I’m jealous of yalls weather. Tennessee is 5°c at night and 32°c + during the day. We don’t know what to wear, scared to drop the top for fear it’ll get too cool to quick to put back up. It may rain, I may not, I may be sunny, it may be a tornado🤷🏻♂️
Just put mine on have in trouble with the back window channel bar think it needs to heat up a bit. Also watching your video I am going to loosen the straps buy the speakers. Thanks. I have a red tj to.
Sounds good Michael. They are pretty tight when first fitted. Rear window bar can go on upside down too so check on that too. Had a couple of issues recently but need to do a video on it. Red is the best color 😊
All I can say is its easier when the roof is warm rather than cold. It's a double edged sword though. Make it easier to get out and the roof wouldn't be as tight.
Hello great videos very instructional, I have a question what year is your Jeep and what’s the part number on the top the only one I’m able to find for my 1998 tj the top does not flip back, thanks and keep making the videos, can’t wait to get starting working on my TJ
Mine a 2006 Jose, here's a link to the top on Quadratec. www.quadratec.com/products/11116_6235_07.htm Hope you enjoy working on your TJ, be great to see a pic at some point.
i really struggle to drop the top back and can't get those plastic tabs above the door off. do i need to loosen up the window zippers or are there other tricks?
Easier to do when the weather is hot, I've found as the top wears its also become slightly easier. That said, whilst tight, its not that hard to undo the plastic tabs and fold back, then re-attach the fold back front roof sectio, unsure why yours is difficult.
Just installed the Best Top Pavement Ends version of this top. A bit of a pain but got it on. Only thing is the header latches are a bit loose. Anyone else have issues with that? Also nice video brother, thanks for the post! 🍻
Mine are fine, yours should be too. My only thought is that the top isn't tensioned properly at the rear (does it have the tensioning straps in the rear corners) or the padding on the roll bar is missing or compressed.
Darryl Sheather hi Darryl. Yes, all the tension straps are tight. Not sure the issue but will see once everything settles after it’s been on a week. Thanks for the reply!
Thanks for the video. If you have any tips/tricks on removing the Bestop Soft Top NX for those days you just want the top down, let me know what you have for me.
Questions: I thought the rubber mucket seals (between the bottom of the door surrounds and the tub) needed to be removed... At least, that is what Bestop instruction video detailed. The made specific mention to remove them. It did not look like you had done that on your installation. Did instructions from Bestop change? They must have had some kind of reason, based on engineering, for removing those seals. Anyway... Comments: Nice top! I can't afford twill, but looking to get black diamond this summer (your winter). I am enjoying your series on the Project TJ.
Just had a look. The Bestop surrounds have a layer of foam glued to that section, I looked at removing the rubber bucket but when I did it exposed the open end of the channel that you slide the side curtains into, to me that looks like a water ingress spot so didn’t. All fits fine however. Hope that helps! Darryl
Darryl Sheather thanks for the reply. I am new to the Jeep world and only have the hard top now. With this top and in my example, you would, say, open the tail gate and zip up maybe both sides a little and then undo the bottom bar? Does that sound right? Or do you have to do the whole back window?
Thanks for the great video. Yours is the most detailed. I like the close ups.
Thanks for getting in touch, glad the video helped out!

I've got to admit that here in Aus we have a nice climate, very blessed.
Top looks awesome
Thanks, it's still looking good 6 months on too!
great videos man! I’m putting on my top tomorrow
Good luck! I hope it was a hot day, they seem to fit better in the heat
Subscribed, I’m currently building a 1997 TJ I just ordered this top.
Sounds good, you’ll be happy with the Bestop.

The side pieces above the doors where top clips under is there a secret to getting that apart easier

Can you remove the back window only and keep the sides?
yes
What is the velcro above the rear windows for. I have the same top but having figured out what to use the inside top of the side windows for
I don't think bestop makes twill fabric for LJ wrangler 😓 that would be awesome

With this top can you fold it down and go convertible or only just the top sun roof part
That's what I want to know
now hi is your lift? it look very good......
HD OME Kit, maybe 2.5"

does it come with the tailgate bar?
Yes it does

I tend not to totally remove it, Tend to just flip back the front and take off the windows.

Would you buy the twill again? I'm torn because of the cost.
Twill is really nice Sarah. No regrets.
Can you use the sun rider feature with all three of the back windows removed?
Yes you can
Where did you order this from? And how long did it take to get in? :)
Quadratec, here in a week
Is this the black diamond or the black denim?
Black Twill
Nice review, but how is using the tailgate with this top? How easy is it to have the dog jump up or put groceries in? Thanks!
Hi, it’s better than the standard top as you have a zipper either side of the rear window rather than just the one long zipper as per the OEM top.
Darryl Sheather thanks for the reply. I am new to the Jeep world and only have the hard top now. With this top and in my example, you would, say, open the tail gate and zip up maybe both sides a little and then undo the bottom bar? Does that sound right? Or do you have to do the whole back window?
I usually open the tailgate and zip both sides of the window up 3/4 way and then swing the window up so it rests on the roof if that makes sense
Darryl Sheather Sounds pretty easy then, eh? Thanks!
Thanks for the video..... but so sorry, your steering wheel seems to be on the wrong side!
Thanks for watching! I'm unsure on the steering wheel side, everyone I see driving is on the same side as me :)
It’s on the right side, take that how you want 😉
