Thanks for your video I'm finding it harder and harder to find videos to fix my hiace I recently had to change my harmonic pully and radiator and would have been great for a video like this ad I found out all the issues while I was doing it. Oh and for any haters who say get a mechanic to do it the cost of maintenance now would be more than van worth if I had to pay someone.

Cheers for comment, I appreciate it!
I’m hoping to do the radiator as a preventative maintenance job before the end of the year, as we’re heading off on a lap of Aus next year. If I get the time to do it, I’ll make a video documenting the process. From what I’ve seen so far, it’s a bit of a pain!

Thanks bro for the insight into where the filter is and the socket sizes needed. Greatly appreciate it.

Good tip about fuel cap, I just got my hiace and have to put a peg under the lever to keep the cable stretched enough to open the fuel cap door, fair to say it was a lot easier with my old 86, just lift the tab behind the drivers seat and there is was!

    LOL @ easy way!
If the bracket is installed the other way around, which it is in a few other rzh103r's I've seen, it has to be removed entirely to get the filter out, meaning it's a double fiddly job of getting everything in finger tight then trying to get angles to tighten everything almost blind, without losing O rings/bolts or washers, reinstallation starts with the bracket ( mount to block and tighten around filter) otherwise you cannot fully tighten the filter.. be prepared, and double check your mounting bracket orientation before disconnecting fuel lines!

Wow, that’s an unfortunate find! Did it look like it could be reinstalled the other way around at all?

@@whoshrunkmyshed3786 the bracket can be installed "upside down", but from below there not much chance of getting the top nut in or out directly under manifold. Possibly if ex-fleet the servicing was manifold off , thus, the bracket would be reinstalled "upside down" from our bottom orientation where the loosening nut is facing up not down. I've seen both ways, and The last one I did the top nut wasn't even there so could remove easy. but yeah, it seems it could be easy to go in, remove all the fuel lines then realize it's not possible to release the filter without removal of manifold, Good video nonetheless mate, I bet its helping lots of frustrated Hiace users as I've seen in forums people have trouble even finding it!

Ryco Z440 or equivalent in another brand, that’s for the filter with multiple spots to fit the hose. Would be my suggestion.

This was done with a 2001 with 2rze motor, manual transmission, should be the same procedure with models from 1999-2004 using the 2rze & manual transmission if my information is accurate.
