I love the classic simplicity of the #14.

Agree with you. Simple and perfectly adapted for mass production. Functionalism way before Bauhaus!

I'm sitting in a B9 with upholstered seat as I watch this video. :)

A wonderful chair indeed! Everything Thonet made in the 19th century led up to the B9!

We have a child's chair that probably dates from the early 1900s. It came from a relative who lived near Vienna, and simply looks like a smaller version of the Thonet adult chair designs of that time. Your video was extremely informative, thank you very much. It's interesting to learn that the Thonets not only had great design skills but were also advanced in manufacturing, distribution and marketing.

Thanks! We're so glad you found the video interesting. Sound's like a lovely chair you got. Its really nice with child-size furniture made as small scale replicas of the full size versions. Guess it was even harder to produce the small ones!

Do you know anything about the Thonet model A 665 F? Supposedly designed by Josef Frank. I have been trying like crazy to find any information about it.

Hello! Sorry, but I haven't any good information about this model either. Frank did design a few pieces for Thonet, but it's not a lot of information available about this time in his career. But its a nice looking chair indeed. And quite rare.
