series’ from Paradigm. I do have quite old but beautiful Signature series Paradigm. But anyway, THANK YOU for your honest, straight-forward presentations. I will likely either go with Golden Ear Triton 2+ OR the Founder 100. You provided me confidence in either. BTW, what do you prefer for a center?, the Founder 90C (hefty!), or the Golden Ear XXL Center ?

If you’re referring to just the xxl and not the reference center I’d go with the 90c but if you mean the reference that’s a tough match. GE have a warmer sound with more range and depth but I think the 90c could produce a huge sound stage and have a little more dynamics. I’d really need to have both speakers to give a better assessment which I am thinking of. But of the top if I had to choose I’d go xxl reference. Easier to move, cost less and equally great sound. Im surprised the Founder doesnt have outright superior sound quality.Yea of course it cant match your Tritons output, but I would expect superior sound quality.

I had it crossed at 90 because of my Tritons so I just left it the same. As far as bass guitar sound it’s tight, deep and very noticeable these have a good presence of bass but they lack in impact. I’ve since upgraded to the 100f’s and wow the most amazing bass I’ve heard from a passive tower. Bass drums and guitars are deeeeeep, fast and so tight. Thanks for watching
Thank you for your review on the 80f. I am currently using a pair of Triton 7 and just wonder how you would compare the 7 with the 80f. Is it worth more than double of the Triton 7?
You’re welcome. That’s a tough but good question. The 7’s are great too. The 80’s are a more solidly built speaker with more drivers and a beautiful cabinet, which is another reason for the increased price. I will say it does have more range, a bigger sound stage and a bit sweeter tone. But is it worth double the cost??? In my opinion if a person can afford the upgrade, do it! But if not, the 7’s are a great runner up. Thanks for watching

@louv4437 yes. The 120’s could easily be endgame speakers at a pretty decent price for endgame speakers.

this might really be the one for me, my atc scm40 have too strong bass for me/my room, and the timbre is a bit too dry
