    I would love to see what the Sennelier mini pack looks like AND to see another dot card painting! Fun! I don't subscribe to those boxes anymore since I feel I have too much miscellaneous stuff already. Thanks for sharing!

      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Okay, thank you. Yes, the random miscellaneous stuff is also why I stopped my art box subscriptions. Only a few left of these. 🙂

    That mini Sennelier tin is the first I ever owned by them! Great paints, maybe not the best tin, haha. So many fun supplies in these boxes, I love the pure randomness that comes in them.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, this tin is either going to get modified, or the pans will be moved into a different palette. They have such a good idea here with the little tin - a few tweaks would make it perfect. Oh well! Yes, the subscription boxes are fun, until eventually you just have this huge collection of randomness or too many duplicates or small pads of paper that are a challenge to use up. But I still love them!

    I love the Sennelier mini palette for urban/ plein air sketching. It’s great paint. I do wish it had a mixing space, I put a little piece of plastic cut from a milk jug in it and use that. I enjoy these vicarious palette box openings.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will either spray it with appliance white or put the pans into a different palette 🎨. Decisions, decisions...

    What an amazing selection of different and equally fun products! I'd love to see the Acryla Gouache on that cotton canvas and the pencils too!

    My vote is for the Sennelier Mini Pack, the Fluid Acrylics, and the Acryla Gouache, in order from most to least interested. Really, anything you make will be awesome, though! Always happy to see what you come up with. Also, with inventory, I've realized it's the markers and pencils that take up the most space. I have so many still around from when I was a kid (or gifted to me by my grandma when SHE was in designer school many decades ago). Somehow, they end up lasting forever.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay, thanks, Blue! You're right about the markers and pencils taking up a lot of space - my marker shelf is quite wide at this point and I have a huge drawer of pencils. Yikes! Yeah, art supplies that have been handed down or were our when we are kids should tell us exactly how long art supplies last and be a warning, lol!

    Wow. So many cool things to try. I'm interested in seeing the hot press papers (Rembrandt and Legion) in action. The Sennelier watercolor mini-set is adorable - seeing that in use would be great. Also, more of your 'dot-card' paintings would be appreciated. 🤩

    The Sennelier set and the chunky pencils seem rather interesting. All the boxes looked well filled. Have a great weekend Miranda.

    I'm kind of in your boat. I've got quite a backlog of subscription boxes sitting on my shelves to the point that I've actually cancelled those subscriptions until I actually use what I already have (at least once). My reward for disciplining myself is restarting the subscriptions once I run through the backlog.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a great plan. Maybe you'll find an art supply that you love in there!

    Ok wow the boxes are amazing! I would love to see you review Sennelier mini and see of there is a difference to their tubes. Also I'm down for another dot card paintings 😍 Every now and then I rewatch the dot cards playlist it's just so fun to see what you can paint with tiny dots of paint.

    • @dees3179
      @dees3179 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’ve found the pans are easier to travel with than poring from tubes as they remain quite liquid, sometimes for ever.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sennelier mini has the most votes so far. I did notice that my pans that I poured from tubes are quite soft and sticky, and these pans seem quite firm. It's something I'll need to remember to mention when I do the video. I'm also really looking forward to getting back to the dot card series!

    just today, I went through some stuff that I store in the cabinet below the tv. I had real mess there and I threw some stuff I kept saving from packages. Of course, I just realised I will need it. well, no needle felting for few months 😜

    Dot card painting sounds interesting! I miss the surprise and satisfaction of getting the subscription boxes but I found myself not doing much with them then needing to figure out what to keep and what to give to the grandkids. The grandkids are pretty set with art supplies 😂

