Quitting forever may seem impossible when having withdrawals.
I think it is best to just take one day at a time, and see how many days you can do. Every day is a small victory.
It gets easier. Good luck 😸

You’re a Brit ! You cannot possibly give up tea ; that would be sacrilegious 🙃! My first morning cup of tea ( black, no sugar ) is pure nectar of the Gods . Good old fashioned black builders tea is pure heaven and very hydrating .

Thank you Rebecca. I'm carnivore for 2 1/2 months and 32 years sober in AA. Lately I've been thinking that gummies might help with sleep and depression. I'm so glad that you said edibles did not help. Now I can quit thinking they might and focus instead on getting off the caffeine. And definitely staying on the carnivore lifestyle. Thank you and welcome to the 12 step recovery community. 😊

I just discovered Dr.Elizabeth Bright. She talks about iodine and carnivore diet. She also talks that tea is full of fluoride and quite toxic. I bought one bottle of Lugol's iodine. Let's see what it does.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better, and finding community support too. You have so many pieces of a good life coming together. If you need some help with sleeping both melatonin and benadryl are non-addictive and could be a temporary bridge while you adjust to giving up tea. Your home needs to be your sanctuary...hold your boundaries.

Again, melatonin is a hormone and has huge long term negative effects. Completely messes with natural body hormones. By taking it you can destroy your endogenous hormone production forever!

See!!! I knew something was going to change soon ❤ You are so amazing, I'm so happy for you. It's not easy to have these sorts of conversations with yourself. Honestly it can be a little embarrassing, even privately, to have come so far and still be doing these stupid things that you know are stupid and counterproductive. Especially when you already gave it up once. For me it's been a battle to stay away from video games and social media. I'm significantly better than I was, and I have to remind myself of this when I'm feeling insufficient.
And man I feel you on caffeine. I'm still battling the coffee thing. I gave it up for a whole year, only to start again last winter because I craved warm drinks in the cold season, and what else can I drink, as a carnivore who doesn't like tea? When spring came I had to grapple with the fact that I didn't want to stop drinking it, even though I could feel that it was making me both anxious and irritable. I finally compromised with myself that I would drink decaf on the weekends as a treat, since I like the taste. And I did that for a few months, but then one vacation and a lot of bad sleep brought the coffee back during the week, and I've been trying to stop ever since. It's starting to feel like a bigger battle than giving up carbs! So I totally feel you on that 😩
I hope you have a lovely weekend! I am, apparently, going line dancing tonight 💃 I'm not much of a dancer so this is definitely out of my comfort zone, but then, that's where all the best things in life happen to be! Take care, and much love xx

Might be great now but as you destroy your body's ability to make it's own over time, you'll always have issues And have to take it forever. Please look into it. You're destroying your body's own ability to make it. It's a much bigger issue than you think. Related to leptin, melanin and the entire energy cycle. The reason you can't sleep is because you're not using light correctly.

  • @truestory923
    @truestory923 วันที่ผ่านมา

Hi Rebecca, thoroughly sending warmth and gratitude for sharing.
    Quick two thoughts:
The first is the tea. Because the leaves are grown in poisoned soils, tea is SO FULL of fluoride, which chemically will bind to the halide lock and key on cell membranes, thus displacing iodine, which most people are deficient in, and this can wreak havoc with our entire balance...
Secondly, although I agree about the importance of fats, I just wanted to share that those people without a gallbladder listening, might assume that they too can just load up on fats on keto or carnivore... While they might be better to gradually build up the fats so their system can adjust. Or they can take bile acid supplements or tudca... There's a few great TH-camrs who explain these details and it can be very important for those people missing the gallbladder component. Please please be careful as an influencer ... I know you're enthusiastic, but it also means you might need to delve a little deeper into the ramifications of some of your suggestions. Again, really not trying to criticize cause we all can't know everything...
And lastly, please look into some Jack Kruse videos explaining the importance of light. It might really help with caffeine once you regulate your circadian rhythms.
And lastly, thanks for the stories of the workaway... I have only done two people, both were completely awful, and it's been a year that I've not done it... You've given me a bit of hope that maybe there's some good workaways out there...

Glad you’re feeling better! Feels like there’s a bit of internalised shame from society about it, but god, a sense of community is so important. Trying to weigh up all the variables on health battles is so challenging, you have to try different things to get out of a funk. And I love the substance blindly, unfortunately, but depression sucks - good for you!

Same. MS RRMS since 2007 and likely years before. Keto low carb since January and carnivore (most strict form) since June. Mental clarity and lassitude improved but NOT mobility. RRMS now told progressive prior to my change in eating. Will see as you feel disappointed. I have not cheated once but you may be right that damage significant may not improve. Also brain lesions easier to improve as brain finds new pathways but spinal cord lesions have less room and less forgiving. I will keep trying and you too so we will see ... might try Lion diet most restrictive carnivore but bacon and eggs just finished so am thinking and considering ... some physicians think it might be a bit more of a punch to autoimmune including MS. Easy to think we are left out if not seeing the dramatic results but NO... Keep persevering with me. Fasting periods apparently shows some promise with Parkinson's (Dr Matthew Perry) but MS is complex. Cheering you on!!!!! :))))

Keto & carnivore diet didn't help for my dysthymia. Maybe indirectly, 30kg less weight and reduced inflammation improoves mood just because your body feels better but quitting caffeine (mate, coffee and strong teas in excessive amounts) changed everything. My way of thinking is so different, calmer, clear. But it was the most difficul month of my life due to headaches and I'm still thinking about just one small cup of coffee occassionally. Definitely worth quitting and I did it to get rid of oxalates from my diet (joints inflammation) but the outcomes were in different parts of my body 😊

    Hi Rebecca
Im sure you must be well aware of the mortal danger that some girls get in by inviting strangers of the internet into their homes. I would say that if a man simply asks to go to bed and takes no for an answer you must consider yourself lucky, take it as a compliment, and realise its normal for many men to yry it on and suggest things if they are with a pretty girl. As long as they take no for an answer you mustn't resent them or feel angry at all. Just say "thanks for the compliment" and move on.
Well done to holding your boundaries.

In these trying times the use of this plant doubled. I'm sure it's part of their plan. It's ironic some folks now believe it's benefits are being suppressed when it's actually it's side effects that are being suppressed. This plant has no benefit aside from it makes great paper, plastic, fabric, and fuel. Humans need their dreams. This stuff suppresses both REM and non-REM sleep. That means it's also bad for detox and rebuilding.

I see what you mean about tea. I remember as a child…maybe 5 or 6 years old, my mother would bring in the teapot at the end of a meal and I would think “I have to wait five whole endless minutes before I can get my drink.”. So the next challenge in my health journey is to replace my tea drinking with water….yuck. That way I’ll figure out if I’m thirsty, hungry, longing for caffeine, (or whatever else it is in tea that makes it over important), or whatever need I’m covering up with the habit. We’ll see.
