@@paulakarl12 SAME!! Everyone around me says, it’s okay you can take meds. But I feel the same way as you, all I do is cry about it. I worked HARD to eat right(within reason of course, I wasn’t necessarily eating greens everyday lol) but I tried to limit salts and fried foods. I was healthy the entire time and BOOM during my 6week PP checkup, my BP is high. I was very devastated 😭😭. It’s such a lonely feeling.. and now I don’t know if I want another kid because hypertension can cause preclampsia. I don’t want to traumatize myself more than I am right now..

@@brialianabesos I’m so sorry you are going through this too. I can completely understand you. I’ve been crying my eyes out for the last 3 weeks.
In my case I had a healthy pregnancy the whole time and around 35 weeks my BP started getting high so they induced me at 38 weeks telling me that ones the placenta was out I was going back to normal and unfortunately it got worse. I was put on magnesium in the hospital and finally went home after 5 days but still with medication everytime they take my BP I freak out and makes it worse🤦🏻‍♀️.
I really feel traumatized by this experience

@@paulakarl12 ohhh wow!! I took magnesium during my 2nd and part of my 3rd trimester for the constant cramping. I didn’t know magnesium could aid in our BP. Have they mentioned anything that could help bring our BP back to normal?
My OB tells me that working out, losing weight, watching the foods etc will help. I’m doing all of that except lose weight because I’m already a small woman. I’m so nervous to be placed on medication because that can be a potential lifetime medication 😭😭😭 Thinking about it and writing this makes me soooo sad!!
Do you feel differently now that you have high BP? I don’t feel any different. They continue to ask if I’m seeing dots, blurred vision or experiencing headaches that won’t go away. It’s odd because I feel fine.

@@brialianabesos Well I also took magnesium during my pregnancy but the one I was put on at the hospital it’s a different one which is an iv medication to prevent seizures. I was on it for 15 hours and omg the side effects were horrible.
The only thing they told me was to consume less sodium and to eat healthy and the high BP should go away within 6-8 weeks which I really hope is the case 🙁.
I know, as right now I’m taking medication and I can’t imagine having to take it for the rest of my life 😭.
I do have migraines but I’ve always had it so I don’t know if it’s from the BP or just normal migraines but besides that I feel normal 🤷🏻‍♀️

My baby is 3 months in one week and l started to have blood pressure for my first time when she was 8 weeks. Doctor prescribed me lisipronel for the blood pressure. Doctor l would like to know if it was not better to advice me to take magnesium supplements unstead of putting me on medication. Thanks

    • @callmedoctor.p

At 8 weeks postpartum, developing hypertension suddenly is likely not sure to the pregnancy. I wonder if you had high blood pressure earlier after delivery, but it was not caught earlier. Magnesium supplements are not a treatment option for high blood pressure outside of IV treatment in the hospital for 24hrs when immediately postpartum.

Excellent question. Painkillers won't cause hypertension after delivery but can make it worse. NSAIDs fall in this category. Blood pressure elevations after delivery can last 2-45 days and then normalize.

If you read this and you have anything to say please do. When I was pregnant with my first child, I got PIH and when I delivered my baby I didn't have aby issues. Since its my first pregnancy I was so careful with my diet which inable me to deliver normally cos the baby wasn't big cos I didn't gain much weight. Almost 2 years after that I got pregnant again and with this one all my cravings was salty and sweet abd junk foods, I was really careless and didn't care and my bp was high and I was on med. After I had my 2nd baby tru CS, 5 days after, I had super high bp that my ob-gyn told me to go and see a cardiologist, the doctor put me on med (amlodipine 10mg) and after that visit ive not met any doctor cos I had to travel abroad where health care is not very good. Its been 5 years I'm on rhat 10mg med and I always have headaches and blurry vision. So I reduced it to 5mg by myself after that I don't feel those things anymore. The problem now is this, I just found out that I'm pregnant and I'm scared to death that this pregnancy will kill me. No one wants to die. Is there anything I can do?

    • @callmedoctor.p

@MischievousMetoo Hi, congratulations on your third pregnancy. I would recommend that you get started on your prenatal care immediately if you haven't started. It is important that you BPs be monitored carefully and your organs as well. You will need medication adjustments as well. If you have a good high-risk OBGYN, you are likely to have good care, a healthy pregnancy, and a healthy baby. Good luck in your journey and try to enjoy it as much as possible! 🥰

@@callmedoctor.p thanks for responding I really appreciate. I've not gone to prenatal and still taking my amlodipine. I'm really scared that I'm considering abortion. Those bp medications during pregnancy can they help normalize bp? How about when I reach 20 weeks, will it raise even more? I'm really really scared I could die. I have small kids.