  • @MrsBarnabas
    @MrsBarnabas ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This wasn't your question, Miranda, but of that mass of supplies, I'd love to have the DS dot card, the mini Sennelier set, and the Holbein coloured pencils - all for curiosity's sake (and of course, the three most expensive items on the table!!!). So my choice would be for you to do the DS dot card painting, maybe incorporating the Holbein pencils.
    I'll get to your other dot card paintings eventually, as I've gone back to the first of your videos and am working my way forward, alongside Maggie's and Becky's. Ermm... but I'm now being tempted to look at those dot card paintings first...Curiosity and all that....
    😊

    As a beginner artist I'd love all of the mediums that they sent. I'm primarily watercolor and sketch but would love to learn all mediums, unfortunately I cannot afford any actual art supplies that are worth using but I make due

    Hi Miranda, my choice is the sennelier paints, and then it is a tie between the fluid acrylics and the acryla gouache. Good luck with your writing down all your art supplies. That seems like a lot of work.

    What a nice selection to choose from! I’m very curious about the fluid acrylics. Do they keep the shape of the line when dry? Sennelier put their Abstract line out a few years ago, they were the same pen shape but the paint wouldn’t flow out and it really hurt your hand to use them. I believe they were reformulated and may be refillable now, but mine weren’t. And those Creatacolor pencils. I’ve been looking at them, tho I know I don’t need them 😂. The thickness of the lead seems like they could be used in many multi-media ways. Don’t know how you have the time to do all the things you do, but thank you for them.😊
    A PS: Remember the Supervision paints and that small, square, 16-well palette with the silicon lid? … They are still perfectly fluid, so the palette is super, but they do not work well together. By design, those paints need to flow and mix before they disperse on a surface, and you can’t do it with this palette because the paint separates in the little well so you have to stir it just before using or dunk the entire tip of your brush in to try and grab a mixture of pigment, and that’s not kind to your brush. I had also dried out a little bit of each as a dot card and they are hard as a rock, refusing to rewet. Think they need to be fresh squeezed. And beware separation in the tube!
    The palette I LOVE! I had purchased a few, thinking I could make different palettes with small amounts of paint for experimentation. Because the silicon lid is so fantastic I am not putting honey-based paint in them but regular-thickness-paint has been fine so far.
    Thanks again! 😊

    Fun stuff! I don’t know if you have any videos on your channel of any mixed media artworks? May be you can combine supplies and create something? I did a watercolor painting and messed up and used soft pastels and regular (permanent) coloring pencils to fix it 😊! I have the Sennelier mini palette. I removed the half pans from the plastic insert and put them into plastic half pans and added them to my mixed brand metal watercolor palette.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good idea to put them into a better palette. I have a few mixed media artworks on the channel. Mostly in my art subscription boxes playlist. I have another video coming up at some point using a bunch of random supplies. It should be fun!

    i need to find those chunky cretacolor pencils, i like the brand and can never have too many shiny pencils lol

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm kind of anxious to try them out myself. I just have a huge backlog of supplies, so it's on the list, but I'm not sure when. There's something satisfying about chunky pencils!

    I have a sennelier set. Otherwise, I'd be most excited about that one. I do want to see that acryla gouache. And I'm wondering if thats 500 mixed media paper bc if so, its 100 percent cotton. I get their sketchbooks and I prefer them to strathmores watercolor sketchbooks bc those are cellulose (even tho they are thicker)
    I'm not usually a hug acrylic person because I don't like the shiny mediums but acryl gouache is usually pretty matte so I think that'll be my next buy!
    Quick question, what's your favorite water-based marker?

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I am anxious to play with the Acryla Gouache. I like the Faber-Castell Pitt Artist markers, but I'm not in my studio and can't remember if they're water-based or not, but I think they are. They are a delight to work with.

    posca white marker - I bought one and on the first use it dumped all it's white ink on my page and was dried out after. I hope that's not normal.

    • @MirandaWatsonArt
      @MirandaWatsonArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dumping ALL its ink out is definitely not normal! They do sometimes dump quite a large amount out when you pump them - especially if you haven't shaken them first for a while. I always shake mine to smithereens and then pump it on a separate piece of paper or a palette. Bummer about that. :-{
