@@gen2mediainc.577 I ended up leaving it behind for stormworks. I can build more complex stuff there than space engineers, though the devs are pretty similar in some ways lol
This is amazingly well designed, looks so realistic and practical which is the most important thing in ship designs. Nobody cares about the beautiful but useless ship, this is so well organized it's just so well made that it nearly leaves me speechless.
I can just imagine 10+ players trying to launch simultaneously from each hanger while 4+ players try to keep everyone from crashing into eachother from each of the various control towers / hangar control rooms.
r3dp9 yeah, and screaming as someone accidentally either hits his engines to full and fills the hanger with his debris and that of the hole.in the wall , or triggers his weapons and makes everything overly explody....
i dont mean to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot my account password. I would love any help you can offer me
In terms of size? That thing is nothing compared to the ship I'm partway through building; it's over a kilometer long... Imagine a cruiser class ship multiplied by 20.
Never thought i'd find someone who has played the game. The only Thing Missing is the raised Platform in the Center. I personally prefer in Looks and effect the aidis bridges. the look like reasonable designs.
The large open area is actually built to house the 'Ascii' frigate, which is seen in the screenshots on the workshop, with that bottom hangar type door opening for this. Also the workshop page says the ship is not atmospheric capable so instead a lander, soon to be uploaded, is used to get the tanks and personnel to a planets surface.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t seem like a frontline combat ship, if one rocket or som Gatling fire slipped through the exposed rear, it would trigger a catastrophic chain reaction that would cripple the ship
Plus why have separate hangar doors if there is one main hangar bay? It has no sense! Whole point of having separate or covered hangars is that one random missile wouldn't destroy whole fighter fleet (enemy should not even approach classic carrier). Plus Assault Carrier in fact transport Desant Pods, not participate in combat. Any carrier shouldn't!
@Connor Fitzpatrick True, but it still doesn't justify bad design, and it shamefully it is not a good carrier and especially not "strike". Fighters have hard access to hangar bay, what doesn't provide proper protection anyway. Infrastructure is poor, lack cryopods for fighter pilots or even rational design. To be honest putting fighters on outside of cruiser would make more sense then that crap.
I agree, most ships on the SE workshop are really like those toys that loo cool but you really can't do anything with them, in the creators defense however, it s really not possible to have those big tactical battles with ships and fighters :c
Dam that last part lol when i saw the control room screens i was was all giddy thinking that thoughs were cameras doing that but, unfortunately just pictures.
Sandijs Bartušs The issue here is not the scale of the ship, but instead the amount of grids, subgrids, and lights. Notice that the lower hangar bays are their own grids, all the interior is decorated with small blocks, as their own grids, and each small ship docked is also it's own grid.
Oh that is indeed a beautiful ship and I bet CpJ & crew would love to use a ship like that in their new series but knowing them, they’d destroy it in a matter of seconds to the *cough* A.I. enemy
Do you mean the OP drones from that one mod, or the quote&unquote "NPC enemy" that knows how to stab an explosive jump drive to death with a butter knife?
Literally just scrapped my entire design for a large ship I was working on because this made me think it was not big enough. I want a ship of this caliber :D
An inconvenient truth: external small craft storage is superior because it allows faster launching and recovery and it avoids the colossal damage that can occur if a ship breaks loose inside the hangar. Even today we occasionally have issues where landing gear get reset to an unlocked state. And side-facing hangars require the launching ship be completely stopped. Don't get me wrong, I like the IDEA of internal hangars, but I don't like the reality of playing with them in Space Engineers. Probably the best way to do an internal hangar in Space Engineers is a rear-opening hangar, functioning similarly to the well deck of an LHD. This allows launching while the ship is in motion, and also shields both the hangar entrance and launching fighters from incoming fire. It also reduces damage should a ship break loose, since damage will tend to be concentrated towards the rear of the bay which, in this case, will just be the doors to the outside; it can't shred the entire length of your ship. Of course, you have to contend with thruster flames when doing this, but proper positioning of the thrusters can avoid any problems.
This made me want to redownload the game just to design some kind of ship to conter larger ships. Maybe a submarine type ship that try’s to have as little sig as possible that probably only fires long range missles with minimal fire and more than one jump drives.
You display some pretty impressive ships in your clips. I could design a ship like it but I'm still trying to make Internal features (bridge, passageways, hangars, etc.) 2:31-Even though the design does look good, you're right about one thing, I do not like the asymmetrical part of it
I like the stargate X-304(?) Design in the front, cool beans with that. Now let's get into the bad: 1st that vacuum exposed hanger is a really really bad idea, it's a major structural weakness and thus a perfect target it also defeats the purpose of a strike type carrier. 2nd is its a warship symmetry is an absolute necessity as asymmetry can create blind spots and structural flaws/exploits. 3rd that exposed hanger is usable space that could be used in a variety of ways. 4th control towers are targets also useless cause it's space the enemy can attack from any angle/direction. If the enemy fleet has ships designated for sniper duty, they will take advantage of its flaws to quickly remove it from the fight. I still like the general design of the ship lots of potential, those structural flaws need to be removed or reworked. I give it a 3/10 "needs work, but has great potential"
in the workshop it says this ship has no mods. If that's the case, then how are those LCD panel showing the outside of the ship and how id he getting the consoles to look like that?
I'd be cool to have a multi-crew multiplayer PvP battle with this one, were two smaller carriers fight against this larger one. (except the three carriers own weapons wont be used, other than defense against fighters)
You'd need to simplify a few things first - get rid of the decorative small ship subgrids, turn off all but the utility lights, limit the number of fighters to the number of actual pilots...
I wanted to do a cruiser kind of ship that has a hangar bay to hold a fighter or 2 to be able to get that extra survilience or kind of extra firepower with either mounted torpedoes or bombs
I’m a huge fan of symmetrical ships I hate it when they aren’t symmetrical but I guess since in real life an aircraft carrier isn’t symmetrical then there’s nothing wrong with the asymmetric design here.
i feel like mouse aimed weaponry should a built-in game mechanic. after all it's Space "Engineers" we're meant to engineer everything. in my opinion? Including Weapons! It would make guns look good towards there ship design. and look good for whatever faction it be.
I have built some pretty bad ass battleships and heavily armored base stars in my time but never anything that looked as good as this ship or this much detail.. i just dont see the point in doing so since games get wiped or people and friends stop playing for years and by the time you come back you all want to start over to do the grind together for fun and get into space again for the first time and expand etc etc etc... its like once you build a ship of this caliber nothing npc can touch you ever and the game gets boring because your just going from rock to rock with the same nothingness in it. This game has great potential and i hope they keep working on it and expanding to make it more playable for years to come but ive restarted like hundreds of times just from being bored and nothing to do except attack npc space pirates. Love the game though and how you are able to piece by piece build bases and ships.

This is a perfect example of an asymmetrical ship with symmetry. The 2 sides different but equal. They seem symmetrical even though theyre not
It would make an excellent capital ship because of its sheer size and all the hangars
I think this ship own its own is enough for a small group of players to mount a small army
On that open center bay I'd equip heavy blast doors to close it for battle defense similar to the tigers claw from the wing commander film.
