The Music in those days it was superb, and most of the actors also were very good dancers. The best years for Hollywood movies in my humble opinion 🎥
You are right
Despite the racial stereotypes and absence of any diversity? 😐
@@Marsha_Annsure .. that was unfortunate .. movies were still classic
@@Brood1780 So "unfortunate" does NOT = the best.
@@Marsha_Ann i didnt say the best i said classic. Relax
Those were the days when it was ok to be happy for all the right reasons!
Those were the days...
The older I get the more I appreciate these incredible & timely songs!!

Love love love the musicals of the 30s 40s and 50s. Nothing like them.
Just fabulous. Many thanks. England, September, 2024.
Thank you for watching ..I am from England too !! 🙂
Ahhhh, the golden age of Hollywood. Why, oh, why, must we accept the heathens' demands of today? Why, oh, why?🌠
So watch online and take your pick of the oldies. Remember, movies are done in takes and built into what looks like a seamless whole…
DebbiecReynold’ remembrances about the bleeding feet and Gene Kelly’s
Patronizing jerk...
You would be wise not to test either my patience or my vocabulary…
I guess you are trying to shame me…??? Try making ice on a sidewalk in Alabama…you’ll have better luck.
If you have a point pls make it and move on.
I remember on sunday afternoon, there was always one of these movies on tv. Why is this not the case anymore?😪

Fred and Ginger are doing another astonishing dance. On roller skates. Brilliant.
Seeing this. reminds me of my parents.. Miss them and these times.. I like he's singing in the rain and actually getting wet.. Movies and shows these days.. They do scenes in the rain.. And no one gets wet.. Funny.
I just love this kind of music! So merry and catchy! 🎼🎶🎵🥰😍
And you can understand the lyrics!
Talent, talent and more talent.

3:56 What a performance!!
She walked into the recording studio, stood in front of the mic and recorded that song in one take; although there was one slight glitch, it was left in. Then, she casually walked out and went to the Brown Derby for lunch, with Ray Bolger.
Magnificent! 😊 Dancing on roller skates....WOW! ❤
Judy garland was the best!!😢❤
🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭♥Thanks, Pete! Now, I'm off to see if you have any more like this.♥🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭🎭
Bellissima musica stupendi film... che bei tempi ❤❤❤
"Till the Clouds Roll By" 1946 - a musical based on the biography Jerome David Kern, also!
The Trolley line which Garland boarded to the St Louis Worlds Fair likely went from Kaiser Wilhelm Blvd to the DeBaliviere Street Main Entrance to the World's Fairgrounds along what is today Lindell Blvd. During WW1 because the Kaiser was not a friend, Kaiser Wilhelm Blvd was renamed Kingshighway.
I know this because the block number on Kensington Ave where the Smith family and "the boy next door" lived was within a block or 2 of what is now Kingshighway..
That last scene took I think 100 takes. You all might like the 1974 movie That's Entertainment! which has clips of old movies and That's Entertainment! Part 2 and That's Dancing!
I saw them in the cinema ..brilliant !!
@@peteroberts4033 Yes. I saw them on TV.

With the openwork parapet of the stairs, it was indecent for women to ride on the second tier, the Imperial. It was in "Good Old England" And the Americans got it all wrong, as usual. But the music is excellent...

I am from Good Old England ..and never knew that !! 🙂
It’s Ny-ther.
Neither….in words that have a Germanic origin, when two vowels are together, the second vowel is pronounced.
Einstein…as we pronounce it, it correct.
