The cicadas can tell you about it 🙃.
Lived in Japan for 6 years (first in Sasebo, then Yokosuka). I can relate to this clip. I recall when it was like 60 degrees out, and a lot of people were dressed in full-blown winter gear like they were going to hit the ski slopes or something. And I was wearing just a long-sleeved shirt walking around, sweating just looking at them. Still, it's the best country I've ever lived in. :)

In my country we hit 50°C in summer easly somedays more , its like walking in fire , so i think japan would be considered cool for me , but i hate humidity even more

@@archdukegordy2189 I don't think you need to worry too much. shorts and stuff are completely normal even if people don't wear it as much as in the west when its that hot for fashion reasons. Just make sure to have a neckline on your shirt that doesn't reveal too much. that is pretty uncommon there

I had such an experience when I was in Japan during the summer. My hometown is usually over 50°C in the summer so I never felt hot in Japan but god damn I sweat like there was no end, it was bizarre for me!
I lived in Egypt a few years back & lived there through the summer including in the heat of 50°c. When I saw Bedouins wearing coats & headscarves originally I didn't get it. Then I worked it out. Wearing clothes acts as insulation, not as heating. So that means when it's really hot wearing a turban, a scarf & a coat will literally cool you down. I got used to the weather by wearing a cotton turban, cool, lightweight breathable overshirt, a tank top underneath & cool airy linen or cotton trousers. Silk is also a good fabric in hot humid weather which is I guess why Chinese wear a lot of silk traditionally. So if you avoid exposure to the sun, wear breathable fabric, you're going to sweat less. Staying in the shade or in cool, well ventiled airy locations next to water, when you don't have access to AC or a fan also helps. Having fountains also helps cool the air which is why you see them so much in Mediterranean or Arabic culture, normally in an atrium surrounded by shady columned areas.
How realistic is it to be in the shadows when you're moving through the city in the summer? Also, speaking of the Mediterranean, there are no more fountains in Greece unfortunately, they've put them away unfortunately a decade since..

Thats not just asians, is how your body is conditioned. If you live in a certain region your body adapts to the temperature of that zone whereas is hot or cold you adapted. You think arabs cant handle the desert heat? Or latinos arent used to humid/warm temperatures? Even most african countries have to be hot as hell. Heat waves will never be comfy but even if you go to a warmer zone you'll adapt after some years. Where i live as young i couldnt even go to toilet without sweating like a pig, it was a sauna, you are in an AC room that is cold and then you walk outside, it felt like burning the skin. These days are hotter than when I was young and i sweat less

As a Japanese dude, *what dafuq are cooling pads* I know of peppermint spray that makes your back feel likes it’s freezing up but I’ve never heard of cooling pads haha 😂 Tbh I’d suggest only visiting from March to early June or anytime after September if you wish to avoid the muggy death heat hell that is japan lol. I love to go on runs during the burning ass afternoon of the summertimes to test me mettle, but I fully understand I’m not the norm, the heat sucks. Sometimes you can “thug it out” as the Americans sometimes say online haha 😂 Other days, especially when other things don’t go right, the heat just puts salt in the wounds and you wish for the winter. And when it’s winter you wish for summer 😂

Maybe you're referring to cooling vests with battery powered fans? Workers who are required to wear long sleeves for safety (e.g. construction, electricians, etc.) are now often provided these vests which have small motorized fans. They cool by moving air inside to force sweat to evaporate quickly, so it's quite efficient and lasts a long time, but they turn absolutely nasty really quick if you don't clean it regularly.

Worst I’ve experienced is Florida, it’s more humid than Japan and the actual temperature is way higher. Dubai summer though is intense I think a month or two ago the “feels like” temperature was 140+ degrees

I can confirm that the heat in Japan just hits different. Last July my husband and I spent 17 days across Tokyo, Kyoto, and Ito for our honeymoon. We were lucky if it was in the mid 80s and the heat is so stagnant, it sticks to you as soon as you step outside. We joke that stepping into the AC after spending all day outside was the best part of the trip 😂

Back in the 1980’s my best friend, as we waited in line to enter a Patti LaBelle concert in Memphis Tennessee in the dead of winter said to me, “it’s ok to be cold Andy, you just can’t look cold” and we finally got through the line and watched Patti sizzle like a piece of bacon all over the stage. It was worth it and we both looked amazing. Later that night we were mugged leaving the concert, shoved into our own car and driven who knows where them left in the side of the rode in just our socks and underwear. Maybe we were looking too good.😅

The trick is to walk really slowly. Just breathe and enjoy a slow walk. The 2nd trick is to keep the walks short, from house to driveway, from car to shop, choose the nearest shop if you're walking there. 3rd trick, take regular breaks under the shade and eat a fruit. 4th trick, try to have a destination so you can always hang the heavy coats and stuff as per human custom.
Try living an hour away from Death Valley, 😅it’s consistently 95-110 during the summer and it always has that weird span of days that get to 115. Plus our spring and fall seasons practically don’t exist we get the weather of spring for maybe a week then it’s blistering heat and when we get fall the weather lasts a few weeks. Feels like I live in fire and brimstone 😂 it doesn’t stop their either considering it just hailed two days ago and I haven’t seen that happening in over half a decade. The extreme weather makes me want to move.

