Hahaha, Germany is a joke in terms of gun laws. Do you know the MP7? It was originally developed to be used by even the most ordinary civilian in case the Warsaw Pact wanted to attack West Germany back that time. That was in 1989. They even want to ban crossbows nowdays, because three people got killed with crossbows - suicides - happend 2018. There is no single attack and therefore no murder with a crossbow EVER recorded in Germany for hundreds of years. They even want to ban knives with a lenght of more than 6,5 centimeters or 2,55 inches and a special permit for everyone who needs something longer for, lets say woodwork or hunters and fishermen. Why? Because more and more people get attacked with knives and also the police, firefigthers and medics. BUT... it is nearly every time a kitchen knife and not something like Swiss Pocketknives. It is is huge joke.

Joerg tends to deliberately put his inventions in the public domain, for everybody to use freely. He finds it a hassle setting up a patent and prefers making videos. This way he prevents some company setting up the patent for their exclusive use and blocking others from making use of the invention.
He'd more than likely have to change the name of it too since i'm sure he would run into issues actually marketing it as the "Instant Legolas". Not that big a deal but something to consider.
JMan the moment this is available in the public domain it will be hard to order a patent to this. In my opinion he should rather make this well known enough so that it isn’t novel anymore. As I suggested he should sell a cad print with assembly manual for 3D print and just sell it on his page for like 5€. It’s really not that hard considering that there aren’t that many parts. It still needs some investment for testing though but that should be easily be earned back if the interest is really as great as people believe.
I really admire him for admitting he does not have the experience to create technical drawings and simultaneously showing his appreciation for those that can. He's such a humble man that understands the value of knowing what he does not know.

A thought about pump action: what if there was a pistol grip with a trigger. And the trigger deploys and releases a hook that will grip onto the string when the trigger is released, and release the string when the trigger is depressed. So you squeeze the trigger to "open" the hook, slide the entire pistol grip forwards to the string. Release the trigger and hook onto the string. Then pull the pistol grip back, so the hook pull back the string along with it. Then when the string is "cocked", you press the trigger and it releases the string, sending the bolt forwards.

Joerg, did you realize you now have 2.34 million subscribers? I've watched your small channel come up from the "Slingshot Channel" with 300 subscribers to this, the channel that even Google is afraid of.
They are scared of being noticed by certain 'organizations' and agencies for mass producing weapons that surpasses a tool's original utility. I mean, why would you want to have rapid fire capabilities for a hunting bow, they might think? If they got this in Hong Kong though, it will turn into a bloody civil war.
@@dra6o0n first of all, if they had this in hongkong, they'd just roll out the army and start shooting people. And yes it is capable, but i dont think it would be fun for long. I started out shooting with a compound bow with a sight, that was reallt fun the first few weeks but then it starts to get boring, and i discovered that shooting with a traditional longbow or just a recurve even without any assists is the most fun thing to do.

I hate it if people ask for blueprints. The channel already shows the invention that has been made. And after dozens of Instant- videos and explanations of how the device works, people still need an exact blueprint to the millimetre? Wtf. The concept has been explained over and over. It would only take effort to replicate it. Whoever who asks for blueprints would probably save it somewhere but not have the motivation to actually turn it into an actual thing
For swinging, I don't recommend the nails as fighting spikes. Straight nails will impact at an angle, not right on the point, and they will also stick due to their round and untapered shape, increasing friction in whatever they strike. That's why blades are better! Also, I think it would look cool with some wicked blades on it!
Joerg, how do you avoid damaging the bow string when you draw past the sharp tip of an arrow in the magazine? How is this problem - if there IS a problem - solved in your Instant Legolas set?
The forward facing bayonet is awesome, but watching you carefully maneuver the top and bottom nails I realized I'd kill myself with them! Knowing your own limitations is key to survival!

Afraid of change and archery is a very traditional sport so there is a natural aversion to change based on that alone
