I remember performing "Les Miserables" towards the end of my final year of school, and when it came time to sing the finale, we were all emotional, since it was the end of our time together.
I wish "We Raise Our Cups" from Hadestown would of been added. Actually I would love them to be in any of the Mojo musical videos! It's such an amazing musical and I especially like the cast from London's West End
Thanks for including "Next to Normal." It really does an amazing job of portraying mental illness, and the ending may be bittersweet, but hopeful, and that the characters can move on from their grief stricken pasts.
I saw Michael Crawford on Broadway in Phantom of the Opera and cried my eyes out at the end. I stopped at the ladies' room on the way out and dozens of women were standing in the line with tears rolling down their cheeks.
I think this is a solid list. I've seen all but 2 of them. I also love When I Grow Up from Matilda. And though it didn't make it to Broadway (tragedy!!), the finale of The Hunchback of Notre Dame was phenomenal.
I’m a die hard Sweeney Todd fan (no pun intended) so I always love the Ballad especially at the end where we wrap everything up. And depending on the production it is always fun to see how it’s done. If you saw the recent revival you CANNOT deny the drop into the trap door! They walked together and despite their differences and all the wrongs done, they held hands & went down swinging together & boom the drop! Chills! 😊❤
My 2 favorites are keep marching from suffs and the ending to the drowsy chaperone love is always lovely in the end. The narrator joins hands with the people whose story he’s told and it is just great.
How about: .Beauty and the Beast (Reprise)/Grand Finale- Beauty and the Beast .Grand Finale- The Little Mermaid .Science Fiction Double Feature and Time Warp (Reprises)- The Rocky Horror Show .Superstar/Crucifixion/John 19:41- Jesus Christ Superstar .Finale/Oh, the Thinks You Can Think (Reprise)- Seussical .This Is Our Story- Shrek the Musical
Tell Me It’s Not True… Blood Brothers In The Beginning… Children of Eden Our Time… Merrily We Roll Along Finale … Rags The Ballad of Sweeney Todd… Sweeney Todd Finale… The Secret Garden Epilogue: Ragtime (Reprise)… Ragtime
Good choices. Another that occurs to me is The Concert from The Band's Visit. The journey is important, but the triumphant arrival at the destination is a great capstone. Comedy Tonight (Reprise) from A Funny Thing...Forum. This song at the beginning and end is a framing device and the rest, save for a little narration and fourth wall breaking, is a play within a play. I wish I could say that The Producers had a better finale than Pris'ners of Love.
I like most of these choices and Ik that there is little to no footage of this clip but the outsiders the musical should have been chosen with Finale(Tulsa ‘67)/Stay Gold. This was such a moving clip that it had me in tears at the end of the show.
That footage of the “Hair” cast performing live in 1969 brought back the fear I felt from my mom, aunt, and older cousins as we learned about loved ones and friends’ kids who were reported MIA or KIA in Viet Nam, and my males cousins being drafted. Those performers were singing about a war that was raging *at that very moment”, about young people who were dying *at that very moment”.
I think one I wish was on the list is Once On This Island’s Why We Tell the Story. PS: Into the Woods Children will listen I cry just listening to it because I did the musical
So many great finale songs here. Definitely worth their placements. Personal favorite is also Dear Evan Hansen’s finale. Quiet, simple, effectively does the job after all that the character has been through.
For Now from Avenue Q, The Ad-dressing Of Cats, Join The Circus(Barnum), The Ballad Of Sweeney Todd, Waterloo(Mama Mia), Beauty and The Beast(Reprise), DreamGirls, Finale B(Rent), Who Tells Your Story(Hamilton), Dear Evan Hansen, Into The Woods, Sunday In The Park With George, This Is Our Story from Shrek: The Musical, The Color Purple(Reprise)(The Color Purple), Aida, 42nd Street(finale), Evita, Give Me My Colored Coat(Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Climb Every Mountain(The Sound Of Music), Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, My Fair Lady, and other musicals should've been on the list. 🎟️🎟️🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭🚖🚖🚖🚆🚢🚆🚔🚔🚔🗽
I think Frozen’s closing number should have been included Finale/Let it Go. It has an amazing impact and I feel Frozen is over looked because it’s Frozen.
I would argue Home from Beetlejuice the musical should be on this list. Lydia finally admitting she’s home and feeling like she belonged left me with satisfied tears.

True. First time I saw the show I was literally dancing out of the theatre.
I wish there was Don't Feed The Plants from Little Shop Of Horrors, a catchy but dark ending song
I think this is a solid list. I've seen all but 2 of them. I also love When I Grow Up from Matilda. And though it didn't make it to Broadway (tragedy!!), the finale of The Hunchback of Notre Dame was phenomenal.

This site is so unbelievably stupid and poorly researched