As long as you get your layers on before your body heats up, and you don't work your body heat up while you're out there (stay moving slow and don't push hard on hills) layers can actually insulate you from heat if you're not staying outside too long and use the shade well.
I could not be there in the summer. I'm a very heavy sweater and it's so annoying having to keep wiping sweat out my eyes so I can see. Also, everyone will probably be staring. Very funny video 😂😂😂
i sweat a lot too, but i have found ways to deal with it. i wear sweat absorbing undergarments, airism underwear, very light summer clothing, hats for protection, and i try to avoid going outside during the hottest times of the day.
Hyperhidrosis? I talked to my primary care provider and now I'm on a medication that lessens it. If money is an issue, applying for Medicaid (surprisingly easy when I did it) and going to a free clinic are good options! ❤

Its crazy how the human body adapts. My family and I went to Mexico once (from Canada) and while on a tour, we're all in shorts and sandals, a-shirts, etc. All the locals were in winter coats and wool caps. Because of course, its their winter. Same thing with migrants coming to Canada. Working at my outside job, t-shirt and shorts cause its 15C, end of september. An African immigrant comes up in full winter clothes, complains about how cold it is. He moved here mid June. Ill never forget the look on his face when I told him it was normal to drop to -40/-50 in the winter. You wouldve thought I told him he had 3 months to get ready for priaon.

Where i live as young i couldnt even go to toilet without sweating like a pig, it was a sauna, you are in an AC room that is cold and then you walk outside, it felt like burning the skin. These days are hotter than when I was young and i sweat less

Maybe you're referring to cooling vests with battery powered fans? Workers who are required to wear long sleeves for safety (e.g. construction, electricians, etc.) are now often provided these vests which have small motorized fans. They cool by moving air inside to force sweat to evaporate quickly, so it's quite efficient and lasts a long time, but they turn absolutely nasty really quick if you don't clean it regularly.

I've lived in Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas. I spent two weeks in Japan in August. It's the most misreably hot and humid thing I've ever experienced.
Worst I’ve experienced is Florida, it’s more humid than Japan and the actual temperature is way higher. Dubai summer though is intense I think a month or two ago the “feels like” temperature was 140+ degrees

I can confirm that the heat in Japan just hits different. Last July my husband and I spent 17 days across Tokyo, Kyoto, and Ito for our honeymoon. We were lucky if it was in the mid 80s and the heat is so stagnant, it sticks to you as soon as you step outside. We joke that stepping into the AC after spending all day outside was the best part of the trip 😂

Try living an hour away from Death Valley, 😅it’s consistently 95-110 during the summer and it always has that weird span of days that get to 115. Plus our spring and fall seasons practically don’t exist we get the weather of spring for maybe a week then it’s blistering heat and when we get fall the weather lasts a few weeks. Feels like I live in fire and brimstone 😂 it doesn’t stop their either considering it just hailed two days ago and I haven’t seen that happening in over half a decade. The extreme weather makes me want to move.
😂 I went bk home to Jamaica last year for holiday and it was a heat wave. When I tell you I could barely cope amd I see kids coming from school on a hoodie, o can’t understand it. One would think I was not Jamaican 😮

As long as you get your layers on before your body heats up, and you don't work your body heat up while you're out there (stay moving slow and don't push hard on hills) layers can actually insulate you from heat if you're not staying outside too long and use the shade well.
I could not be there in the summer. I'm a very heavy sweater and it's so annoying having to keep wiping sweat out my eyes so I can see. Also, everyone will probably be staring. Very funny video 😂😂😂
i sweat a lot too, but i have found ways to deal with it. i wear sweat absorbing undergarments, airism underwear, very light summer clothing, hats for protection, and i try to avoid going outside during the hottest times of the day.

Hyperhidrosis? I talked to my primary care provider and now I'm on a medication that lessens it. If money is an issue, applying for Medicaid (surprisingly easy when I did it) and going to a free clinic are good options! ❤

Its crazy how the human body adapts. My family and I went to Mexico once (from Canada) and while on a tour, we're all in shorts and sandals, a-shirts, etc. All the locals were in winter coats and wool caps. Because of course, its their winter.
Same thing with migrants coming to Canada. Working at my outside job, t-shirt and shorts cause its 15C, end of september. An African immigrant comes up in full winter clothes, complains about how cold it is. He moved here mid June. Ill never forget the look on his face when I told him it was normal to drop to -40/-50 in the winter. You wouldve thought I told him he had 3 months to get ready for priaon.
